Tata Motors has announced that the New Tata Sumo Gold priced at Rs 5.93 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) is now available at the company’s showrooms across the country. The SUV was unveiled at the Horizonext event in July.
The new Tata Sumo Gold is available in five variants - GX, FX, EX, LX and CX and four colours namely Blazing Red, Twilight Grey Arctic Silver and Porcelain White.
A renewed front grill adds to the aggression of the new Sumo Gold. The vehicle’s new headlight design works in tandem with high powered forward fog lamps. There are also some new graphics on the front and back of the vehicle.
Changes to the Sumo Gold include wooden center console, plush fabrics, engine immobiliser with a key, dual AC- a first in the segment, power windows, audio system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity and power steering as well.
The Sumo Gold will continue to be powered by the 3.0-litre diesel mill that produces 69PS and 223Nm of torque or 84 PS and 250Nm depending on BS3 or BS4 compliance. Alloy wheels are an optional extra at the dealer level for the Sumo Gold.

He went on to add, “The new offering is a result of extensive consumer studies and field tests to fulfill various requirements, long-awaited by the new generation customer."
This means that the car is ready and is already available on sale at the dealerships closest to you. Now it remains to be seen whether or not the upgraded Tata Sumo Gold changes the sales figures for Tata Motors for the better.
