The third generation of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire will soon be launched and the company has already revealed several details pertaining to the car. Now, in the run up to its launch, more information was leaked – this time about its fuel efficiency figures. Maruti claims the fuel efficiency for the petrol variant to be at 22kmpl while the diesel is at 28.4kmpl.
The Dzire has retained the same engine used by its predecessor. The petrol variant gets the same K-series, 1.2 litre, in-line four layout, capable to churn out 82bhp at 6,000rpm and 113Nm of torque at 4,200rpm. On the other hand, the diesel variant gets the DDiS, 1.3 litre, in-line four layout, capable of churning out 74bhp at 4,000rpm and 190Nm of torque at 2,000rpm. The novelty here is that Suzuki offers the AMT gearbox to both petrol and diesel models from the ‘V’ trims, whereas the five-speed gearbox remains standard across all trims.
Maruti Suzuki has already confirmed that safety features like dual-airbag, ABS coupled with EBD and ISOFIX child seat mount will be standard across all trims. Added to that, the base trims are expected to be equipped with high mounted LED stop lamp, MID with gear shift indicator, front power socket, dual tone interiors, front seat belt pre-tensioners and tilt adjustment steering.
The premium trims of the Dzire will come equipped with leather wrapped steering, dual tone interior, start-stop button, keyless entry, automatic headlamps, automatic climate control, rear arm-rest and much more.
The Maruti Dzire will compete against the Honda Amaze, the Ford Aspire, the Hyundai Xcent, the Volkswagen Ameo and the Tata Tigor. The pricing of the new Maruti Dzire is expected to be competitive to that segment.
