Available with punchy 1.0L and 1.5L turbo-petrol engines, the Taigun delivers an engaging, fun-to-drive experience and strong highway performance, especially in the 1.5 GT variant. Ride quality is slightly on the firmer side but has amazing handling. The tech-friendly interior features a slick infotainment system and good comfort, though rear seat width can be tight for three adults. Boot space and DSG gearbox smoothness at low speeds are notable drawbacks, but overall value is high

I purchased a Taigun 1.0 Highline about a year ago. From the early days of ownership, I noticed a noise while applying the brake. I reported this issue to the service centre on two occasions, but each time I was told that it was a common problem with this vehicle. At the time of the first service, after about 13,000 km, the service centre advised me to replace both the brake discs and brake pads at a cost of around ₹12,000. I strongly objected and demanded company support. After considerable follow-up and pressure, they finally agreed to replace the brake discs and pads by compensating about 90% of the cost. In contrast, I previously owned a Maruti Swift, which I drove for nearly 1,20,000 km without needing to replace the brake discs even once. Although Volkswagen eventually addressed the issue, the entire process significantly affected my peace of mind as an owner. In short, while the vehicle performs well in terms of safety and driving comfort—especially on highways—I have serious concerns about its long-term reliability.
