Ford Fiesta SXI-1.6 - This car I'm driving since March 2008. When I bought this car the only inhibition in my mind was market rumors that Ford maintenance and parts are costly. But for me honestly this car proved to be the best car in the segment (Sedan-Diesel-7 to 10 Lac price) and a true value for money. An insight.
Pros:
1. Comfortable driving position - road view is real clear.
2. Best mileage in class - my car gives 19 in city and 21 on highways with AC on. Real value for money.
3. Top of the class leather upholstery – seats, steering and door panels.
4. Ford 6 CD - 6 speaker music system with RDS radio – excellent surround sound.
5. Super silent diesel TDCI engine.
6. 1.4 Lt TDCI diesel Engine carries much torque - never leaves you underpowered, much responsive.
7. All interiors are of prime finish, decently located at arm’s reach.
8. Height adjustable river seat.
9. Height adjustable steering.
10. Rich gloss finish middle console.
11. Comfortable arm rest on rear seat with 2 cup-holders.
12. Useful 2 reading lights over rear seats - boon to rear passengers’ sply kids.
13. Glove box is spacious with lid controlled interior light.
14. A utility storage box under steering - to store light items like keys, travel knives, compass, currency change, etc.
15. Spacious boot to carry loads of family baggage.
16. Front and rear fog-lamps - very useful.
17. Strong headlights with each unit having 2 bulbs. This means super strong 6 lights on road at night if you drive fog lamps on.
18. ABS is much responsive – can rely on curves, wet roads or rainy days.
19. Airbags are good safety feature for you and family.
20. Rear seats folds two way - creates massive storage area or 2 adults can easily sleep in the area created.
21. Remote boot opener through keys is very comfortable.
22. Front door pockets easily hold 2 Lt Pet bottles for long drives.
23.Powerful AC with full heating and cooling function.
24. DTE (Distance to empty) meter is much useful and correct. No need to check fuel gauge and keep guessing.
25. Service cycle is every 10000 kms with avg cost of Rs. 4000/-.
Cons:
1. 60:40 split lacking in rear seat.
2. Ground clearance in rural (bumpy) roads - city roads no issue.
3. Hook to open bonnet is at front passenger legroom area, creates fuss when driving alone
4.No freezer in glove box - even in top model.
5. No alloy wheels - even in top model.
6. No reverse drive sensors - even in top model.
7.Boot door doesn’t have any finish inside. Just a raw door with a skeletal looks.
Overall: Ford Fiesta is value for money and extremely smooth car. So guys... don't go by market myths... add "Fiesta" to your life.

Not an ugly car.
Modifications needed to make it stand out. (Alloys/ fat rubber/ HID lights etc..)

Comfortable for 4 adults only. Ride is definitly smooth.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Performance is OK. Fuel echonomy is very good if you keep ur self below 120 in highways. If your average speed is between 120 - 150 milage can come down to 13-16 in highways. My poit is that the car is very stable and stress free to keep it running @ 150kmpl entire day. But you will definitly have to compromise on the fuel consumption too on such cases. Gear ration is extremly good. But in city you will find yourself hard to even touch the 3rd gear in the TDCi engines.
Ride Quality & Handling
Ride quality and Handeling is a gem.
Suspensions are good and stable for cornering at high speeds.Trust me, they dont scare you at all.
Rear Shock absorbers are not very reliable. Will need change every 20K kms. But they are not costly. Only Rs. 1200/pair.
Final Words
I have been using a Fiesta 1.4 TDCi (Diesel) since February 2010. I have done around 182K kms till date. My use is normally on the highways as an average of 3500kms per month. I have never faced any issues till the car crossed 100k. Apart from brake pads / rear shock absorbers etc...
Areas of improvement
More room in cabin, seats, smoother steering, etc....
Stability, reliability, milage,Service, Spares cost, Cabin space is comfortable for 4 only.

I have purchased Fiesta 1.6 petrol after reviewing honda city verna and Aveo. Now it has done 250 kms. I have observed that the handling and pickup are very good and the fuel consumption is also seems so far excellent. However the concern is on the service part which other users have written in their observations. Accessories are expensive ( like the side body beadings the dealer quoted RS. 5000 for a set !)
Ford does not maintain the quality in fit and finishing . the roof packing are not sealed at the ends which the dealer has told that for ford vehicles it is like that.

