Much-2 More Refined then earlier Indica. Comfortable , Spacious. It glides on Highway soundless , You woun't feel sitting in a diesel car. Just Press Pedal and one Turbo come in to picture you are far far ahead any other car on road. Fuel Efficient... 14-15 in city 19-20 on highway (In 50% a/c) Mind blowing HVAC system , You may feel a bit jittery in bumper traffic. But worth buying it...........Great Fuel Eco. , Highway Beast, Comfort , spaceA bit Jittery in Bumper to Bumper Traffic

My Indica V2 Turbo has completed one year of run around 10000 Kms. It is one of the best small cars in the business today.

I have also driven the new Swift Diesel... & find nothing great in the car when compated to the Indica Turbo. The Swift Diesel is surely not worth Rs.5.4 Lacs (on road price in Bangalore) & definitely does not deserve the hype created by the media & Maruthi Udyog. I was also not happy with its power & pickup.

Surely, at the end of the day, I am a proud owner of Indica V2 DLG Turbo

I bought one of the first 2006 model Tata Indica V2 Turbo (intercooled) DLX in February, Car is very responsive and interior is good with comfortable seating and leg space that is a standard with Indica. This purchase was to replace my 2002 model Tata Indica V2 LXi. Smoothness is good though not as smooth as the Petrol version. AC is not very good with cooling slow. Mileage is 12/18 kmpl city/highway. Performance wise it is not equal to my Hyundai CRDi Viva. But overall it's an excellent value for money.Good fuel economy, Good styleVibrations, Finish

Got delivery of my brand new Tata Indica Xeta GLS on 2nd Aug’08 and it was cavern grey in color & after the car was got from the stock yard and was getting cleaned, i observed that the paint from the rear door had chipped off, upon same dealer Prerna motors agreed to replace the entire door with the same model / color car and which they did the next day to my satisfaction. And now i was happy to plan my pleasure trip from Bangalore to waynad in Kerala & clocked my first 1000 kms.

I selected the GLs version since I did wanted power windows & rear demister. I did not select GLG since it was costing me around 30K more than GLs. as i did not have good feedback on power windows provided by Tata and moreover rear wiper/demister is of no good without a water spray option at the rear.

Before freezing on Xeta, i did consider cars like Swift, Wagon R, palio & Indigo CS, In case of swift there was a waiting period of 6 months, wagon R was costing 70K more with much lesser features, moreover its a 4 seater and a much lighter car, persobally prefer sturdy ones.yes palio was impressive but was coming at 5.20 lac which is 2 lacs more, which was not value for money. sme with the care of Indigo Cs Dicor and my family need does not demand a sedan as of now. did not want to pay up 2.5 lacs more for 100LTR of extra boot and diesel is not viable as my usage is 1000 KM PM.certainly in comparison with maruti, i would not want to pay a premium for the "brand" instead pay for the product.

In my first 1000kms, which was mainly on highway and ghat roads, Blore to Waynad and back with AC 50% of of times. The engine was surprisingly smooth with

almost no noise & best part it was extremely torquey, did not had to do frequent gear shifts even in ghat roads and car would pull off with ease in the third

gear with AC ON!! Trust me The AC is powerful and cools the cabin in no time.

Since i got my car registered on 2nd AUG i had to cough up 6K more as the road tax had gone up by 2.2% hence car costed me me around Rs. 3.20L on road

Bangalore. with discount of whopping 38K(30K as cash disc and 8K as corporate disc) Moreover as part of the deal dealer provided me with Central locking ,

sun-control film, one layer of polish and door mats etc. I got a new pioneer music system with JBL  speakers System just ROCKS!!! The music system costed me 11K including labour from a local dealer / Friend's ref. Excellent work done by Sachin Auto Shop, Koramangala bangalore.

In the first 1000K i ensured to follow the running in instructions judiciously always ensured that the peak RPM in any gear is kept under 2200 RPM.

Below tips are extremely helpul in ensuring good fuel efficiency and increasing engine life:-
      1. Do not rave the engine unnecessary.
      2. On highways, drive at around 60 - 80 kmpl @ 1800-2200 rpm.
      3. Try to follow the gear change instructions mentioned on the windshielf - it will become a habit soon. It does help for better FE.
      4. Drive your car in such a way that you have to apply lesser brake. The more you brake, the more you are lossing unnecessary power applied earlier.
      5. On steap slopes, put the AC off as it reduces the load on the engine. Switch off the AC at red signal, and put it back on once in 3rd gear.
      6. While driving downslope (eg. downslope of a flyover), get to the middle lane and reduce the accelerator. A car or 2 may overtake you, but this will help

improve the FE of your car.
      7. In bumper-to-bumper traffic, avoid sudden pickup and braking. Use as little accelaration as you can since MPFI engines are designed to run even when the

accelerator is not pressed. Just de-clutch your vehicle slowly and the car will move a few meters easily.
      8. Check all the oil levels atleast once a month. It takes you only 30mins to do so.
      9. Service your vehicle every 6 months or 5000 kms, whichever is earlier.

