I have a Nissan Micra aging 2years, from the 30000km onwards the engine starts to make noise and send to the service center. They had taken almost one week to identify the complaint and replaced some consumable parts under the warranty which having the extended warranty.

Again after 10000km the same noise started severely  and again sent to the service center in Koch, they had taken almost 75 days to complete the service, whenever we calls to the service center, their reply was they are waiting for the spares.

Finally they completed the works after 75 days and charged Rs.2,50,000/- as service cost for the vehicle under the warranty period. So I refused to take delivery from the service center and send a complaint to Nissan customer care on 13th of July and the didn’t response to the mail till 30th of August 2014,

By 29th Jul  I have received the contact number of an Area Manager Service for Kerala (Mr. Jayadev) and explained everything to him, he told to me that he will discuss with the service center manager and will take the necessary action to solve the issue and had son confrence calls with the service center manager, and didn’t get any reply from anybody, and later Company service engineering manager  refused to answer my calls, finally I had called him from an another number and he answered, and he realized that the call is from me and he said that he is unable to do any thin on this issue.

Being an international manufacturer I never expected such attitudes in the competitive market……..

So myself personally suggest all, to avoid the purchase of any Nissan vehicles in India………

Fuel economy 18km/ltrIrresponsible manufacture with irresponsible Nissan Engineers, and useless customer care centre

Very bad experience with Nissan India. After 2 years it will start giving you trouble for expensive parts. They have very cheap quality of parts which starts failing after 2 years so make sure you buy extended warranty. It is push button start (key less) so you can enjoy starting/locking car without key but when it fails for electric part then you will be in pain of expenses.

I will give recent experience example.

Recently 10 days before when I tried to start my car using push button start and it didn't start. Nissan service center guys diagnosed car and said that Electric Steering Lock Unit failed and we have to replace it.
That part is also very expensive (cost me 45000 INR) so I asked what could be the reason of failure of such an expensive part. They said that might didn't get sufficient voltage due to battery issue.

That answer didn't satisfy me because flat battery can happen anytime and it doesn't mean that it should screw  such an expensive part within 3 years of life of car. And one more thing is that my car went for service in Nissan service center just 15/20 days before. Then during service why they couldn't identify any battery issue if there is any.

NonePoor service centers, expensive parts quality, electric parts frequent maintenance

      Exterior Cute Car.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) By the looks of it, it is a small car but when you enter inside the space amazes you. Comparing space and interiors of all the cars in the segment this one steals the show. Its a feature rich car with all company fitted equipments and the quality is very good. Better than a Maruti anyday.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is a winner (1.5 L K9K) but lacks power. Still the best of the lot at such a price. Fuel economy is good and the gearbox could be better.

Ride Quality & Handling Very good suspension and a short turning circle with a good steering as well. Good ride and very good for the city.

Final Words Buying is a win win and is a matter of time once the company gets a good service network. But people in metros should not think about this till the time they are buying it for city driving. Comparing with all the brands in the market in this segment be it the polo or the fabia or even the swift/ritz, its pricing is good for the features it offers and the best diesel engine of the lot. If money is not a problem then its the polo which also comes along with heavy bills for after sales service but for people with lesser budgets and who need a good car this should be the choice.

Areas of improvement Incompetent sales personnel and poor hospitality at showrooms.

Space, Interiors, Smooth Engine, Good Suspension, Feature RichPoor Hospitality in showrooms and Incompetent Staff

Exterior Pretty ok!New age design with body contours. The headlamps have a tendency to accumulate vapour during monsoons or at carwash stations.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very very basic interior, especially the dashboard assembly. No bluetooth, No remote & how could they ever forget the USB port. Has a very tiny or rather non functional glove box (Only the car documents or 2-3 books can be accomodated).

The space between the A/c & blower controls looks somewhat very simple & empty in comparisions to the other model in this segment. No use of chrome either on the steering handle logo or any other part of the dashboard. Black plastic is all what you will find everywhere..

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Overall engine performance good (Pickup in the 2nd gear disappointing, thou), Gears, not as smooth as its Korean counterparts. Fuel Economy - 10 approx could have been better for this size of an engine. The Average consumption display is inaccurate & unrealistic & depend on the no of times you reset the trip counter & not displayed realtime..

Ride Quality & Handling Very Agile handling (Excellent).

