Hey Guyz, i had owned this car on 27th Feb'09... Now i had completed 500 Kms. This Give me the mileage of 15 km/l in the starting.... That means a very good fuel economy car.... Awesome interiors...Very Spacious.... and much better than Swift...... First i was planning to buy Swift, but when i take the test drive of Aura, i completely changed my Mind.... No Noise At All in This Car..... The People who are complaining this car on Carwale, are saying rubbish, they dont know how to drive a car in first 5000 Km... That's why they are facing such problem... In the first 5000 km, don't take diesel car more than 60 km/hr speed... But After 5000 km, u can take any diesel car as much as u want to take it....
I completely satisfied with The Tata Service. They Give me Steering cover, seat cover, mud flaps and foot mats alongwith first aid kit... I buyed this Car From Mathura Road Near Vishal Mega Mart, Delhi................
If u are planning to buy a new car, go For it......
Hope This Review will be helpful to u....
And i will get all of u updated time by time........Good Fuel Economy, Good Style, Spacious, Powerful CarOnly 2- I Wish it Could come with ABS and AIRBAGS....

      Hello Everybody,

This is the first review that I am writing for my Indica Vista Aqua TDI bought 3 weeks ago from A-One Motors, Delhi. It took me 1 month of research, 6 test drives of different cars, search for different offers/schemes etc to narrow down on Vista TDI considering the features, price and the uniqueness that it offers.

Initially, I was a little indecisive about buying the correct variant as the dealer was insisting on Quadrajet and TDI was not easily available, I could not even find precise reviews for TDI on various portals. But then after lots of discussions, thoughts and inspections I decided to go for it.

I have driven M800 for close to 7 years, so transition from Petrol to a Diesel Car was obviously felt but the car really exceeded my expectations. The pick-up is great, interiors are good even though its plastic but the 2 color combination makes it really exciting, space inside made me feel as if I am sitting in a big sedan with huge leg space both in front and rear, power windows are cool too. The Central tachometer, speedometer is a big plus as the driver can quite easily have idea about the size car whenever parking or reversing the car. The gear console is also good and the vinyl gear cover along with the dimmer feature in the cabin light gives you a sedan feel. The glove box in dashobard is also very spacious as compared to other normal cars and it can accomodate lots of other things. The hydraulic adjustible Steering is also a great bonus as you can adjust as per your driving requirements and would fit any person of any height, weight etc.

The only point that I feel which TATA can work  upon is reducing the engine noise even though its felt very less inside the car but  the car is heavy being 1405 cc engine as compared to a petrol car and you would feel the heaviness of the car while shifting gears from 2nd to 3rd. Another thing could be enlarging the boot space as the space is little less as compared to the previous versions of Indica.

As far as the mileage is concerned, I have driven the car for around 550km till now and though I havent really tracked it but my guess is around 14-15 km/litre without AC in city conditions. I hope that it would increase after a few services.

All in all, I would say that its VFM ( Value for Money Car) and you can buy it if you have a budget of around 4-4.5 L and are looking for an all feature, fuel efficient car. I would come back for another review maybe after 1-2 months.

this is my first car and i'm really excited about this one. however i've reviewed a number of cars in this range before zeroing on this one. my initial reactions to this are excellent space, good sporty style unlike the original indica, value for money, fuel efficiency and good performance.
on the negative side, i'd say its interiors are done poorly, the exterior shape on the front side could have been better and the plastics used could have been of a better quality to give the accessories strength. the front windshield should have been smaller so that there could be less heat retention and easy air conditioning. a/c is ineffective for about 10long minutes from the time you switch it on due to the abovesaid reason
style, fuel economy, leg spacepoor interiors, bad outer finish

      Hi,

This is my first car. I had decided to go for Diesel, as I will be going to my native >170km on weekends.

I bought Indica Vista Quadrajet Aura . For budget users, they can go for Tdi version, which is also VFM car .

The car has lot of space for rear seat passengers.

      The gear shift is smooth.

I had ruled out swift diesel, because it is costlier than Vista and has less features than Vista.

Vista Suspension is very good - you feel u r in a sedan.

I asked my friends who are having TATA cars, they said, after Indica V2, tata cars are very good, and gives less maintenance, and their technology got improved.

Indica Vista is lengthier than other hatchbacks. And, Vista suspension is better than other hatchbacks.

Exterior Same as Previous Vista model but might be some change in headlight.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior quality is improved a lot then the old vista version now it looks sophisticated, but the, Seat covers are of light tone so it get dirty easily but the seat fabric is good. Lots of space in the cabin Three person can seat without any compromise :).

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Excellent engine performance even with AC it give excellent performance. Silent engine, Gearbox is good, but somewhat hard during shifting, Provides mileage between 17-20kmpl.

Ride Quality & Handling Excellent control over car, streering is very good and managable and precise, Break are also good and comes with ABS.

Final Words Value for money car, you will get all the features that other manufactures doesnt provides after taking 7-8lakhs of rupees.

Areas of improvement Gear shifting(it is already good but it can be improved more), speaker quality, and seat fabric color.

