So, talking about the most value for money SUV......of-course I'm talking about the Hyundai Creta 1.4 diesel. I'm a proud owner of Hyundai Creta since July 2017. In this review, I'll share all the details of my ownership experience from deciding which car to buy to the after-sales experience at the dealership. When I decided that I want a new car I was sure that I'll get an SUV this time & I had a budget of 11 Lakh rupees. I had so many option & filtered they down to 3 i.e. Ford Ecosport Titanium diesel, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza ZDI & finally Hyundai Creta E-Plus diesel. Considering the use of the car I was pretty sure I want a commodious diesel vehicle with good mileage & low-maintenance cost. Since my need was for low maintenance I scraped off the Ecosport as my option due to overly expensive service cost & spare parts. After taking a visit to Hyundai & Maruti dealerships I decided to get the Creta because of better build quality, ample space & I got almost all the features I needed. My experience at the dealership was very pleasant, I got my car within a week & I got a cash discount worth 15k & got free floor mats, mudguards & boot floor mat. The car cost me 10.90 lakhs on-road in Haryana & I still had to spend some money on the car to get some missing features about which I'll discuss later. Till the date, I have driven my Creta 75000 kilometres & that was the main reason I wanted good mileage & my car is mostly driven on highways because of business trips. Now talking about the exterior, I accept that it is a subjective topic but my opinion is that Creta's exterior is not that adventurous but rather a boxy design which gives it the SUVish stans. Moving to the front of the car it has a matte finished grill in this model whereas upper models get a chrome one also it gets normal halogen lamps rather than the projector set up in the upper models & also there are no fog lamps in this model. Now I'll share the aftermarket stuff I got for the front of my car. I got the projector unit, front chrome grill & the fog lamps for 40k which makes the base model look as good as the top model. Talking about the sides it is confidence-inspiring & has pretty bold looks, at last, the rear of the car even has a spoiler on the boot in the base model as well, being the base model there are no alloy wheels Hyundai offers steel rims with wheel caps which don't look bad & the tyre size is also good it's a 205/65 R16 wheel & the door handles & ORVMs are also body coloured with indicators also being integrated into ORVMs. Moving in the interior Hyundai gives 2 flip keys with boot opening function on the key as well. When you enter & sit in the car first thing you'll notice is how comfortable the seats are & the beige-coloured strip flowing through the dashboard brings a contrast to the cabin. The driver side door has controls for all the 4 power windows, locking & unlocking the doors & for the electronically adjustable side ORVMs which is a good touch in the basic model as even the Kia Seltos doesn't get this feature. The instrument cluster is well lit up with all required information with a 3 inch MID as well. The steering wheel of the car is very light for city driving & weighs up well on cruising speeds, steering can be adjusted for rake but not for reach also it gets only two buttons on the steering wheel to operate the MID no controls for the infotainment system nevertheless I got a 10-inch android stereo, reverse parking camera & steering mounted audio controls installed just for 15k & that too without any wire cutting so warranty also wasn't voided. Examining the storage spaces in the car OMG it is so spacious, all 4 doors can accommodate 1-litre water bottles & front doors have extra storage for map pockets There are 2 cupholders in the centre of the dashboard & space above the gear-knob to keep your phone, being the base model we still get a front centre armrest with storage. The boot is accommodative & if you fold down the seat huge amount of stuff can be loaded in it. The rear seats are comfortable & 3 people fit in at ease because of the flat floorboard, just there is no rear seat armrest & the headrests are integrated & non-adjustable. It gets manual AC controls with rear AC vents, the AC chills car in no time & the rear AC vents are a gem for the base model. The car is powered by a 1.4-litre diesel engine which apparently is shared with the Hyundai i-20 & is in the same stage of tune as well i.e. 89 BHP & 220nm of torque. I feel it is a bit underpowered for a car of this weight but this con brings a huge plus point for this car & i.e. very impressive mileage, the car easily churns out a fuel economy of 16-17 kmpl in city driving & 19-20 kmpl on highways which is really impressive for a car of this size. Creta gets a 6-speed gearbox & it is is not at all heavy & it is really sleek shifting. All these features, mileage & the value for money nature of this vehicle sounds majestic but now I have purchased the car & its time to take a glance at the maintenance cost & after-sales support of Hyundai. Till the date, my car has not faced any major issue where any part needs to be replaced & the service cost of this vehicle is pretty reasonable being a diesel motor, the service cost is 6500 rupees including taxes & labour also the dealership treats its customers well. I'll conclude my review by mentioning the pros & cons after that I'll share my final verdict, talking through the pros 1) value for money factor of this vehicle is really high 2) impressive mileage 3) low maintenance cost 4) magnificent AC with rear AC vents 5) highly commodious & practical cons 1) a bit underpowered 2) no centre seat armrest for rear seats 3) driver seat isn't height-adjustable in this model. I'll conclude my review by saying that it was one of my most monetary worth purchase & the money spent on aftermarket stuff makes the car a perfect bargain & I would recommend this car who wants a spacious car with great mileage.
