Hyundai India bags award

Hyundai Motor India Ltd bagged the Federation of Indian Export Organisation (FIEO) Niryat Shree Silver Trophy for the year 2005-06. Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) President, Mr. Ashok Jha received the award by the President of India, Smt. Pratibha Patil.

Hyundai accounts for almost 67% of the country’s car exports. Hyundai had also won the EEPC ‘Top Exporter of the Year’ award for 2005-06, last year. Ashok Jha, President, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, “We are honoured and delighted to receive this award.”

Currently, Hyundai exports the Santro, i10, i20, Getz and the Accent/Verna to 95 countries across the globe. By next year, Hyundai plans to export nearly 50% of its cars manufactured in India to almost about 100 countries.
