-Cross-estate version of the E-Class
-Higher ground clearance and bigger wheels
-Diesel power only
-4MATIC
One of the wildest looking cars that Mercedes-Benz has ever brought to India has been teased ahead of its probable launch on 28 September. Dubbed the E-Class All-Terrain, it’s what you would term- All the luxury of the E-Class but with the ability to go (almost) anywhere.
The car’s based on the E-Class Estate but now comes with bigger wheels, high ground clearance, all-wheel drive and diesel power. However, while the outside may look rugged, inside, its standard E-Class fare with things like leather seats, touchscreen infotainment system and rear AC vents.
It’s diesel power only and in this case, the E-Class All-Terrain is being offered in the E220d state-of-tune. Here its 2.0-litre diesel makes 194bhp/400Nm with 4MATIC AWD system and nine-speed AT. We got a taste of this car at the 2018 Auto Expo and well, you can read about that here.
It’s expected to be priced around Rs 70 lakhs and will be a CBU. As far as competition goes, only the Volvo V90 Cross Country is a true rival to this car in the Indian market presently.
