        Specifications

        • Engine & Transmission

          • Engine
            1198 cc, 3 Cylinders Inline, 4 Valves/Cylinder, DOHC

Timely services will keep a motor efficient and in top shape.

          • Engine Type
            mFalcon D75 Diesel

The official title given by the manufacturer in terms of the name of the engine, the displacement and the number of cylinders.

A bigger displacement and more than four-cylinders generally indicate a performance-oriented engine.

          • Fuel Type
            Diesel

All cars in India either run on petrol, diesel, CNG, LPG or electric power.

          • Max Power (bhp@rpm)
            77 bhp @ 3750 rpm

Gives a good idea of the performance of the vehicle under full thrust. A higher figure here usually means a higher top speed as well.

Higher the power, the peppier the engine but it can also affect fuel economy.

          • Max Torque (Nm@rpm)
            190 Nm @ 1750 rpm

Relates to in-gear acceleration. A higher figure here means better roll-on acceleration, fewer gear shifts, and possibly better fuel efficiency.

The more torque at low RPM range makes the engine feel more responsive. It also allows the engine to run smoothly without too many gear changes.

          • Mileage (ARAI)
            25.31 kmpl

This is the maximum fuel efficiency that an engine gives. All numbers are provided by the manufacturer based on tests conducted and specified by the standards of the ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India)

Such fuel efficiency attained while driving in special conditions makes it unlikely to get it in real-world conditions

          • Drivetrain
            FWD

Cars come with different drivetrain configurations depending on the segment.

Front-wheel drive (FWD) is most common in mainstream cars while expensive cars or SUVs come with rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD).

          • Transmission
            Manual - 5 Gears

Type of transmission used to transfer power from the engine to the wheels

A manually operated transmission is the most popular type, thanks to its simplicity and low cost. Varied types of automatic transmissions are also available.

          • Turbocharger / Supercharger
            Turbocharged

Manufacturers today offer turbochargers to boost engine power without affecting its fuel economy. Superchargers are found in more expensive cars but on the downside, they are not very efficient.

Turbochargers are more effective but require plenty of heat management. Superchargers, meanwhile, offer linear bump in power but they are comparatively more complex.

        • Dimensions & Weight

          • Length
            3675 mm

The length of the car decides its segment. In India, cars that are less than 4 metres in length enjoy reduced excise duties.

            Length
            • Length: 3675

Longer length results in more cabin space. It also adds to straight line stability.

          • Width
            1715 mm

A car's width is defined as its widest point without its mirrors.

            Width
            • Width: 1715

Although more width gives you more lateral space inside the cabin, it makes the car more difficult to park in narrow spots.

          • Height
            1655 mm

The height of the car denotes the highest point of the vehicle from the ground.

            Height
            • Height: 1655

Taller the car, the more headroom there is on offer inside the cabin. However, a tall boy stance also affect the car’s centre of gravity which can cause more body roll.

          • Wheelbase
            2385 mm

The space between the center of the front and rear wheels.

            Wheelbase
            • Wheelbase: 2385

The longer the wheelbase, the more space there is inside the cabin.

          • Ground Clearance
            170 mm

It’s the space between the lowest point of the car and the ground.

            Ground Clearance
            • Ground Clearance: 170

If the car has a good amount of clearance, it’s easier for it to clear big speed breakers and overall, deal with bad roads.

          • Kerb Weight
            1135 kg

The total weight of the vehicle with all the standard equipment and all the required fluids.

A lightweight car will always be more efficient and easier to manoeuvre whereas a heavy car would give you a sense of solidity while driving.

        • Capacity

          • Doors
            5 Doors

The number of doors define the category of car. For example – four door means sedan, two-door means coupe while five-doors usually refer to a hatchback, MPV or an SUV.

            Doors
            • Doors: 5
          • Seating Capacity
            6 Person

The number of people that can be seated comfortably in the car, which has also been mandated by the car manufacturer.

          • No of Rows
            2 Rows

Smaller cars usually have two rows which can seat five, but some SUVs and MPVs have three rows and can seat around 7-8 passengers.

          • Bootspace
            243 litres

Boot space defines how practical the car is with respect to how much luggage it can carry.

            Bootspace
            • Bootspace: 243

A boot with a large and wide opening is ideal for loading heavy items. Additionally, a lower loading height also makes it easy to put in luggage.

