Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) is set to give new Eon owners a year-end top-of-the-line experience with Don2. Hyundai has an in-film advertising with Don2, with Sonata and the Santa Fe prominently featuring in the film, the company announced today. While Shah Rukh Khan, who is also the Hyundai brand ambassador, is driving a Sonata, Priyanka Chopra rides the Santa Fe, in Don2, the action-thriller released today.

As part of this relationship with King Khan and Don2, Hyundai has launched a value-add drive with EON, the latest stylish and spacious entry level family car from Hyundai -- Free Don2 posters will be given to all those who participate in EON test drives being organised at all dealers’ and lucky draws for Don2 couple tickets will be held at each of these outlets.

There’s more for all those SRK and Hyundai fans! Hyundai will organise special screenings of Don2 for i20-Uber Trooper Fan Club members in Delhi and Mumbai on December 24 (Saturday) and December 25 (Sunday), respectively.

So far the company has delivered 7188 units of the Eon to its various dealerships across the country. You can book an Eon for Rs 25,000 approximately and the deliveries will commence once the hatchback is launched on the 13th of October. 

The Eon will be powered by a three-pot 800cc engine and will be available in three trim levels: Base, GL and GLS. Our sources confirm that automatic version of the Eon could be a future option, but at present there are no such plans.  The Hyundai Eon will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Alto and Chevrolet Spark and will be priced similarly at about Rs 3lakh. Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) announced the commencement of bookings of its soon to be launched new compact car – EON. The bookings will open from October 1, 2011.‘Eon’ – means eternity.  The car will be manufactured in India at Hyundai Motor India’s manufacturing facility located at Sriperumbudur near Chennai.

The Eon will bear Hyundai’s design philosophy of ‘Fluidic Sculpture’.  Eon has design elements and features that have been developed for Indian conditions. The car is targeted at first time buyers who want to buy a spacious and stylish car that is high on fuel economy.

Mr. H W Park, MD and CEO, HMIL said, “Hyundai is committed to offer products with advanced technology to the Indian market. All our products confirm to global quality standards. We are confident that the EON will set a new benchmark in the Indian market with regard to styling, performance, safety and convenience. The car will provide the best-in-class design, quality and technology to our customers.” 

The car has been designed at Hyundai’s Namyang R&D centre located in the Gyeonggi Province in South Korea. HMIL’s R&D facility in Hyderabad worked in coordination with Namyang R&D to develop the EON. There was a regular exchange of experts between the two centers. The Namyang R&D center is equipped with world class facilities in terms of design, power train, wind tunnel, crash and other driving test facilities. The aim was to develop an entry level car that is spacious and stylish, something that has never been offered in this segment before.