This review would be incomplete without making a menton of Mileage i got during my first 1000KM, First 200KM car was mainly driven in Bangalore city traffic

with 100% AC and car delivered 13.5KMPL and on the Highway+ Ghats with 50% AC i got an amazing mileage of 18.5KMPL!!! what more could i ask from a 1.2 petrol car which weighs 1000 KGS and the driving experience on the highways is great, one fees really safe... thanks to the build..

All in all, I wouldn’t hesitate a bit to say that it is one of the best cars in hatchback category. I would certainly recommend Indica Xeta to anyone who is planning to buy a hatchback with a budget of 3.2 Lac.

I bought a Tata Indica V2 Turbo DLG (Cherry Red color) on last week, Car is very beatiful and interior is excellent. Seating is very comfortable and leg space is excellent. Smoothness is very good as equal to Big Petrol cars. AC is very good with in 3 to 5 Minutes we can feel the good cooling. I little worry about the milege, i think 12 kmpl will be in the city and highways, i haven't tried. Performance wise it is very best and equal to petrol cars. Overall it's a worth for money.Comfort, Style, InteriorMilege

I am using this vehicle for the last six months and clocked more than 6000 km(on lpg only, other than petrol for starting).

I am really happy with the leg space and head room it gives. The driving position is excellent gives a comfortable driving experience.
I usually fill LPG full tank( 30L) and empties it. In highway conditions it gives 390 to 400 km / full tank (@80-90kmph with ac full time) while in City I am getting 330-340 km/ tank.
The power steering is very friendly, but AC should have Temp. control.
I service my vehicle at Concorde Motors cochin, they are excellent.
Power delivery at 3rd gear is excellent and it zips through the trafic, I love overtaking with this vehicle.
Boot space is very limited, so I am planing to buy a detachable over head stand for my week-end trips.
Engine sound is lil higher than santro, but no traces of sound inside cabin with AC.

The Indica Turbo is Perfect Value for Money. I have owned it for almost a yr (completing this month end). What i am not very satisfied with is its average (14kms), when one compares it to the new Swift Disel (18-20kms). Though I am very satisfied with the Indica Turbo, I must say Tata needs to yet put in immense amount of effort for the interior quality, with simple things like your fuel tank at half full makes you aware of the fact when driving on bumpy roads of Pune. Overall, for the cost at which it sells, I'd say its definitely amongst the best in the Indian Market.Definite Value for Money, Very Spacious for its Size.Poor interior quality, Rattling

An Excellant Car with a Value for Money. Clutch is too smooth and the Brake is also very effective. The car being heavy, never vibrates at higher speed (>50 Km). AC is very powerful and pickup is very good. You cannot realize when u have reached 80 Km when on highways.

I have taken delivery of this car on March 2008 and so far run 2621 Km. I booked the car with RD Motors, VIP Road, Kolkata in December 2007, but had to wait for 3 months for the sanction of loan. They have also given Rs.30,000/- discount.
      I have also taken 30 months extended-warranty.
I have taken the car to workshop so far 4 times and every time for the "Check Engine" light problem. The people at the workshop got it corrected. Their welcoming, behaviour and dealings have so far been quite good.
I have also done my 1st service and under-chasis anti-rust coating with Uwrth. I am using HP "Power" petrol since purchase.
A very very smoothly Drivable Car excepting the following constraints:

      1) Mileage -- I am getting not more than 9.5 per ltr. even without AC. Ofcourse I have not checked making full-tank. I used to fill 10 ltr. at a time and then again fill up when the needle touches the red mark on the fuel gauge. This gives me around 95-97 Km.
      2) I have obtained 12.22 km/ltr with full tank and AC at 50% time. Considering 37 Ltr. fuel tank capacity, the 1/2 mark should be 18.5 ltr; which has given me 226 Km that works out to be around 12 Km.
      3) Check Engine light quite often glows on and then goes off automatically after 1-2 days.
      4) A heavy car, a bit difficult for the ladies and the aged without power steering.

I shall definitely recommend this car to firsttime buyers, ofcourse not to  extremely  fuel economy  and cost  conscious  people.

      Total  on-Road Price: Rs.3,28,000/=
      a) Car Price               = Rs.2,86,000
      b) Ext. Warranty        = Rs.     4,000
      c) Road Tax & Regn. = Rs.  26,500
      d) Insurance               = Rs.  11,500

Excellant drivability, Noiseless Engine, Vibrationless at High Speed, Clutch very smooth, PickupFuel Economy, Quality of Plastic materials used in interiors, Gear shifting is hard.

I purchaced GLX (PETROL) 1.4 Litre model in April 2008. Writing review after 4.5 years. To help understand those people who dont take a test ride in TATA car before buying in any Segment.

The only regret on buying this car is: I purchaced CNG kit worth 55000 from Company. And it didnt work, and my money was wasted. I removed the tank from the boot and now happy to ride only on petrol as my luggage space available for use.

Its Fuel economy is lower than small size maruti cars. 13 kmpl over all city+highways

Price: 3.6 lakhs on road for the top model. with 1.4 liter petrol engine.

