Range Rover Sport SVR facelift in the works

Land Rover has been constantly updating the Range Rover Sport ever since it was introduced back in 2013 at the New York Motor Show. The biggest update of all, however, comes in the form of the super quick SVR model, which is now due for a makeover. 

This half-camouflaged prototype was recently spotted testing at the Nurburgring race track in Germany and the photos reveal quite a bit. The mid-cycle facelift focuses mainly on the front-end in order to make the SUV appear sportier. The new design language includes a couple of vertical air intakes to the side of the bumper and a grille that looks like a frowning face.

The mesh of the upper grille has been changed while the clamshell hood now has a recessed area in the middle, a first for any Range Rover. Changes are a little less obvious at the back, but it might be too early to tell.

The engine range for the Range Rover Sport is likely to be carried over with emissions and fuel consumption tweaks. Considering that the typical life cycle of a Range Rover SUV is around eight years, we expect the updated Sport to be revealed later this year as a 2018 model.
