      well I bought the new petrol superb in march 2009. Initially the ac gave me a lot of trouble . Numerous trips to the workshop and certain part changed finally ac was repaired to some extent. Rear passangers still sweat. Now the car done 7500kms suddenly stopped in middle of road in delhi on 9th august night. Car could not be started, moved or pushed. Finally next morning the car had to be towed. Now I am worried abot my family's safety and security in this car. What if this had happened at high speed or on a highway. Worse still what if had been overtaking at that point of time on a highway. To my surprise one of the senior skoda india officer gave a surprisingly inhuman reply that they are not concerned with this issue. Initially because of ac problem car spent more than 2 weeks in workshop. now for current joj it already has been a week and skoda sya that will take minimum 10 more days. On my telling them to refund my money or vhange the car they do not even reply to my mails. A new so called luxory car spwnds nearly 25%  of time of imitial ownership in workshop AMAZING QUALITY!!!!!!!fair fuel economy, great styleAc is not good specially for rear and reliabilty of the car is ZERO

      I had purchased a new Skoda Superb and have been facing issues with it since the day purchased.

      Make: Skoda Superb(Ha-51-AF-8020)

      Service Dealer: Skoda - Continental Auto Services-Mathura Road – New Delhi 110044

      The Vehicle handed over to us without PDI and engine was very noisy (Bought from Arshia Motors), finally they gave us another piece instead of what they gave us because of this almost after 10-15 days.

      Since then twice the horn got replaced by (Arshia Motors & Giriraj Motors) but still creating problem, which I am very much shocked in two month two twice the horn got replaced and still not working. Arshia Motors says they don’t have horn in stock and we are not getting it from Skoda Auto as well. This problem happened since the 25 day of purchase. I am regularly in touch with Mr. Rohit (Service Adviser). (The world Famous Company SKODA AUTO). Presently it’s under warranty till its ok, but what after warranty?

      Presently the biggest hassle at the moment is the smoke that it gives. A SUPERIOR CAR GIVING SMOKE is a surprise the Continental Auto Services employees have no answer instead they call me regularly to have some test’s done on my brand new car. Why these tests can’t be done at the first place before the launch of the car.

      They have done a complete diagnosis and analysis of the concern but there is no fix to the issue and instead now they say they have to dismantle the head assembly. What a solution they want to open the engine of a luxury car in less than 6 months.

      Dealing with these people I clearly see that there is no after sales service provided by SKODA INDIA and they are just making a fool/mockery of the customer. I have been asked numerous times to leave the car for tests and have done so without any positive results. They on keeping my car do not give a replacement for it which is again a pain.

      Please see the corrupt practices going on at Škoda Auto India Pvt. Ltd. They are not willing to come on record and say anything.

      Help me friends to get justice from Škoda Auto India Pvt. Ltd either a replacement or refund. Škoda Auto India Pvt. Ltd is not interested to answer most of my queries even though this is their top of the line 7* rated product

      I have 2 Skoda Superb Cars in my family. On 7th May 2011, barely in 14 months after the purchase, the car had a major Gearbox problem and had a breakdown on my way. This same problem had occurred in past with the other Skoda Superb car. Such sudden major breakdown could have caused accident and cost our lives.

      I do not believe that Skoda supplies defective cars, but having the same problem in both the cars gives a picture of defective supply and cannot be an exception.

      We strongly believe that Skoda has been ignoring the quality assurance test and releasing the cars in defective condition. Skoda’s commitment for trouble-free performance has failed and our trust of safety with such a reputed brand has shattered. Even the Service Centre has harassed us. We have been using many brands like Toyota, Honda and Mitsubishi but had never ever faced such a problem with any of these cars.

      THIS IS A RUBBISH CAR.

      I purchased second hand October 2010 model Skoda Superb 1.8 TSI AT car from Mr. Anil Shamjibhai Patel of Surat. On very third day after running for just 150 km including 100 km for bringing car from Surat to Valsad the car stopped with display that the "Gear Box is over heated". The car could not move at all. So I call the Skoda Authorized dear - Torque Automotive, Surat and I was informed that the failure is due to Mechatronics. I was told that changing the same will cost Rs. 1.90 lakh. When I inquired about the guarantee, surprisingly I was informed that the kilometre is tempered so Skoda company can't give any guarantee on new parts replacement. It is difficult to know whether the kilometers are tempered in very good looking second hand cars. Now my car is in the Skoda workshop - I am worried whether to make payment of 1.90 lakh and get it repaired for which I have paid premium price for the good condition or forget the car because I don't know whether it will run smoothly later. I request all buyers of second hand cars to get the car checked by authorized workshop before buying such premium cars to save yourself from getting cheated and in the condition in which I am today. Because tempering with kilometer is actually a crime, but I have paid money so now nothing could be done.Good exterior & styleWorst mechatronics

      Hi Everyone,

       

      I booked a Skoda Superb 1.8 TSI AT on 2nd December 2010, after canceling my former choice a Honda Accord AT. Initially, I was hesitant. After all, the horrific stories of Skoda After-Sales & Support is quite popular. Hence my initial choice was Honda Accord 2.4 AT. I also own a Honda City, 1.5 Exi Since July 2000, and their service quality has never let me, or my car down till date.

