फॉक्सवैगन टिग्वान [2017-2020] यूज़र रिव्यूज़

I bought Tiguan Comfortline in November, 2018. I have driven around 5000 KMs since then. I chose Tiguan by trading in my Skoda Rapid which was with me for more than 4 years. The deal offered by VW dealership was very sweet in terms of exchange offer along with other discounts which bought the comfortline variant very near to my preferred budget for a luxury SUV (sans the badge). I was deliberating between a Jeep Compass and BMW X1 as I wanted only a 5 seater SUV and not any 7 seaters as I consider the last row being unusable or impractical in most cases. Jeep Compass was very appealing to the eye and drives well. However, I had a few reservations with respect to the almost white seats and not so premium interiors. BMW X1 was somehow more like an hatchback to sit in and also was over budget for me with the need of a 4 wheel drive as an option. Test drove Tiguan and just liked everything the car offered with the exception of the high sticker price. When I got to know the offer for my Rapid along with other discounts it just turned out to be a few lacs above the Jeep Compass. In the bargain I got a bigger car than the compass and X1 along with real premium interiors which was almost comparable to the X1 in quality and more practical than either of them. I have been driving the car in Bangalore city traffic and some highways and ghats and I am super impressed by the car. It drives supremely well on and off the road. It may not be a true blue off roader as the Endeavor or the Fortuner but it is way more practical for someone like me who drives 95% of the time on tarmacs or broken tarmacs and very occasionally takes it off road. It just blows away the Endeavor and Fortuner on the road and gives you a premium feel which those cars do not offer. Having owned a Skoda I kind off know how to handle the VAG renowned maintenance and cost of ownership threats. I honestly did not face any real issue with the service or high maintenance cost for my Rapid and I believe I should not face any issues with VW as well.

Exterior Typical VW design language, Slightly agile and upmarket.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Impressive.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Disappointing Performance inspite of 340 NM Torque , Circa 15 KM / L , Impressive Gearbox.

Ride Quality & Handling Good Pick -up, Impressive on high speed turning.

Final Words Was expecting better pricing and powerful engine from the VW Stable. The Cost is at par with Ford Endavour and Toyota Fortunar, however lacks significantly in engine, power, dimentions. Indeed Hyundai Tuscon has a more powerful engine with 20% lesser cost, resale value and brand value in Indian Automobile fraternity.

Areas of improvement Must Come - up with Manual Transmission for Enthusiasts, Reduce the price, Reduce running cost by increasing more on localizing the same, More engine options, Should introduce a concept similar to Maruti's true Value to Re - Energize the VW brand in India as it has lost oits ground in most of the catogories, be it Polo, Vento, Jetta, Beetle. Only saving grace for VW is the Ameo, which has a tough competition with Aspire, Xcent and now the hot selling Dezire ( which has already crossed 40 K booking in 10 days of launch).

Must buy this car. This car is super you will feel very good after sitting in this car and the pick up of this car is ultimate. I have not seen such car till now. I will prefer you to buy this car.

Exterior Great looking, good built quality, finishing as expected from a german car.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Infotainment system best in class- touch screen is feather touch- loaded with features, apple car play and android auto, seats are heated , finishing of the whole cabin is at the best, middle row space is better than expected.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Same 2.0L TDi motor with 7 speed DSG, could have had a bit more power, the car still drives like a breeze, hopefully they bring the R-line version with 197 bhp, pickup is good, gearbox being a DSG is always a gem to operate for a volkswagen.

Ride Quality & Handling Handling is same is a car, dont feel you are driving an SUV, bit body roll on the corners.

Final Words Great product, just a bit expensive.

Areas of improvement Increase the engine output, bring in the european spec instrument cluster, and reduce the pricing will make this SUV a winner in market.

Technology packed, interiors, sunroof, 4 motionexpensive, engine could have been retuned to 170bhp

The buying experience was very good. The car is very good and the features that are given are really excellent like the sunroof and all-wheel drive the best part is the gearbox it is one of the best. DSG have very fast gear changing processes. All the Volkswagen cars have very good built quality.

It was an awesome evening, once i received... i usually driven to the place and reached in 4 hrs approx.... i driven through ghat road and obviously i thought will be tired... but it wasn't so... next day morning, with snow, though i went with this car to the mountain range... quiet amazing experience i felt... so powerful drive has ever done... car reaches where my mind hope... facilities also was amazing... overall it was a very nice experience... Thanks, volkswagen.. u meet our expectations....

It is a great SUV . Engine & gear shift is smooth. Exterior styling & build quality is fantastic. The car is well appointed with useful features. Love the Panoramic sunroof. Love the way it handles, stable both in straight roads & winding curves. Better value for money than Audi Q3, BMW X1 & Mercedes GLA 200.

Pros its platform brand looks and features Comfortable you will get all in this SUV almost everything Launched before Skoda ,Jeep etc SUV so advantage of first enterant. cons PRICE Post sales service will be costly. Dealerships team give up to sold this as it is challenging so they just waiting for miracle otherwise there is scope to improve in efforts to convince customer. Poor CRM