Inproved Interior Quality, Powerful engine, Silent engine though it is diesel, easy handlingspeaker quality is not average but not bad at all

Exterior The exterior looks are like premium eurpen hatch back car. The new grills and rear logo also very attaractive. The only hatchback I had seen with chrome linings in the exterior.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The colour combination is very nice. The interior quality has improved tremendously compared to earlier versions and far better than figo and polo.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Fiat 1.3 multijet. Nothing to comment. The best engine now available in the world.

Ride Quality & Handling Superb ride quality. Handling is excellent even at 120kms/hour speed. The breaking is very good. I travelled from Trivandrum to calicut and found very sturdy.

Final Words Normally tata motors won't take much margin on cars compared to its competetions. So the price can be matched with figo. Otherwise the best buy diesel hach in the country. I am satisfied with the car.

Areas of improvement The dealer network needs to be improved. The dealers like Concord ,Cochin will spoil the market of such good vehicles.

Fit & finish is excellent compared to earlier versionsprice ican be little less

ARE YOU INSANE....? BUYING A TATA...? TAXI CHALAYEGA...? These were the initial reactions of many people around me when i declared my intention of buying the Vista. And to be honest that made me nervous! But I stuck to my decision, and Boy AM I HAPPY!!!

I have been an owner of few different cars ranging from Maruti800 upto Chevy Optra. So, where do I rate and review the Vista??? Its right at the top of my list ! No jokes. This beauty surprised me and is still doing the same every time I get behind the wheels. Buying it has been a very bold but extremely great decision.

Exterior Well it may not have the appeal of a brio or i20 but definitely the new sedan class looks no less. amazing work by TATA designers! Now it does really stand out in traffic and make heads turn!

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Having a back niggle myself, One of my most important criteria for selecting a car was its driver seat position. Undoubtedly, Vista is the best in its class and even a class above. 5ft2in or 6ft2in. U chose your comfort accordingly and drive into bliss!

Rear seats are very comfortable (always a TATA strong) with great legspace for a hatch. So many devices to discover. and the stereo is way above expectations. Bluetooth is amazing and so damn convenient. The finish is amazing and all controls are convenient and friendly. HVAC is great.

If one hides the logos within... it surely is difficult for anyone to believe that it is a TATA. Actually the car I was delivered is waaaaaaaay too better and more well finished than the showroom demo piece. My first look reaction within was. Is this really a VISTA? And so is the same of almost everyone who rides it the first time.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Enough has already been said about the FIAT diesel powerhouse engine. Ill just sum it as AMAZING! Did actually buy the car for this engine! Rest everything around it is a HUGEEEE SURPRISEEEE! You can easily amble around in city traffic without gear changes. (And i'm talking about Pune city traffic!). The gear shift and clutch is pretty smooth, another surprise package.

I've just clocked 2000kms on the dial with a highway mileage of around 21kmpl with AC (4 passengers and luggage). In city it gives around 17-18kmpl.

Ride Quality & Handling Great. The power steering is leagues ahead of the previous Vista models.

Final Words People who ridiculed my decision initially actually are my cars greatest admirers today. One of them is himself getting a VISTA! Trust me people. Banish the initial apprehension of driving and owning a TATA. They have come a long way and have shed off their old avatars miles back!

And for those who doubt the TATA commitment and after sales efficiency. I've had a horrid time servicing my Marutis at few trusted centres myself. And my first post sales service with the TATAs was WALK IN and car delivered ready and serviced in a jiffy! I've tried, tested, experienced and TRUSTED the TATAs and my respect for this Indian car maker is growing leaps and bounds!

      Areas of improvement NA.

Driver seating, Lots of space, wonderful engine, A/C, Blue5, many more...Not that i've noticed...

It  is a proper car made for Indian market considering Indian market requirements. also The car is powered by a range of internationally acclaimed powertrains - the new 75 bhp 1.3L Quadrajet Common Rail Diesel engine being manufactured at the new Fiat-Tata joint venture at Ranjangaon in Maharashtra. The Quadrajet operates at 1400 bar with 4 injections per cycle and delivers a high torque of 190Nm over a flatter speed range for better city driving.

On comfort too, the Indica Vista has a number of unique, thoughtful touches. The height adjustable driver’s seat and the tilt-adjustable steering wheel enable better driving posture. Utility space in the floor console under the seat and the deep glove box, which can accommodate a laptop, give that extra space when needed. Tubeless tyres, a new twist beam suspension, gas filled shock absorbers, a sub-frame construction for enhanced transverse stiffness lead to better ride and drive comfort as well as improved handling. The body has a higher use of high strength steel panels for enhanced torsional and bending stiffness. Tailor welded blanks have been used for the first time to reduce weight. Thoughtful touches, like the rear wiper switching on in reverse when the front wiper is on, are many.
The interiors have the instrument cluster now placed in the centre of the dashboard to enhance in-driving passenger involvement and improved driver visibility. A dual tone grey and beige interior with a pleasing soft feel grain structure on the top end version gives the car a premium touch. A two DIN CD System with a USB port and remote control enables music to be customised to one’s needs.
The all new Indica Vista has been given a complete makeover. A complete new skin houses an all new interior and the sculpted evolutionary, yet very contemporary body makes a bold styling statement. At nearly 3.8m length and 1.7m width, with a wheel base of 2470mm, the car has grown in size, mostly in the interior space. A new central character line on the hood, sharp crease lines on the door below the beltline, a honeycomb grille and striking petal shaped headlamps complement the trademark smiling grille and tall tail lights that are distinctive to the Indica.

