Porsche Mission E spied with production body panels

What you’re eyeing is Porsche’s Mission E, their all-electric sedan which was spotted for the first time wearing a production-ready body. Exterior design highlights include a catchy coupe roofline that gives it a streamlined look, especially when viewed in profile.

Porsche also covered the prototype’s LED head lamps and tail lights with stickers to make them look like the Panamera. However, a sharp eye can easily catch the true design of the clusters which essentially look identical to the concept car showcased in 2015. Although the show car came with a full-width LED strip tail lamp, it is unclear from these shots if the road-going car will have the same. Plus, the car maker also slapped on a pair of exhaust tips on this prototype just to trick everyone into believing that it was powered by a combustion engine.

Porsche is also believed to be working on a snazzy set of doors for the Mission E. Although they admitted that suicide doors would be a difficult proposition, engineers are working on something else that’s quite close to the same affect. Power for the Mission E will come from two electric motors capable of producing 600+ bhp, and the 0-100kmph run is expected to take 3.5 seconds. That said, the Mission E’s battery pack supposedly offers a range of up to 500km, and will also feature the Porsche Turbo Charging system which is capable of fast recharging through an 800 volt fast charger.
