Exterior Looks great, but, lacks practicality.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Tough gear shifting for the relatively small car, difficult turning of stearing wheel that too front wheels not connected to the engine. Wobbles a lot at higher speeds of 60+.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Claims are great. I have done almost 2000 kms on my Nono. But, the claims looks like far from reality. An average of 14 kms. is just a laughing matter. Even autorickshaws give better mileage than this nonsense.

Ride Quality & Handling I enjoy the smallness. But, it stops there. It is just car, nothing more. The vehicle was more than 36 days in their garage in just 5 months. The repeated problems heating was not handled properly. And, they bored the customer with stereo typed SORRYs. Every one talks irresponsible when it comes to NANO. Definitely it is a black mark on the fame of TATA name.

For servicing and testing they used my petrol!!! And, still they said they filled the tank while giving back after all those tiering talks.  And, how about my previous half tank which they used????

AND A PLEASENT SURPRISE: Even after repeated repairs, change overs, none of the fellows at TATA service are boldly confirm "the repeat / re-occurance" of the heating problem.

After a big fight, the dealers provided a courtessy car for last 5 days. But, taken back with half tank of Deisel in it!!!

Final Words It is waste of money. I still feel, TATAs would have stopped at 1 lakh only without trying on the cosmetic variations of CX and LX. The car doesn't fit on to Bangalore Roads. God shold only help to those who take the courage to drive long!!! My biggest stint with the car was 96 kms distance away from Bangalore on a fantastic NH 48. We never enjoyed the journey.

Areas of improvement Engine responsiveness, no quick heating, cool movement on city roads, no back moving on downs while starting at the signals.

Let the technicians understand that customers also have heads:

Ex.: For changing a thermister it taks 16 days!

Ex.: Water was present in petrol tank! That's why engine is getting heated and stops awkwardely. And, takes more than 28 days (barring 5 days of bodyshop work). And, just 900 meters it ran from the garage after 16 days of repair and stops abruptly.

The service people need to be quick and straight. If they can't do service within 48 hours, let them say it and provide a spare car to the customer as courtessy.

      The verdict:
Guys, buy this car if you want waste 2.4 lakhs or have that much of extra unwanted  money! It is not a car! Full of problems add to vows, irresponsible service backup!!! We can tolerate all these only because it is our own product. And, talking about too many useless patents is all bullshit. 😱

Compact, but not economicalLess spacious, no place for luggage, engine heats, irresponsible service, stereo typed responses

Bought a nano CNG Emax in 2014... Have been a die-hard fan from then on. I've had 6-7 other cars till then, but none of them as satisfactory as nano. Total value for money at 29 kmpl petrol, 32kmpl CNG in city. Seats 5 people including driver comfortably. Easy driving in traffic, easy parking on small places. Sadly, met with an almost fatal accident on the highway. However, the mistake was mine and couldn't blame the car... Bought another nano cng emax within 7 days. This car has been my companion and partner from past 5yrs! I feel proud for the car is designed by Indian engineers. Everything had is right place including the gas cylinder under the seats. Back wheel drive is a boon and has taken on terrain where only a Scorpio had gone. Literally on River beds and rock mountains... I've videos to prove them. Not a car to shy from highways... I've travelled Bangalore to Bombay 9-10 times, 5k Kms Upto Bhuj in a week, 1500kms in 2 days... Innumerable times. Transported loads of material for our projects, pipes, steel plates, welding machine etc in the nano. Low maintenance cost. Totally. Super vehicle... Only if you know to use it properly. It is like the hero honda splendour of cars... You do not pit a splendour against a pulsar or ktm to compare. Cons: - not suitable for long drives... Specially for back seat passengers. (It was not designed for this anyway!!) - the cost had to be kept at 2 lakh levels. Currently, it costs about 3.6 lakhs. You get cars with 800cc or more at this cost. Can't think about any other cons. Supercar... Bad marketing.

Very good car for everything like parking, space and price. Every parameter is good. Finally, I want to thank Mr. Ratan Tata who made it.

This is the best and amazing car for the middle class. It has nice looks and comfortable driving experience and safety-wise it's also good and has best in class air conditioning and other features. I am really happy to buy it. I love it. It's a cheaper car so people don't like it. As our society has a habit of compare. But I like and best car for Indian small family. If the same car value will be 10lacs than people love it. We have Indian mentality for price and quality. Anyway, I am enjoying in Tata Nano. Thanks.