      I had also booked the Accord, but just for satisfying my internal feeling that 'The Accord can't beaten', i went to Autobahn Skoda, and took a test drive of the Skoda Superb 2.0 AT TDI (Diesel).

      The result - I was blown away! Skoda Superb is an incredibly fast, stable, luxurious (far more than the Accord), feature rich, strong vehicle. It is a vehicle in which you can be a CEO in the morning, and racer-boy by night. One could drive her for a thousand kiometeres, and neither the car nor you would feel tired. It has the feel you would get in a German make vehicle, and, at a Rs. 10 lakh lesser than the Germans (Mercedes, Audi, BMW).

      The suspension setup is perrrrrrrfect for indian roads, and the cabin space, rear legroom, front legroom, are all, by far, the best in its class (rivaling ofcourse, the Mercs and Audis). The Vehicle is feature rich, from an inbuilt bluetooth / touch-screen audio system, to Adaptive Front Head Lights, to Hill Descend Control, and many more, all of which you will not get in the Accord. 

      The test-drive guy went so far as to run the car over a medium sized speed-breaker with three other passengers in the car, at 120 kmph! And, there was not even a slight jerk. With its saftety features, it is highly unlikely that a person could die in the event of the car crashing in a bad situation. 

      As far as the service is concerned, Skoda Mumbai (Autobahn and JMD) have opened around 5 new outlets to meet with the increasing demand. Thus technically, they can provide a better service than what they used to with only 2 outlets. Yes, the Honda Service is absolutely relaxed, but upon observation, the Skoda Service today ain't so bad either.

      The Accord, on the other hand is a more relaxed drive. Its more calm, quiet, and something you wouldn't have the heart to race in, if at all there is place for the feel of racing. The Accord is larger than the Superb on the outside, but on the inside, the Superb is larger, more comfortable, more upmarket, more lively.

       

      BUT.....

       

      Today is Monday, 28/02/2011.
      Three months, and to this day, AutoBahn Skoda has not yet recieved Skoda Superb from Skoda India Pvt Ltd. I've done numerous visits, phonecalls, expressing dissapointment, even repenting my decision now, and to no avail. I don't blame Autobahn, or JMD (I also tried at JMD to see if I could get it earlier here), but Skoda India Pvt Ltd. After they released their Superb in 2009, they could see that it is doing really well. They could have shipped their CKD units from Czech to India in-order to meet up with the demand. or were they fu**king asleep??? The latest i get to hear is that some units "WILL BE RECEIVED IN THE COMING 14 DAYS"

      Keeping the Skoda timing record, 14 Days = 20 Days. Also, after Autobahn gets the vehicle, then comes the Registration, Insurance, Road Tax, Blah Blah. This translates to 7 days more

      In effect, I should expect my vehicle between the 27th to 31st March 2011.

      4 months in total. 

      Conclusion:

      If you are that type of person who has the money/can afford the loan, for a Rs.25 lakh car, and want to buy a car within 2 to 3 weeks... SKODA IS NOT FOR YOU,

      Go for the Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata, Toyota Camry, whichever one you like.

       

      If however, you can wait for a never-ending time period to get that one car which impressed you, has it all, and your patience does not turn to anger, then the SKODA IS DEFINITELY for you.

      Here's a car that has averything a man wants in a car.. 8 airbags,Tweleve speakers, touchscreen centre console for the audio, sunroof, leather interiors, ABS, EBD, ESP and what not.. This has a cabin space more than an E Class.. But what matters is the drive and mind it guys. IT'S AWESOME... the control it has on the normal mode is awesome.. did not try the sports mode as of yet..worth each an every penny of it, conidering the price.. For me it's a better buy than beamer 5 series base or the Merc E base.. both are 36L and 38L respectively while this one is 19L and equally large.. IF u want a car this size and at this price.. this is the best one.. Else look BMW wards.. well Hodna and toyota are not in the league.. they are light weight and does not drive as good too..Loaded With Features.. U name it, u've got it..Interiors available only in beige across all colors..

      This is a fantastic car in all respects - if it works. A car that I purchased doesnt work at all - it has spent 7 months in the dealership in the past 3 years, and they still haven't found the problem with it - key components like the sump, intercooler, gearbox, fluid oil circuit etc have all been identified as a problem one time or another - but still we sit 3 years and over hundred respectful emails to the company later, with a car that still doesn't work. 

      Every car has some problems or the other. The problem with my superb is that it doesn't work - which I would think is a serious enough problem to have. 

