CEAT Limited inaugurated the Radial Tyre Greenfield project in Halol, Gujarat. Investment worth Rs 700crore will be made in three phases. The plant will provide employment opportunities to 1000 people in the first phase.

The plant is spread across 125 acres of land, and has the capacity to manufacture 100-150 tonnes of tyres in its first phase. The plant is located near the Tata (Nano project) and GM plant in Gujarat. The production level target is to move up to 500-550 tonnes in subsequent phases. The new plant is dedicated for manufacturing of commercial vehicle, light truck and passenger car radials. The plant is expected to be completed by June 2010.