Final Words Should have gone in for an All new I20s, Polos or the likes, which has better features to offer at a mere price difference of 20-25k. Micra absolutely is over priced, offers features one could expect out of a 4.5lac(On road) car.

Areas of improvement They need to work on the dealership & the after sales support. Their dealership in mumbai is very short staffed, ill trained...express their helplessness at the drop of a hat.

More interested in arranging test rides, rather then actuating sales, as they are more used to selling 1 or 2 highend teanas & Xtrail in a day. Overall illequiped to meet the buzz created by Nissans aggressive marketing.

The after sales support also in a sorry state. Only one workshop for Suburban mumbai - (Kurla -kamani), that to short staffed. You would find only 2 or 3 lazy looking reps over the counter to attend to the whole of mumbai.

It took us 3 hrs for a stolen logo to be replaced, which was ideally a 20 mins job..  The parts are pretty reasonable, thou.

Overall - I think Nissan has not taken the small car segment in india, seriously

New Age design, better engine refinement & a very agile steeringVery basic interior,No tubeless tyr, No USB,No Remote,No Bluetooth,Inaccurate fuel consumtions stats

      Exterior Cute looking car.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Best in its class. See for yourself.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Most powerful 1500 cc engine with best mileage & cool cool ac. experience it to believe it. I bought a Disel 1.5 last month and enjoying the car, the steering is so light, un-believeable, easy to manouvere.

Ride Quality & Handling May not be the best option for highways since its a light car, but for city drive its the best in class. With low maintianece cost. about Rs. 2500 for a disel sevrice is unheard off, check it yourself for the cool features it has.

Final Words Do not follow the heard blindly for ford, swift, polo, fabia etc. test it to beleive it. use it to expereince it.

Areas of improvement They should have a dual airbag and abs in disel too, its only in petrol for now. Also have a 2nd reverse light. I will really appreciaet if they have a automatic in disel as well soon and lead the market as always in the small segment too. Cheers for the nice overall car.

Exterior Ok. New i10 looks much much better now.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Again, new i10 looks amazing, its got blue tooth, ipod facility. Micra looks ok when you compare it with i10.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is good. Good pickup even in 2nd gear. Fuel indication is not accurate. Every few seconds it keeps changing showing difference of 10 to 20km which is huge. So cant really judge whether tank is really empty.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is very good. Handling is superb. steering is amazingly smooth. Turing radius is too good. Gear box is not smooth.

Final Words Finally, I feel I made a mistake buying Micra, I should have bought new i10. I had Santro and never had a problem in terms of service. Yesterday I took my car to get the horns replaced as horns weren't working. The service guy tool 3 hours to fix one horn. They did not even had card swiping machine. I am really worried about the service of my car. There is just one service station in Bangalore.

Areas of improvement After sales service.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

       Smooth handling and great suspension.

      Final Words

If you are tired of traditional brands (maruthi, hundai), and if you need an alternatice for VW polo, micra is a choice. Just go and buy it.

Exterior The car  looks good at first sight with little exception at the back. However, tough built and looks trendy.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Excellent comfort ,very good features like climate control, powerful AC,Quality audio system, quite good plastic quality and ofcourse start and stop push button which is of great help in saving fuel in traffic quality. The entire cabin provedes enough space for 5 persons to travel few hundred kilometres.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Fuel economy not yet felt as I drove only fewer kilometres. No engine noise found during idling, hence gear box quality seems to be on the lines of other NISSAN automobiles.

Ride Quality & Handling Excellent steering comfort. Ride quality is on par with other hatchbacks.Handling is smooth and comfortable. More can be felt(both pros and cons) after few hundred kilometres.

Final Words GOOD QUALITY CAR TO BUY!

      Areas of improvement

1.Rear seat is just a bench,

2.CUSHIONING to the seats in general and rear seats in particular,

      3.Adjustable head rests,

      4.Height adjustable driver seat,

      5.Dual horns,

6.Chrome finish trim levels for AC vents.

I booked xv cvt micra olive green on 17/7/2013 executive's verbal promise of delivery was 4weeks but while writing he said I'm taking 8weeks as the car comes from chennai and might get damaged so taking that buffer its going to be 8weeks max.

