BMW 330i Gran Turismo M Sport explained in detail

BMW India has launched the new M Sport variant of the 3 Series Gran Turismo at Rs 49.40 lakhs (ex-showroom all-India). The new 330i M Sport sits above the 330i Luxury Line variant in the 3 Series GT line-up. The 330i Gran Turismo M Sport gets all the additional features as seen on the 330i M Sport of the standard 3 Series sedan.

In the M Sport trim, the Gran Turismo gets a gloss-back kidney grille. The wheels are 18-inch M-Star spoke alloy wheels with M badging on the sides. There are a few aerodynamic updates like a tweaked bumper and side skirts to add to the sportier stance. The exhaust pipes are highlighted in a chrome finish. BMW has also provided the 330i M Sport with an M-strip key fob. The new BMW 330i Gran Turismo M Sport can be had in Alpine White as a non-metallic colour and Estoril Blue as metallic colour.

Inside the cabin, the M Sport comes with a new range of leather upholstery. The choices of leather which are offered include Dakota Veneto beige with oyster dark highlight, Veneto beige and leather Dakota cognac with brown highlight, or just all-black upholstery. The multifunctional leather-wrapped steering wheel is M-spec as well. The Anthracite headliner and M-door sills complete the M Sport package. BMW also provides a heads-up display for the 330i M Sport trim. The 10-inch infotainment system comes with navigation, smartphone connectivity and BMW apps.

Powering the new 330i Gran Turismo M Sport is the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 252bhp and 350Nm. The transmission is an eight-speed automatic with paddle shifters. The Bavarian carmaker claims a fuel economy of 15.34kmpl for the Gran Turismo. The M Sport also comes with a cruise control and braking function as standard.

BMW provides the 330i Gran Turismo M Sport with six airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with brake assist, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC). There are three driving modes, auto start-stop, Cornering Brake Control (CBC), side-impact Protection, ISOFIX mounting, run-flat tyres, emergency spare wheel, electronic vehicle immobiliser and crash sensors.

For the price of the BMW 330i Gran Turismo M Sport, one can opt for high-riding vehicles like the Land Rover Evoque SE Dynamic, BMW X3 28i xLine or the Mercedes-Benz GLC 300Sport. Tree huggers can have a hybrid Honda Accord sedan for a lot less, while the other executive sedans like the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Jaguar XE or Audi A4 come as a safer bet. With a little extra cash, the recently launched Audi A5 is also a fresh and direct alternative to the 3 GT.
