Honda City crosses 50,000 mark

The third-generation Honda City has sold more than 50,000 units in just 12 months in India. The third-generation City was launched in India in September ’08 and the deliveries of the car began towards the end of November’ 08. The Honda City is the largest selling model of Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI), and India has emerged as the largest market for the City in the Asian region during this period.

The Honda City is equipped with a 1.5l, 4-cylinder i-VTEC engine that delivers class-leading power of 118bhp and also gives an impressive fuel economy of 16.5 kpl, as per ARAI test data. Honda City was awarded the “Indian Car of the Year” (ICOTY) 2009, from a jury comprising the most respected automotive journalists in India. “We are very pleased with this milestone and would like to thank our customers for their trust and confidence in our product.