24/7/13 I get call from bank that my loan cannot be processed as the dealer has informed them that car will not be delivered before end of sept13. I told bank that there must be some confusion as I have committment of 4weeks. I call then visit dealership sterling nissan to get a clear date of delivery. AGM Jasvinder Pal Singh tells me that he will not be able to give me any date in particular but max time will be of 8 weeks from booking date and exact date he will be able to communicate latest by 5thweek. Satisfied by his seemingly professional handling of things I left things as they were.

21/8/13 when I call up AGM of sterling Nissan he says he will not be able to give me the car as promissed as it is not available with the manufacturing company but he can give me car in silver colour  next day itself. when I say I want car in my choice of colour since I've been waiting for it and he should find out from factory when it will be delivered. his words,"mein silver mein de sakta houn aapne leni hai toh lo baad mein bhi silver mein hi milegi" then I asked him for refund of my booking amount he asked me to submit my original booking receipt with his staff after one week of it I will be given my cheque.

All this was not something acceptable to me so I contacted their call center where my complaint was registered (HASTRLGUR20130XXXXXX) and was asked to wait for 72 hrs for a call back. I did not receive this callback.

26/8/13 I call again nothing except a promise of a call back by 5pm. Again I call at 7pm time I tell them that if I don't get that call back by 10pm then I will be going to consumer court in morning and some one did call and promised an early resolution of the case.

Today I did get a call from AGM of dealer saying cheque is ready but will be given only on submission of original receipt. when I refused to hand over the receipt as it is against Incometax rules they can take a credit note from me or recipt of their cheque but not the original booking receipt. Mr Jasvinser pal Singh says,"lena hai toh receipt deni hi padegi nahi to cheque nahi denge aur abhi toh hum de rahe hain baad mein cheque aur gaadi dono hi bhul jaana".

Now I Have NO other option left but to approach consumer court for redressal. AND I HOPE AFTER READING THIS AUTHORITIES IN NISSAN INDIA WILL GET A WAKEUP CALL AND NO OTHER CONSUMER HAS TO FACE MENTAL TORTURE THAT I FACED AT HANDS OF STERLING NISSAN.

      Exterior

The best in class in terms of looks, it is the only small car that turns heads. It gives that 'foreign car' look and feel. Smooth rounded lines and the Mickey Mouse front makes it a fun young car without looking juvenile.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

The interiors are neat and simple. Ours is a red coloured car and it came with beige and light grey interiors. The clearly marketed USP is the keyless entry. Just keep the keys in your pocket and you can unlock the car, start it and drive! The climate control panel is round with large clearly marked buttons which makes it easy to use even while driving. The air conditioning is extremely effective and despite driving in the Dehi summer we rarely have to put the temperature below 24 degrees. The front seats are comfortable like most hatchbacks, though not as much as a large sedan. Leg room in the rear is decent. This comes at the cost of a small boot, which is big enough to fit 2 small suitcases (cabin baggage size) or maybe 1 large one. Didnt bother us much as me and my wife just drop the back seat in case we have a lot of luggage to carry.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

The petrol engine is top notch and performs well in city and highway driving. The gear change is smooth. Though I feel the second gear is a little sluggish. Nothing too much to complain about. Fuel economy is decent and I get around 12-13 kmpl in city driving. However, I just completed 1000 kms so after the first routine service this will improve. I havent had a chance to drive long enough on a highway to know the economy.

      Ride Quality & Handling

I enjoy the ride thoroughly and dont feel that it is strenous in city traffic. The small turning radius (best in class) helps manoeuvre through traffic easily and the power steering only makes this simpler. One amazing feature which is not talked about much is 'brake assist'. It is difficult to explain here but read up about it online. Basically, it helps you break better in a sudden braking scenario.

      Final Words

A lot of people are scared of buying this car as they think that Nissan is a new brand in India and not as trustworthy as the other established players (Maruti, Ford, Skoda, even VW). Having lived abroad I know the quality of Nissan cars is at par if not better than the other brands. The criticism around a small dealer network is valid to a degree. I have a dealer/service location within 10km so its not a big deal. Also Nissan has a tie up with TVS for emergency support, pan-India with 1-2 hours irrespective of how remote a place you are in. Nissan is here to stay - they plan to open another 100 dealerships in the next 1-2 years. So dont be afraid to experiment with this car. I know its a big decision to pay an extra 50k for this when compared to some of the other cars on offer, but if you care about how you look when you drive then that money is well spent. The car is the talk of town wherever I go and people are usally impressed when shown the features.

      Areas of improvement

I dont really have much to suggest as improvements.
