Truth is certainly stranger than fiction. Officials from the Mumbai Traffic Police have rubbished media reports that yesterday stated a ban on playing music in cars.
Joint commissioner of police (traffic) Sanjay Barve has said that driving in Mumbai was enough to drive people crazy, music or no music. However, don't celebrate with your windows rolled down and the volume cranked up - if you're in a silence zone or try doing this in the middle of the night, you will be stopped and fined.
This new turn might be straight out of a Bollywood whodunit, but we're heaving sighs of relief that we'll have something better than the sound of horns on our commute home. Now if they'll only catch ALL of those pesky motorcyclists without helmets...