Hi,
I purchased Ford Fiesta Classic CLXI 1.4 Diesel car in 2011 Aug. And in just 2 years (Aug 2013), there is major problem with A/C evaporator /operator unit.
The car was absolutely fine till I gave it for the 4th service in Aug 2013 ( fortune Ford, Abids Service center, Hyderabad) and requested to clean the A/C filters, once it came back from service, A/C worked fine with good perfume smell, however, it slowly stopped chilling effect and finally down.
I gave the car for repairing it, and to my surprise, a car from good renowned manufacturers like Ford, has problem with the CAR A/C unit in just 2 years and it costs me to replace entire unit with no fault of mine.
I have drive car from Maruti, Hyundai before for more thatn 4 yrs and never ever had any issue with the A/C, not even a service done. But fiesta for just after 2 years, Air conditioning system is down and cannot be repaired but to have the evaporator unit get replaced.
I am really not happy with this and I request Ford Mgmt to take this up seriously. If this continues, it will become a standard that a Ford car is not reliable beyond 2 years. Just 2 year is really pathetic.
The AC evaportor/operation unit is 9K, which is even highly priced. Pls. this is India and we expect after sales life of a customer to be little happy.

features are good, space is alittle poor. the seating is very comfortable and driving possition is spot on. all controlls are well within reach and easy to use.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
the 1.4 is alittle underpowered but a very smooth engine, geadbox is very precise and lovely to shift, however it could use a 6th gear for crusing. the fuel economy is fabulous.
Ride Quality & Handling
the ride is very good, handles very well too, you can put it around hard corners fast and it goes where you want it to. you can go over bad roads at 80-100km/h and she takes it beautifully. she is a true stalion

great car shame about the service. love it, it has been a great buy for me

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) There is a manufacturing defect in Ford Fiesta. While we do not use the AC and just use the normal fan it gives the hot air even the cooling mode is on COOL side (i.e. on blue side). It has been discussed several time even with the company also and they are also helpless. Both the company as well dealer gives either no reply or giving excuse they will revert shortly. Further shocking matter is that as per company as well as Dealer it is with all other cars also which is completely wrong.
How can they cheat the customer by giving such a defective product.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engine is very noisy.
Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is not as par the other cars of the same catagory. The shockers are not effectice and generally on bumpy road it is completely ineffective.
Final Words The company,s customer response or customer satisfaction is very very poor.

You don't want to buy this car. It is a not Fida but an ALVIDA CAR for you. I bought it in april 06 & till now have spent approx. a lac of rs. & counting.
The car has a problem of showing the yellow light & then the accelaration goes. Think of you being stuck in wee hours in such situation. I got stuck several times. It is very unrealiable vehicle.
After sales is pathetic south city ford at Delhi/Noida have unskilled workers who have manhandled my car & now they can rectfy it.
Moreoever they will say that they that they have changed a particular part but in reality it was ever changed.
I am fed up with the car.
Only advertisements with abhishek to fool peoplebad engine, sub-standard parts very high maintanence

For such people, Ford has given a performance car (1.6 S) in the truest sense. Unlike other manufactures who give you a silly spolier and alloys to call the version SPORT. Ford has gone the performance way by giving a remapped ECU, a better steering rack and stiffer suspension.
Numbers make no sense, if cant relate to the car..if you cant feel what you drive..if you dont have the confidence to push the car when you approach a corner...You will have to experience it ..with a haart ..a feel the harmones gushing in you..

Driving my fiesta Since Nov. 2009, I started my affair with fiesta from Himalayan Roads and was amzed with the driveability, it was like i knew where all the tyers touching the ground exactly. then very next month Delhi to Ahmedabad in 14 hours touching Around 180 Km/Hr and no issues, I was impressed soo much, earlier i was driving Hyndai Ascent GLE and was never able to cross 160 Mark.
the only thing that there is a less rear legroom, but who cares as I'm always on the Driver seat. Fuel Economy on Petrol is not so good but again I'm not a driver who cares about that, till date no issue with the car apart from minor glitches.
Only car that has overtaken me against my will on highway is AudiQ7, a lovely car,
but ford service is somewhat kind of check whatever is asked, no extra effort, they never check car completely during service, only routine things are done, Like a faulty bulb will always be changed but a noise making belt will not be tightened if not reminded,
