- The Perfect City Companion with One Major FlawI have been driving the Grand i10 Nios for just over a year now, primarily for my daily office commute in peak traffic. After clocking 12,000 kilometers, I can confidently say that for pure city driving, this car is hard to beat. The biggest pro is the engine refinement. The 1.2L Kappa petrol engine is butter-smooth; at traffic signals, the cabin is so silent you might wonder if the car is even on. The clutch is feather-light, and the gear shifts are slick, which makes bumper-to-bumper traffic much less tiring. The interior quality also feels surprisingly premium, far better than what Maruti offers in this price range. However, I have to be honest about the downsides. The biggest con is the safety rating; the 2-star GNCAP score is disappointing and makes me nervous on highways. Additionally, the suspension is a bit too soft—it gets bouncy at high speeds.