Exteriors Descent Looks. The colors do not fade even after 4.5 years.

Interior Very very comfortable seats(front and rear) / leg room as compared to : Swift/Santro/i10/ford icon/wagonR. Dashboard has concave shape so nothing falls off from it, which is not there in the vista model ! People owning honda city/ ford icon have praized the comfortable sitting of XETA.

Engine Performance 78000 km down the line, no issues with engine. Very strong on Up hill. AC very powerful. No lagging with AC on. The engine never heatens up. Gear shift very smooth. Decent pick up in 2/3/4 gears  and Can compete with Vista/swift on highways easily.

Ride Quality & Handling Very smooth Power Steering.

Final Words Though these models and Engines are obsolate, the cars made by tatas are worth looking in before buying other brand.

      Areas of improvement Looks.

Dear Friends, This is my first review after owning the Xeta GLG. It is one month old now and I drove 1000 Km. Let me place my experience which may of much use of a newbie. General: Audio System: Due to my tight budget I installed front door speakers and Unbranded CD audio system with remote & having AM/FM,CD, USB and Memory Card reading facility. It is running fine till date. Memory card is more useful and easy to handle than Pen drive. Remote Electronic Locking: I installed Nippon system from TASC on the same day. It is going good except It was giving Multiple chirps while locking after parking the vehicle. This is the sign that either doors is opened or some other error is there. Problem solved by service Engineer during the first free service. Actually in GLG the it requires 5 seconds for door lamp to shut down. If we press the button before 5 seconds it give multiple chirps and if we press the lock button after 5 seconds one single chirp is there. Front Power Windows: It is good option. I can put the window glass up & down with ease. But a negative factor is also there. It is not operational without putting ignition Key on. In hot season one has to bear the brunt of heat upto the time you put open handle/gear lock, ignition key, on and pressing of button. 2 to 3 minutes in heat chamber. In manual operation it is take less time. I feel that these may be delinked from ignition key control and should be operative with ignition key at off position. I may get the power windows for back doors also. Head light Control: Tata has given a good option in their cars. Head light are operative only with ignition key at on. This is very useful option. In my previous vehicle It happens many times during rainy season or at heavy rain pour, I forget to switch off the head lights due to haste . resulting the battery discharged and forced start(Dhakka Start). Wipers: Tested in One of the rainy day recently. Working fine. Doors Operation: No problem except thud like sound while normal closing. Closing sound is not smooth as Maruti/ hyundai vehicles have. Gear Shifting: Gears are smooth, Not require any effort and is as usual as all petrol vehicle have. The metallic handle knob is not a good provision as per Indian condition. It become very hot in the vehicles which park in sun and most probably this will be abnormally cooler in winter season. I have to get it changed. Tata should take care off this provision in future cars. Engine Running: No problem except the vehicle stuck at night 10 PM near my home on the day I got fixed the Audio system. Check Engine Light was not showing during ignition. TASC people called and Vehicle was towed to service station by them. Got back the vehicle next day at 9.30 AM. As per Tasc Service engineer, some electrical coupling gets loosened during fixing of audio system. I also got a call from Tata people to know the service experience of the dealer within three hours. It was a good gesture on part of Tata. No other problem faced till date. Engine sound is smooth and almost negligible at idle speed. Fuel Efficiency: Got checked it give 13 to 14 KM/l with 50 % AC. Still not used to gear shifting. Generally forget to use 5th gear. I am now paying attention to use 5th gear as soon as I can to get better fuel efficiency. Driving Comforts: It is comfortable. Less jerks. AC power is good. Keeping blower at 1 to have a feeling of Morning cool blowing air and enjoy music. Openness feeling is there while driving. Family members enjoy riding. No negative comments so far from them. Registration Problem: You cannot find engine No. engraving in the engine compartment. Registration clerk refused initially to accept application without pencil print of engine No. After intervention of other applicants of Indica he satisfied that Tata only pit Chassis No in metallic Tag in Engine compartment. Got registeration No. this week. Experience at Service Centre: On 10th May, my vehicle completed one month and I got a call from Dealer, Joshi Autozone, on 9th as a reminder. I went to service station on 12th at 9.30 AM. Service Engineer Insisted that I shall use some Tata approved Engine oil additive and Petrol additive costing 699 and 500 bucks each. I was not kept my self pre-ready for such type of queries. After some thoughts I agreed to go for petrol additive. Washing and cleaning work is done satisfactory. No other work required to be done. Got back vehicle after two hours. No bad experience so far except the additive found to be costly. Plan to buy and put additive my self for future use. After sale service is good so far. Expecting a call from Tata also, but not get till date. Additional Accessories Required : There is no space to put Bisleri/Mineral water bottle in the car. It is a must requirement. Tata must try to add this feature in the coming models and may provide at cost in older models. Dear friends, I shared my one month experience with you all. I Hope you find it useful. Regards Nirmal Kumar Xeta GLG, FE 13.5 with 50 % AC till dateGood interiors, Good style.spacious , good diving comforts, good ACLess fuel economy
