Update: Hyundai launches i10 in India
For automotive world, Chennai will be a busy place. With the sudden launch of Getz diesel, Hyundai seems to be on a high. The festive season is also coming up, so it certainly is a wise decision to launch a new car to push its sales during this period. And that new car is the one which goes by the code-name of 'Pa'. What the actual name will be is something that everyone will know soon.
What we can tell you for is that the car will be priced attractively (3.5 lakh to 4.5 lakh) and will sit between the Santro and Getz. Hyundai may also revise the prices of the Santro in order to keep a check on the 'Pa' not eating into its sister's share. The car is based on an all new platform which will offer good space inside. The grille will be slender and the headlamps seem to be of the swept-back type.
Hyundai already has engines ready to power this car. The 1.1L unit from Santro is a natural choice while the Korean major will do well to develop and pack in a diesel motor too. A 1.3L CRDi unit maybe, Hyundai? But yes, developing this engine will take time, so nothing can be said for sure as of now.
Expect this car to see the Indian sunrise by the end of this month.
