This car was showcased on the shores of Lake Como at this year's Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este and tells the tale of one of the most pivotal moments of the 20th Century. This edition celebrates the iconic transatlantic journey of the contemporaries of Sir Henry Royce, who flew in an aircraft that was powered by a Rolls-Royce engine.
Rolls-Royce marks the 100th year anniversary of this feat with a highly personalized Collection edition of the Wraith. Only 50 units of this collection will be handcrafted and sold.
Exterior appearance of the Wraith Eagle VIII Collection is distinguished by its body colour. It's finished in selby grey upper two-tone scheme with a contrasting brass feature line.
Vanes on the iconic grille up front get a black colour, while the alloy wheels are polished in a translucent shadow finish.
Inside the cabin, this Wraith Eagle gives a different feel altogether. Design-wise, don't expect a change as the layout of the interior remains untouched.
Still, the interior gets brass inserts and is draped in selby grey and black leather. This is mainly to mirror the theme outside.
It's clear, the biggest difference lies in the overall treatment. For example, the brass treatment extends to the speaker covers and even the door panniers.
Commending the achievement of the two pilots who flew across the vast stretch of the Atlantic, is a brass plaque with Sir Winston Churchill's quote on the driver side door.
What's more, a classic piece is the clock that has an iced background effect. It also glows with a faint green light in the night while driving.