          • Fuel Tank Capacity
            35 litres

The official volume of the fuel tank of a car, usually denoted in litres.

If a car has a large fuel tank, it can cover long distances without refuelling.

        • Suspensions, Brakes, Steering & Tyres

          • Front Suspension

          • Wheels
            Alloy Wheels

The wheels used on cars are either steel rims with plastic wheel cover hub or alloy wheels on higher spec models or expensive cars.

Razor cut, or diamond cut alloy wheel design are not getting more popular. Manufacturers usually offer these in top-end trim of their car models.

          • Spare Wheel
            Steel

Important in a country with varying quality of roads, spare wheels ensure one doesn’t get stranded when one of the main tyres gets damaged.

        • WORST EXPERIENCE WITH THIS CAR KUV-100
I PAID FULL AMOUNT TO BUY A NEW KUV100 K8 DIESEL, BUT WHAT I GOT IS A FAULTY PRODUCT. Problems are. 1) From fifth, downgrading the gear is difficult. 2) Distance to empty reading was not correct. 3) Fuel lid was not opening properly. Need to remove the lid with a pen or a needle. 4) Air noise comes inside the cabin. 5) Glove box was not getting cooler. First Issue is after applying break at fifth gear not able to downgrade the gear. I have bought KUV on 31 Mar. With in a week i noticed this problem with 5th gear and informed to dealer. I have informed this in all Mahindra  customer service calls. They will call again & will ask all details again & again. No reply or fix has been provided till now. Even at the first service I have informed and a  mechanic drove the car and he finds the issue. Then the service person said they will have to replace a gear SYNCHRONIZER ring which needs to be ordered. And sent back with out fixing it in first service. After 3 months i got response from dealer that they got the part. And now they are telling that the problem also with GEAR FLYWHEEL, Clutch Plate which again they need to order and it will take 15 days. Service person agreed that 5 out of 100 vehicle is having this issue. How come a new vehicle can have these critical issues. This issue can lead to an accident. Human lives not important ?? Reason people buy a new vehicle is thinking it will be maintenance free. But what is the use here.Exterior DesignCritical gear problem, Air noise inside cabin, Fuel lid doesnt opens properly, Distance to empty

        • A decent car for daily use
Exterior Seriously A head turner , Suv stance from the front.Looks are good. But the side looks need to be improved. Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) A practical cabin which has necessary elements for both the chauffer and co-passengers. Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is good in power mode.I have reached maximum speed of 160. But we need to press the accelerator for a longtime to reach. Quitely its not advisible.Just for checking the Topspeed i went. And a driving speed of 100 is recommended to get 16kmpl. Sometimes it is very difficult to shift down the gear from 5th to 4th. Ride Quality & Handling Very good in good roads. And acceptable in bad roads. Not much bouncy. Final Words A decet car for a small family, which has much value for money that all the mahindra's have. Areas of improvement Mahindra should improve the fuel efficiency. Mahindra is very good in marketing, but people are so shrude. so dont try to wash our eyes with false marketing. Kindly improve the fuel efficiency, not only for the new vehicles but also for the existing users. We have bought the vehicles on the words u said.Styling,6 seater option, loaded features, driving comfortMileage, a small vibration while moving the vehicle, heavy clutch

        • Excellent Entry of Mahindra in Small Car Segment
Exterior For Exterior : It shows muscular image of mahindra. Nice and Unique exterior Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior is too good, specially mood lights and puddle lamps. Even Dashboard and gear clusters are attractive. While driving in night time, inside looks attracive.sapce wise no doubt about mahindra, and too comfortable or long drives  Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is good, Not noisy even from outside compare to other diesel engines, fuel economy on high way with AC i got 22 KMPL, in City , with AC i got 18.6 KMPL. Ride Quality & Handling : I have Purchased Mahindra KUV 100 K8 Diesel Top Model. Ride qualty and handling is too good and smooth. while seeing no jerks, on any kind of road. its a nice car. Final Words Simply the worh to money. Best in small segment. Unique car. Areas of improvement Variety of color to be added. Music system should have touch screen. Rear view camera should be added.Good Look, Good Style, Good Fuel Economy, Great Comfort, Powerful AC, Excellent NteriorCost is little bit high,
