      Hi

I have been an owner of Tata Cars for past few years. Recently I had bought this New V2 Turbo in Jun'07 with much expectation. Though the car has proved to be good, but my experience with the dealer has been a nightmare. Tata's as it seems do not care much about what their customers are recieving from the dealers, even my mails to the Tata Customer support has not been of much use. Before my recent experience with their dealer from Noida, Nawab Motors I have been a loyal fan of the Tata name.

The experience with the car has been satisfying, giving me good mileage and preformance has been good too. I would have recomended this car but for the Dealers that Tata has.

I have promised never to buy a Tata car again in my life. Coming from Jamshedpur, city of Tata's belive me I really trusted them.

GOOD LUCK to all Planning to Buy TATA Cars, God Save YOU!

I get a milage of 12.5 kms/Ltr of petrol out of the 1200 cc engine. I have measured accurately. This is averge of City(40%) + Highway(60%) driving. Now I have run 1500 kms. And my car enginner says that I will get more milage upto 14 kms/Ltr after 7000km once all enigne parts become more free. That is max what I can expect. Everyone loves the internal space and comfert. People are shocked to know that this car is cheaper than Alto by 20000 Rs. The engine is so silent that I cannot notice its running sometimes. The car needs to be driven slowly at the sharp turns, as u can expereince the low stability of the car and u fear that it could topple. I have reached top speed of 125 km/hr on mumbai pune exp highway. At that speed the vibration is not much, if it is then its due to the bad road quality. I was planning to go for diesel version, but all people forced me to buy a petrol version. for the following reason. 1) High Comfert, less vibration 2) Low maintainence cost. and NIL maintainence. 3) I travel abroad frequently, hence my car could be idle for months. In such case the petrol engine is good. Diesel engine can give some problems. 4) I save from the high initial investment of 75000 more for diesel engine. 5) I can drive 17,500 kms in xeta, for the extra cost of 75000 that i would have spent on diesel engine. I love my car, its the best thing that ever happend to me. I will recommend this car to anyone who dosent care about fuel economy and care about comfert and space.spacious and comfertable, very silent and smooth, goodpickupfuel economy.

Hi to my readers, Its been about 1 1/2 yrs since i got my 1st car on my own.  Its an INDICA V2 DLS turbo.   My Dad’s previous cars are Maruthi 800 and his current car Santro and not to forget my very fisrt car which got me the License to DRIVE “Standard 10".  Coming back to indica.  They way i look at is you get what you pay for, and no complains i got what i paid for.  Since this is what i can afford, and i'm happy and contended with.  I've clocked about 15K + over this period and had a long haul from Chennai to cochin and back..without a glitch and very often i take the car on long haul between Chennai to Chidambaram and also down south.  I get a modest mileage of about 19-21km/ltr with occasional AC on, as my driving in the highway stood between 90 to 110 kms and city between 30 to 50 kms.  I spend a good lot of time shining my little bird and giving a good care and treating it as my pal.  My only feel is that TATA"S could have put some decent interiors which i really felt its FAR below standards. Lot of people criticised about my decision but i stood since I can only afford that...beggars cant be choosers as the saying goes and i wanted a family car that would take me to places and also give me a worth for money.   Well i really loved AVEO UVA style and was talking to my wife about buying one but only money constraints.  Affordability is one thing and liking is another.  I wish they bring crossover car's like HHR (Chevrolet) or PT cruiser (Chrysler) which I would love to see on the Indian roads as it looks more macho and more aesthetic and something that i would cherish and love to own one in the due course if they ever get launched in Indian market.  I’m sure the competition and the general people’s mind set would change forever if Chevrolet or Chrysler brings in crossover cars like HHR or PT cruiser.  I would rather have opinion poll conducted by Chevrolet to launch such vehicle as it would stir a new competition in the crossover segment as we only have Ford Fusion (not a full crossover) in that segment.

You get what you pay forVery ordinary interiors.

