Amidst a wide range of iconic cars from both pre-war and post-war periods at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance 2017, Bugatti delivered the first Chiron to a customer in the US. The Chiron is priced at $2.998 million (Rs 19.22 crores) andits production is limited to 500 units only. The company claims that more than half of the total series have already been sold out around the world.
Mechanically, the Chiron is powered by an 8.0-litre quad-turbo 16-cylinder engine that produces a massive 1,479bhp of power and 1,600Nm of torque. An insane amount of power is sent to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The top speed is electronically restricted to 420kmph but without the limiter, it can do speeds in excess of 463kmph. Given the massive power output figures, it is not surprising that the Chiron can sprint from standstill to 100kmph in just 2.4 seconds.
The Bugatti Chiron gets a unique yellow and black paint scheme. The front half and the doors are painted in yellow, while the rear, side-skirting and the roof are done in black colour. A similar theme has been carried out on the interiors as well, where the yellow leather is used as inserts and highlights on the seats. The hypercar offers the best in safety equipment, performance and comfort.
