Mercedes-Benz launches GLE 400 4MATIC petrol at Rs 74.90 lakh

Customers who have been eagerly looking forward for a petrol GLE SUV will not have to wait any longer. The popular German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz has launched the GLE 400 4MATIC petrol at Rs 74.90 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The new variant continues to be offered with all the features as seen in the diesel trim, except for a new petrol engine under the hood.

The newly launched Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 4MATIC is powered by a 2996cc V6 petrol engine which puts out 328bhp of power and 480Nm of torque. Mated to 7G-TRONIC PLUS transmission, the vehicle is capable of attaining a top speed of about 247kmph. The SUV gets five different driving modes - comfort, sport, slippery, individual and off-road.

With the launch of the GLE 400 4MATIC, our discerning customers will now have the option of choosing between the petrol and the diesel version of our highest selling SUV. The GLE has been the highest selling SUV ever and with a growing penchant for SUVs among customers, we believe the introduction of the petrol version will further bolster our presence in the luxury SUV segment. For the first time, we are introducing the GLE with a petrol mill and this underscores our strategy of offering the right product for our growing customer base. This is the fourth SUV we have introduced this year and with this variant, we now offer our bestselling SUV in 4 different options, GLE 250 d, GLE 350 d, GLE 400 and the dynamic GLE 450 AMG Coupe.”    

Along with premium interior upholstery, the Mercedes-Benz GLE petrol variant also gets Harman Kardon Logic 7 surround sound system which has been matched to Logic 7 multi-channel surround sound technology for an enthralling 360-degree sound experience of stereo and discrete 5.1 recordings in every seat. The SUV will also get an 8-inch infotainment system. Along with intelligent drive system and six airbags for safety, the SUV also comes loaded with assistance systems such as crosswind assist, attention assist, active parking assist and brake assist.