Exterior Just looks cute.May look Taxi-Image to some people. The rear is better and cuter than my Swift. My new Indica is cute and chubby like my i-10 Kappa2(VTVT).The front of my Suzuki Swift VXi 1.2 BS-IV looks awkward and the Indica looks cute. The Alto K10,Santro,Spark and Estilo are flimsy except the Spark, which, though not as much tough like the Indica,is just a solid car of its own.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The interior looks boring in that black colour. My i-10 s' interior is better than the Indica. But the power windows,AC and power steering are good but no ABS,Airbags safety features .It is packed with a decent boot and spacious rear seat. The Indica s' rear seat;is better than my Swift. The rear seat is very comfortable.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Smooth engine and good fuel economy. The gearbox is crispier than my Swift. The engine is not bad and the Alto K10 is peppier but the Indica is good.

Ride Quality & Handling The ride is a bit choppy but not much like my Maruti Swift.Good handling.

Final Words If this car was boring, then I could have bought Alto K10.But instead you will feel that the Alto K10 is very flimsy.Messing up to Santro,Wagon-R,Estilo or Alto K10 will be that all are flimsy.Indica suits my requirements.Indica is a trueblue car.I have a Furnace Red Indica which looks good.

Areas of improvement The fit amd finish are not up to the mark,Plasticky interior must be replaced by a beige colour.

Cute looks,Price,Boot Space,VFM SparesFit and finish-Just is very odd like my Swift 1.2 VXi

Well, I have been driving Xeta GLX for about 4 months now. Driven over 6000 Kms. No major complaints so far. Using normal petrol and getting about 12 Kmpl City, 15 Kmpl Hwy 100% AC. Dealership and workshop experience both very good. Very stable on roads at high speeds or while cornering. Nice legroom (both front and back). Easy to maneuver in city traffic.

Tyres could have been bigger (R14), Compared to other vehicles in this segment, power steering and gear shift bit hard. Plastics should be improved. Has cab image attached to it now.

Overall for a price around 3.75 Lakh on road, this is value for money. Would recommend Xeta anytime.

Comfortable, powerful, very stable on roadsCab image :-), Poor plastic quality, okay finish

Initially I had my jitters when i got it new. That time it gave me a milage of 11.5 to start with. Now after running 4500 km its giving me a good milage of 14.+ kms. I am a very happy driver now. What more can i get for a cost of 2.89 lks ? Powersteering and AC + internally adjustable side mirrors. I had comapred all the cars, and cars who are 4+ lks have such features. Space is good for that cost. I have no jitters now, just peace of mind. The next thing i realised is that the fender area near the tyres is embossed with a plastic part, which could be a candidate for early wear since its plastic and its fitting revel gaps. Rest I have nothing to complain about. I get 14+ km/ltr in city + highway in Pune. what more can i expect ?my knees hit the dash board while i drive, i hate that one only.

I have bought Indica-V2-DLG-Turbo on Nov15th 2007.Earlier i had Indica DLS 2001, Yes I can feel the huge difference in the new Turbo charged, If you put on the AC in the heavy traffic you don't feel that there is a load on engine as it use to be there in older versions of Indica. The engine performance has improved i can reach 100KMS with in 56sec.I Belive that is faster then any other car in that segment. Fuel Economey is always a plus point in Indica iam getting 18kms/ltr in city & 24.7 on Highway. But only i felt is the engine noise that should have been reduced little bit, Otherwise its really true value for money with power pack.

Excellant improvement in the engine performance with Turbo charged

      Exterior

       Good..

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Poor plastic quality - A/C Switches and dashboard plastic has poor quality. Gear handle looses the sticker every now and then.. poor rubber bidding on the doors.. Poor quality of the rear seat locks.. list is endless

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

Fuel economy of 12 km/ltr without AC - lowest in its category

      Ride Quality & Handling

Lot of rattling noise from the exhaust.. horrible noise from the engine.. wind cutting noise ( i had tried to get these problems fixed but have not got anything fixed yet for last 3 yrs).

Power steering had to be replaced twice.. No proper check by workshop people.. Car had broke down because of short circuit and the radiator fuse had blown..

Pathetic service and the workshop folks are highly unprofessional.. Had written several mails to Tata senior officers ( including Girish Deshpande) but nothing had helped!

      Final Words

Please think twice before you go for Tata cars