only thing needs to be checked is the overall built quality of car.
being a fiat proven SDE Engine it will be great Good fuel economy with Powerful Performancemay be poor built quality being TATA made

      DEAR ALL,

FIRST OF ALL- I AM NOT FAKE. take some time to read though my some my worst experiences I had / (going through) after purchasing TATA VISTA CAR. I try to make it short to save some of your time. after lot of research I decided to go for TATA VISTA (Petrol) version despite many of my friends advice not to go for it. what will become a miserable decision in my entire life. I booked my vehicle a month ago and got it delivered on time from CONCORD MOTORS (CHENNAI)

Even before my first service I started to get lot of troubles from my car, like engine stops all of sudden in middle of road, some minor mechanical problems like doors not opening properly list goes on. I did not mind too much at the time and started to make a checklist!

At the time of first services I explained to so called "supervisor" about all the minor issues and let my vehicle. At the time of delivery they promised that all my issues were solved and I believed them. TRUSTING the CAR we decided to go out for long drive in the weekend. Somewhere around 50 KM from the city my car stopped and black smoke came from the engine...we all were shocked with my entire family in middle of the highway you can imagine the rest.

I took to the nearest service center and they tried to do something to fix...finally after all the mental agony and frustration after 5 hours they fixed my vehicle we started back...the next week end same problem accorded again in the interstate highway....there is absolutely no response from the customer care. When I call them they give another number to redirect...I am still struggling with this car which is not even a two month old.

PLEASE NEVER CHOOSE TATA Car’s they might be good in making heavy vehicles they are not suitable for making passenger CAR.

We recently (couple of months back) bought Tata (Indica) Vista Aura Safire model after quite a bit of search and research(!) and are extremely glad we did so. The car is elegant (makes everyone on the road turn towards it), has powerful and stylish headlamps, spacious (hats off to TATA motors for optimising the space inside without making it look like a giant from outside), smooth and noiseless (fantastic Fiat engine and great suspensions), loaded with features (AC, music System with CD/USB, power steering and all 4 power windows, steering wheel tilt, driver's seat height adjustment, rear wiper, 60:40 split rear seat, fog lamps, Immobiliser, spacious and lockable glove (rather Laptop) compartment, drawer tray below co-passenger's seat, mobile/laptop charging outlets at front and back, remote boot and fuel tank openers, large boot, manual ORVM mirrors, manual child-lock on rear doors, body colour bumpers, etc., etc. all for less than 4 Lakhs on road (how did you manage it Mr. Ratan Tata? You have made Vista really change everything including competitors' price line) and has a fantastic mileage on highway when driven mostly in 5th gear. To get equivalent features in competitor's models, one has to shell out close to a lakh or in some cases upto 2.5 lakhs more. The only features not provided in Vista are Airbags and ABS. The bonnet is pretty heavy and sturdy to give some protection.

Things to be improved are better finish rubber beading especially for front windscreen, a bit more sturdy bumpers, some more attention to interior plastic quality especially door levers for easy operation, etc.

In city traffic it has excellent control and gives 13 to 14 km/ltr with AC on and on highway (driven only once by me for a distance of 250 kms) it gave 17.75 km/ltr again with AC on.

If it is really value for money, why aren't many Vistas on road even after one year of launch? I think it is because of "(Indica) Taxi syndrome". Many people seeing more indica (ordinary) taxis on road have a bias against that name for a family car. Taxis are driven harshly and not maintained well thereby end up with lots of dents and large emissions (both smoke and noise). This could amplify the bias against indica. Mr. Ratan Tata should have named it just TATA VISTA (like TATA NANO) and should not have named it Indica for, probably,  nostalgic reasons. Argument of having built on Indica platform is not exactly valid, as Vista is a far superior car (and costlier too) than ordinary indica in terms of engine quality, style, space, features, ....- Everything has changed for better in Vista from Indica while preserving the affordability and reliability factors.

If you do not suffer from any of the above mentioned bias go and get your Vista and make use of the low interest rates of SBI before Sep. 30. I case you can shell out more money, go for Tata Vista Aura Quadrajet, which was voted ahead of Swift, Ritz and Punto in "wharcar" magazine in July 2009 issue after detailed comparison. However, if you are biased and feel you can't drive a car with Indica written on it (as quite a lot of youngsters really do suffer from "Indica taxi" syndrome), shell out more money for same features and drive home some other brand. It is a choice between getting mentally cramped initially before buying the car or physically cramped always after buying and while driving.
Spacious, Loaded with features, Reasonable price, Fantastic Engine, Smooth and noiselessCan't take rough handling, Less fuel economy in city driving (no wonder no Vista taxis so far)
