        • Maruti 1000 AC
Exterior The Maruti 1000 sedan@ globally the Suzuki Swift sedan is a stylish car. The original Swift was a headturner a super success globally. The Chevrolet Geo Metro in the US and the Holden and Vauxhall Barina were  a runaway success worldwide. The graceful lines still look appealing. Unfortunately the  Maruti hand in the Esteem shows and tje original Suzuki good looks are gone. The large S badge on the front grill and the rear square reverse lamps dont fit. Thankfully the Maruti 1000 bore the Suzuki looks. Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) For a small car tje Maruti 1000 makes good Japanese style space management. Small but spacious. There is ample glove box space, space for knik knacks in the center console. Rear hat rack space is good. Trunk space is great. Also space for bit and pieces in the trunk cubby holes on both sides. Excellent interior lighting. Front map readong lamp bright and comes in handy. Abounds with thoughful touches. Great leg space in the rear, even with fronts seats pushed back. Rear seat recline could have been a bit better. Rich cut pile carpetting and moquette seat covers. Grey interior stys fresh even in the Indian heat and dust. Front seats very comfortable. AC decent, heating excellent. Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The Suzuki Swift sedan was never meant to house a 1000cc engine but thanks to the Govt of India s chintzy mindset. Tax sops for 1000cc meant the car could be affordable. Dont blame Suzuki. The car was launched at a time of socialism and VP Singh ( Hostile towards progress and modernity). The engine is underpowered. With the AC on the pick up falls dramatically. Fuel consumption is decent. I get 11km/l ( Hot summer Delhi day with AC on and heavy traffic ). 15km/l ( winter months with heater on ) 13km/l ( winter months heavy traffic ) Dont push the car hard or fuel economy suffers. Engine is smooth and rugged. Excellent transmission. Slick gear shift. Excellent road holding and good soft ride. Engine underpowered. Brakes good. Ride Quality & Handling Excellent ride quality. Soft and surefooted ride. Excellent roadholding. Excellent city car. Decent high speed stability. The car accelerates upto 80km/h effortlessly but struggles thereafter. Final Words The Maruti 1000 is an excellent CITY CAR. GREAT FOR PEOPLE LOOKING TO GET A FIRST SEDAN. EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY. RELIABLE@ STURDY, EASY TO MAINTAIN AND TROUBLEFREE. Areas of improvement NA.Great looks, superb ride, Excellent space utilization, Reliable, sturdy, excellent value for money.Underpowered engine, No power steering.

        • Review about Maruthi 1000
Maruthi 1000 is my first mid-size car. I got this car before 11 years and still its running wihtout giving any major problems. But off late it started showing traces of becoming old. I have done around 60,000 Kms with this car. Done lots of trips in Highways and its stable in 80 Km/hr. I have touched maximum speed of 135 Km/Hr with 5 persons on board. But the vehicle performance drops drastically when AC is turned on. Advantages: -> Good fuel Economy (17 Kms per lit on highway without AC, 13 Kms per lit on highway with AC, 14 Kms per lit without AC in city, 9 Kms Per lit with Ac in city).Good fuel economy, Decent look, Reliable service stations.Poor lighting, Prone to corrode below the wiper spindle on the passenger side,Poor pickup with AC
