The Maruti Gypsy has soldiered on for almost three decades now and has got two engines over the years, it currently sports the common G13B motor found in the Esteem and old Swift. This engine was slightly detuned for the Jeep and produced 80bhp and 103Nm of torque. The Gypsy has a longitudinally mounted engine and power is sent to the rear wheels or all four. This setup along with the short gearing does pay a toll on the fuel economy figures.
Maruti Gypsy Petrol Mileage
The Gyspy has an ARAI rated Mileage of 11.96kmpl. It is good enough for 8-8.5 kmpl in the city and on the highway it can deliver Mileage of up to 10 kmpl. The Gypsy is a niche product and is available only on order; it doesn’t have any competitors as it is the only petrol jeep on sale in India.
