2015 Hyundai Elantra

Hyundai has launched the latest iteration of the Elantra in India at an introductory price of Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). This sedan had made its world premiere last year and the carmaker has now introduced it for the Indian market as well.

Unless you have missed our updates of the 2016 Hyundai Elantra, you are likely aware that the carmaker is going to launch the car in India on August 23. Fanning the flames of anticipation, the manufacturer has now released new teasers for the upcoming car.

Hyundai is all set to launch the 2016 Elantra in the Indian market on August 23, 2016. This is the new-generation Elantra that made its world premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) sold 41,201 cars in India in July 2016, registering a hike of 12.9 per cent in sales. The company had sold 36,503 units of cars in the same month last year.

The IIHS (Insurance Institute of Highway Safety) has given the US-model of the 2017 Hyundai Elantra a Top Safety Pick Plus rating. This is the topmost rating offered by the institute in their car crash tests.

So I have spent nearly two months inat the seat of my Elantra and it has been a truly positive experience. This month I mostly used the Elantra for intra city commutes and the Hyundai felt more than at home.

The Hyundai Elantra diesel has just entered our long term garage in the automatic guise and I am quite excited to call it all mine for the next three months. Despite being launched four years back, the Elantra still looks fresh and makes for a good option to the recently launched Toyota Corolla or even the Skoda Octavia. There is lots of space on the inside, it has a comfortable ride, very good refinement and a car that is genuinely good value.

Hyundai may have earned its name with its range of small hatchbacks and sedans here in India, but here’s a little-known fact: globally, the Korean brand is also responsible for making the BMW-rivalling luxury sedan in the form of the Genesis. Hyundai India’s most luxurious sedan offering, though, is the relatively smaller Elantra – a car that we all seem to like a lot, here at CarWale. And now that Hyundai has brought out a completely new 2016 model, we are looking forward to gauging all the changes and upgrades in the new Elantra.