      Every car company has problems. The problem with this company is that they have been delaying acting on the car since 3 years, and the CEOs, directors or any senior staff have not replied to >10 communications sent to them. Every company has problems - the character of a company is tested by how it reacts to customers who have problems. This one doesnt seem to. 

      Buy the car with care - its a fantastic car - but if it turns out that there is a problem with it - you could be stuck with a paperweight that costs Rs. 20 Lakh.

      THE SAME PROBLEM OF STALLING ABRUPTLY OCCURED THE SECOND TIME. THE VEHICLE HAS RUN JUST 40000 KMS. GUYS, ITS A MECHATRONIC FAILURE WHICH IS THE HEART OF THE CAR. I FEEL SKODA IS CHEATING CLIENTS BY SUPPLYING A SUB STANDARD MACHINE. IN ADDITION BEWARE BUYERS YOU NEED TO TOP UP ENGINE OIL EVRY 500 TO 800 KMS WHICH THEY SAY IS A PART OF THE MANUAL. SO EVERY TIME YOU BUY A SKODA CAR PLEASE GO THRO THE 500 PAGE MANUAL CAREFULLY WORD BY WORD FOR HIDDEN CONDITIONS. PERHAPS THERE MAYBE A CLAUSE TO EXPECT A BREAKDOWN EVERY 10000 KMS. A WHITE ELEPHANT IS EASIER TO MANAGE. All Skoda superb owners need to unite in this fight for justice at a time when other companies recall cars for issues as trivial as faulty mirrors. In our case its the heart.

      Final Words NEVER BUY A SKODA PRODUCT UNLESS YOU HAVE SURPLUS MONEY TO WASTE.

      Having recently purchased the Skoda Superb 1.8 petrol (magic black), i can vouch for the "superb" feeling inside the car. Its unfortunate that i love driving else would love to be just at the back seat and stretch my legs as far in front as possible!

      Great ride quality and the looks which it gets when parked at my office is worth all the money that i coughed up for this beauty. The lighting (my nephew was updating my sister that "mamas" car has lights anywhere and everywhere )takes the cake and evenings are the best time to show this car to friends/ family as the lights create a really plush feel.

      The Sales team was excellent (Skoda JMD at Vashi - Ms Swati).

      Today drove the E280 and yes in comparison the ride quality was not as good (Merc is great).. but you cant compare a E-Merc to a Superb (almost 22 L onroad to 45L). Having said that, the interiors of the Superb are definitely better and the legroom of the Superb is far far better than even the E-series.

      Am really happy that i bought the Skoda Superb as against the Accord (price wise the right comparison i guess) as genuinely the Accord has absolutely no "gadgetery" associated with it!Superb gives you Sun/Moon roof (my 4 year old daughters favorite)/ excellent touch screen audio system with controls on the steering wheel/ fantastic boot space (with twin door opening)/ ABS/ EBD/ Traction control/ 8air bags/ parktronic for parking, etc it has everything that you could wish for and at an amazing price point!

      Wish the Indian version had the "park assist" as against the "parktronic". Parkassist is a feature in the international Skoda which automatically does parallel parking and would have loved to get that gadget in the car. Also wish they had provided a GPS system (am tugging my standalone GPS with this car). Also rear passengers miss audio control at the back (which am really surprised that they have not provided considering they have thought of every minute comfort detail)

      (Unfortunately had a minor accident (which made me visit their Kandivali workshop) as some nut banged his car from the left into my car when i was taking a right turn - within 15 days of me buying the car. And being a car lover have had 2-3 sleepless nights contemplating how i could have avoided the accident. Whoever sees the damage clearly feels i am overreacting as only two very small cracks have appeared in the front bumper which are not visible at all.). Wish they would do something about their service centre (as had a Honda prior to this and they had an excellent service center with a lovely lounge - Lalbaug, Mumbai ). Yes, all highend car manufactures fleece you as they only believe in replacing anything which has the slightest of dents. Thats where i miss my age old Maruti or Palio who could be repaired and cost virtually nothing! But will not pass an opinion on their after sales service at this point as its honestly early days. They definitely could have been better in their behaviour when their "top-end" car drives into their workshop :-)

      Exterior The exterior looks very good with good design and presentation.

       

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The interior color scheme and feel is very good. Internal features are excellent.

       

      Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Had issues with engine performance. Fuel consumption is high and there has been frequent problems with the gearbox.

       

      Ride Quality & Handling Good.

       

      Final Words Looks good, but had serious issues with after sales support and service. Skoda India is unable to support this car in India and an average downtime is 2-3 weeks or more for a fault.

       

      Areas of improvement Skoda India is unable to effectively fulfil its post sales support and warranty undertakings. The dealers are expressing their inability and helplessness to deal with Skoda's poor quality of support to these cars. Further, Skoda is unable to explain and address the concerns and often ignores customer feedback. The management comes across as very unresponsive and indifferent. We have experienced an average downtime fo 2-3 weeks due faulty gearbox and electronics several times, prompting a decision to sell the car.
