People have time till 25th May to adhere to the new rules laid down by the Supreme Court.</li><li>The Indian rupee has hit a low of Rs 55 to an American dollar. With the exchange rate fluctuations and the rupee depreciating, the value of imports in rupees have increased considerably (about 5 per cent in the last two weeks). As we had reported earlier, automotive companies have passed on the cost burden to the consumers with a price hike or are planning to do the same.</li><li>Eaton Corp, global suppliers of commercial vehicles and heavy machinery components, have decided to diversify from the automotive field. Eaton's $11.8 billion acquisition of Cooper Industries will reduce the automotive revenue of Eaton Corp to roughly 20 per cent of overall revenue while electrical components will contribute 60 per cent of the revenues.</li><li>The high Performance John Cooper Works models from Mini will get new revised engines. The 1.6 litre turbocharged four cylinder petrol engine producing about 208 bhp will also have an automatic transmission option for the buyers along with the existing Manual gearbox. The revised ultra lightweight enigne is expected to run 14 kms per litre of petrol.</li><li>The Fiat 500 has come up with the Abarth 695 Maserati edition after the success of a similar Ferrari edition launched ath the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2009. Only 499 to be made, the Maserati edition will don the Pontevecchio Bordeaux paint with a convertible grey top, Jaeger instrumentation, beige interiors, 17 inch Maserati style Neptune wheels and hexagonal tail-pipes.</li><li>After cutting down on the Facebook advertisements citing ineffectiveness, General Motors USA are now planning to cut down on the advertisement budgets for the SuperBowl. General Motors are reviewing their marketing startegy and plan to spend better rather than cut down the marketing budget.</li><li>Audi registered its first overall win at the Nurburgring 24 Hours as the R8 LMS Ultra finished at the first and second positions. Audi has been a champion at endurance events recently with the Le Mans, Spa, Bathurst and many more victories.</li><li>Toyota were also successful at the Nurburgring 24 Hours as their entries the Gazoo GT86, Toyta Swiss Racing GT 86 and Gazoo Lexus LFA won the SP3, V3 and the SP8 classes respectively.</li><li>Rolls Royce has scrapped the plans to go ahead with the Electric Phantom after the estimated range was maximum 120 miles for a single charge. Altogether Audi has produced around 2,000 cars in India since the start of production in September 2007. By 2015 up to 6,000 units will be rolling off the line each year.<br><br>"The production of the Q5 is part of our long-term growth strategy in India" says Frank Dreves, Audi Board Member for Production: "The Indian market for automobiles will grow very rapidly, and the Q5 is the right automobile at the right time."<br><br>Last year, Audi significantly expanded its line-up of engines for the models produced at the Aurangabad site: The Audi A6 sedan has been available with a 3.0 TFSI gasoline engine since March 2009, and before then customers could already choose between the 2.8 FSI, the 2.7 TDI and the 3.0 TDI.<br><br>In July, an entry-level version of the A4 sedan with a 1.8 liter TFSI engine was introduced.
