We love the fact that there people brave enough to take what are generally considered really fast cars, tune them to incredible lengths and make then even more faster and powerful. One such example is the BMW M135i which has been tuned by German aftermarket specialists Tuningwerk. The BMW M135i is by itself already a fast car by virtue of it being an M badged car, so it should be interesting to see just how much better it can get.
The ‘standard’M135i gets a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine that produces 323PS. Tuningwerk has modified the car to produce 452PS. How has it achieved this phenomenal jump? For starters, they have modified the turbocharger, installed an extra watercooler as well a bigger intercooler. They have also modified the ECU and installed a lightened flywheel. While we have no performance numbers, the normal M135i is no slouch. It does 01-100kmph in 4.9 seconds and has a top speed of 250kmph. Oh and its not just the engine that has been modified; Tuningwerk has also done its work on the suspension, LSD, performance brakes. They have also fitted 18-inch special wheels, roll-cages and recaro seats.
It is unlikely that we will ever get such powerful car in India or even something close to it in this category but it is nice to imagine how much fun it will be drive.