I am writing about Tata nano as such, its a car with best of everything, however, it has not taken off as expected because of the fixated mindset of Indian buyer of entry-level category, the least and cheapest expense car with outstanding performance and mileage. I've travelled by car to some of the most inaccessible areas which require 4x4 drive vehicles unless it's a boggy ground its performance is even better than most of the SUVs 4x4, the best vehicle in cold climatic areas and high altitudes I've crossed the streams with ease, low parking space and with a seating capacity of 5 what else do you look for. Safety, is doubtful on high-speed direct impact, however, I've seen people coming out scratch less in case the impact is not head-on or at low speeds, thanks to the crumple zone and design which takes legs beneath the seat. Tata must come up with an EV model.

Low maintenance car, trouble free driving. Performance very good on high way also. Never face any problem. Servicing cost is moderate. Outside may be small but inside specious and comfortable.

Just got the deleivery yesterday. I am impressed on driving this car. Having been driving maruti for years. Nano is definately better than Maruti's 800 & Alto. The car can easily moves at the speed of 80 Km. AC performance is better than expected.

      Good fuel economy, spacious

I'm writing this review just to share my experience & story with TATA NANO being a NANO owner. So first things first, don’t just make your after watching those emotional TATA NANO ads just being started as promotional program for TATA NANO. I bought this car back in 2009 under that lucky draw system using which TATA made hype about this car. So I was among first few victims of experiment carried out by TATA engineers. Outlook of car is decent though aerodynamics are not good enough to handle high speeds, still it can run at 80kmph on a stretch of 200kms without any stops (good engine) with AC on. Summary of What happened to my car (unfortunately): 1800 km (1.5 months) - Gear box was changed, because it started giving severe problem (i.e. no gearing at all) 9000 km (8 Months)- Self start was over hauled, as it was out of order for some reason. 14000 km (1.1 yrs)- Silencer kit got worse and had to get replaced. Luckily I had to spend nothing in all this because of warranty. (4 years warranty) but it was a total waste of time because TATA NANO parts are not easily available minimum 1 month waiting time.

      Exterior
Decent exteriors, “the little turtle”. But quality of material used is so bad that you can't imagine. At least I’m sure about the first lot which was delivered to first few hundred customers.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Worst thing in the car is 100/- RS thing which is side mirror. Its quality is ever worse than a motorbike side mirror, if you are following the centre mirror (mirror inside car) same object would look at actual distance but in side mirror it would look far away. (so TATA engineers should think about this 100/- thing). There is no boot space because engine is installed in back (so if you are getting extra space inside car for comfort you'll compromise boot space). Now image a situation when you have four adults and 2-3 big bags...so where do you think you'll keep them. (An aam admi always carry al ot of stuff along for longer distances.).

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is really good, on bad thing is engine sound and its heat that sucks in summers to rear passengers (as there are sitting right above this engine.) Mileage is around 22+ what i have noticed always which is not bad. Pay for petrol and have fun of diesel ;).

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is okay and there is no power steering and neither you would require one because of best turning radius it has. For longer distances say after running 20-30 KMs you'll start feeling lack of comfort in the seats. the kind of foam that TATA has provided is not sufficient. I had to get an extra layer of foam within seat covers because of complains from my whole family. Final Words If this car was available at 1.25 LAC with AC it would have been worth. Also even though engine can run hundreds of km (200km I have run multiple times) still you would not feel comfortable for longer drives.

Areas of improvement After sale services are simply pathetic. Other ares of improvement are Engine sound, steel quality, seat quality, side mirror the worst part.

AC, Tough Engine, Leg Space, Head Space, MileageBad Interious, Pathetic Engine sound, Uncomfortable seating

Exterior It has wonderful cute exterior. The side fins and curvaceous looks makes it very zippy. its compact but veyr spacious from inside.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The AC is amazing. also, the interioirs are also good. lots of space.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engine is a little noisy but the pick up and torque is amazing. it races on highways wonderfully. The fuel economy is also better than any other small petrol car.

Ride Quality & Handling Although the power steering is not there, the drive is very comfortable and turning is quite smooth.

Final Words This is a small wonder with amazing drive, huge space and zippy looks. I just love this car. great drive and any city dweller with small family (young couple, small kids) who is looking out for a car, this is the perfect one!

Areas of improvement NVH is an area of improvement for Nano.

Good space, good mileage, good pick-up, very good AC, good driving comfortLittle noisy,
