Tata Indica V2 [2003-2006]

    My parents bought this car, year 2006(TATA Indica DLS). Third grade "after sales TATA service", from Tata Authorised Sales Service Station(Autopoint, Wakad) and very high expenses on maintenance. After coming from abroad, recently, there was a lot of work again to be done on this car. The battery tray was completely rusted, and broken. I felt while driving this car, the battery might fall on the road as the tray holding it, was rusted.   It was a pain to call and do a follow up with Tata authorized service stations, as some of those did not carry the spare parts, and the ones who had it always said, "no appointments available", for installation of the parts. The only thing these service stations would do is, print out big bills. Small mechanics in Pune suggested that better get the battery tray installed from TATA people as it needed welding, at some points.   So, was stuck in a weird situation of not getting the stuff done. There are many stories alike with this car.   The point is, why Toyota is miles ahead in passenger car sales, as of 2014, in India. Now I never see a Tata parked around in my neighbor, all are hyndai, Fords and Hondas. The consumer is well informed and the Word of Mouth is Ultimate in business. If it was not the governments saving policy, I feel crap like Tata Cars, would be wiped off clean. To conclude, the Tata car sales is not going anywhere, next 50 years at least.     Not muchHeavy maintenance, Worst after sales service
