Skoda Superb [2009-2014] User Reviews

Poor car quality Inspite of getting serviced from skoda authorised dealers . Every month some of the other parts invites unavoidable cost which is crazy . Prefer a BMW or merc as driven before and far better low on pocket unlike skoda superb. Has a lot of features however whts the point of having this features when most of the time it breaks down

Exterior Not a dynamic look, lot of scope for Aero dynamic improvement.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) No navigation, lousy system, back seats are not comfortable for long drives. People feel like throwing up.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox OIL leaks, needs to be refilled every month. Serious transmission issues. Car suddenly jerks and drives very rough on highways. VERY DANGEROUS with cars following at high speeds.

Ride Quality & Handling Car jams on the highways, drives very roughly.  Skoda is not able to identify the issue nor is able to fix them.  They said it might be clutch issues, replacing is 85,000. will not guarantee that will fix it.

Final Words Not worth the money.  Lot of hassle with the dealer on giving a easy solution.  They keep the car for lot of days every time I gave, customer support is not responsive.

Areas of improvement I am not sure where to start.  First, if they can have the present customers at least half happy, we can talk about any further improvements.

Leg spaceSerious engine issues, OIL Leaking, Transmission issues etc. Skoda not able to fix nor will replace.

Final Words . The car fregently get stop in mids of driving on the road. It is most unreliable to drive. you do not when this will be stopped. My famiuly scared of this car and decided not to us. Once I was returing from last show  movie and the car did not satrted- there is no backupo supoport from dealer. Faced lot embrassment and it was nightmare. returned home in taxi ar 3 am in the morning. Never had such bad experience im my 30 years of driving. 

 

Areas of improvement  No one should buy this car if you want peace of mind. I am repenting why I took decision .

I called several times to Pradipto  and all the call remained un responded. I have  communicated  to him on 8th of October from the Road that my car is giving signal to sent the Car to workshop - ESP Error and the car stopped as the Emergency Number was picked by a drunken person.  

Again I asked Pradipto to pick the car to inspect but he said the workshop is closed for Puza holidays and will open on 15th October. I am not able to use this car during these days when I needed the most and have to hire the car- I am not sure how you are handling with the emergency situation. 

Today also I called the service center to pick the car and I have been told that no driver is available. Many drivers resigned or gone on leave. Really pathetic service and I wonder why you sell the car when you are not able to provide services. 

The car is again malfunctioning and which is beyond the commitment given by you people  in series of trailing mail enclosed herewith. Request you to advise your dealer to look into the matter and arrange for the replacement as since from the beginning this car is giving trouble and have  manufacturing defect.. There is no reliability of this car.

spaciousTechnically defective car, worst back up service support

Exterior Nothing much to complain about. Does have a luxury-car look to it. However with the launch of the Rapid, both cars look almost similar from the front (not to an authomobile enthusiast - but to a common man)

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Everything is amazing. Sound system is just simply Superb! Rear seat space - Superb! Features of convenience - Superb!  

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox For a car of this size and 160 bhp on tap - I get anywhere between 11 and 15 on the highways and just below 10 inside the city. Gearbox! Ha - the touchy factor. 7-Speed DSG gearbox's WERE prone to their meachatronics failing.  I am assuming this problem in the mechatronics unit is fixed (can anyone validate that?)

But - for driving the 7-Speed DSG is in a class of its own. Absoultely no feel of gear shifts. Instant power on demand!

Ride Quality & Handling Nothing to complain about.  

Final Words If at all one can get the assurance that the mechatronics problem in the DSG is fixed - I would say that this car is better VFM than our 3 german friends - including the A6, 5-series and E-class.

Exterior Looks smart.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very good.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine guzzles 1.5 Liter /6000 KM., fuel consumption 7 KM/liter on highway,,Battery failure in 4 months of new car purchase. Takes 5 days to replace under warranty. After sales service is very poor. The Company gives no importance to Complaint re-dressal. My Battery went dead after 4 months of use and the company were unable to provide a replacement battery for 5 days. The car guzzles fuel and the service center can not rectify the problem. There is heavy oil consumption and after only 6000 Km I had to spend Rs.1400/- to top up the oil. The service is so bad - at Jai Auto it took 3 hours to just top up the engine oil. I will never recommend Skoda to any car buyer.

Ride Quality & Handling Suspension very hard and bumpy.Unable to drive smoothly because of hard bumps. Even the small 2" plastic speed breakers give a huge bump to the passengers.

Final Words Service back up is a disaster. No satisfactory after sales service.

Areas of improvement Needs better Batteries, better engine, and better suspension. The cost of maintenance and service is the highest in the industry.

Interior design and seating comfort, controls are all very good.Suspension is very, very bad. The fuel consumption is very poor - only 7 KM /liter on open roads.

Exterior Superb looks. Deserves the name Superb.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Limousine like space for the rear passengers. Even the front seats are comfortable. Have loads of features, Navigation system should have been a standard function for the top end models. Lacks lumber support on the rear seat. Lacks bottle holder on the rear part of the car.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Refined Diesel Engine. Fuel economy in the city abt 10-11kpl and 16kpl on highways. This is my personel experience. Smooth DSG gearbox. excellent torque. The car just flies like a rocket when driven in Sports mode.

Ride Quality & Handling Smooth ride and Superb handling. Good Suspension. Very sturdy and stable at high speeds.

Final Words Value for money, Anytime better than its competitors.

Areas of improvement Skoda should make sure that they train their Sale and service representatives in a professional and skilled manner. If they improve on this they can be the best brand in India.

Exterior Good design, looks very elegant and the size is imposing.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very good in terms of appointments, comfort, spacious, technology but all of this is only superficial because Skoda does not stand behind their products.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Very poor not to say terrible. It is all over-rated.  Performance is based on Mekatronic and this is a real lemmon. I had mine replaced twice.  The engine was overhauled within 24 months based on oil leaks.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is good however the handling is not very precise. A bit on the loose side.

Final Words Dont spend well earned money on this brand. Just the mere fact that manufacturer cannot provide adecuate support totally demerits the car performance. There is no way to support a manufacturer that does not communicate with consumers. Very poor communication with the consumer and very poor performance and follow thru from the dealer.

Areas of improvement Technical and mechanical support, without this, you might as well sell cheap disposable cars. This car brand cannot be exported and is only good for their own market.  Their customer service is so poor and lacks empathy with consumers. With this lack of empathy who could spend money on a vehicle based on these facts.
