After doubling the production from 200,000 units to 400,000 units in April this year, the combine is planning to increase the vehicle building capacity to 800,000 units by 2016. • A prospective Ferrari California buyer, drove the $ 200,000 car into the bay after going a bit to hot on the pedal during the test drive. • Mahindra-Reva sales have dropped after the subsidy that the government had offered ended on March 31 this year. The car now costs Rs 4-4.87 lakh. Since then, they are the fastest growing exporters, currently exporting 85 per cent of production to foreign markets. Hyundai and Maruti are the largest exporters of cars from India as of now.

Nissan exports have doubled to over one lakh units in the last fiscal owing to the strong demand for compact cars in Europe and Latin America. The 'Made in India' Micra has been a huge success, currently sold in over 100 countries.

The company exports CBUs from Chennai, its strategic production hub. Along with the Micra, Nissan has started exporting CKDs of Sunny to Egypt. The company currently produces over three lakh cars for the Renault-Nissan global alliance which they plan to increase to over four lakh.
