hi everyone , i had a few drives in the new hyundai i10 , and as a car resercher i love to test and drive al sort of cars and give a report to you people to make your buying easier

the Exterior - Exterior on the fron Nose looks very good and has good styling , but the rear taillights and the design doesnot look all that good

Space - Space on the inside is just fine and suitable for a family of 4 and it can squeeze in 5 too , and overall the space seems to be slightly better than the Santro and WagonR

Performance - the Engine 1.1 IRDE is quite good in handling and performs quite well and is much improved and i refined , the power is Decent and good

Interior - the interior is very updated and is the best in its segement , the Biege and black combination has been perfectly done by the hyundai and so is the gear box , very nice to Shft too

Fuel Economy - when i was testing and as the car was new i got 13KMPL in city and 16 in highway with AC , but one can expect the milage of i10 to be around 15 KMPL in city and 17- 18 in the highways

VALUE FOR MONEY - yes its indeed value for money , but i feel its slightly overpriced by 10k rs , cut Down the 10k rs and its a great Value for money and is the Best Overall Family Small Car

Thats it from me , hope you liked this Review

      Cheers!!!

Good Interiors , Good fuel economyPriced a slightly higher by 10k rs

The Hyundai i10 has been a driver's paradise, for sheer driving pleasure. It's been about 4 months since I purchased the i10 Magna. The car feels like an absolute toy, especially for city handling. In a place like Mumbai, you really couldn't have asked for anything better in terms of handling. Its a luxurious small car with sedan like interiors, that makes you feel like a king despite its size. It has a fantastic gear system which is stylised on the front console, unlike all other cars. The pick-up is quite superb and you can feel it every single time you drive past a signal, alongside other small cars or even some of the sedans.
The interiors are not only luxurious but also very spacious and space utilised very well. It doesnt look so big from the outside but when your in, it is alarmingly spacious! Try sitting on the rear seats and you'll know what I mean.

However, I was VERY disappointed with the mileage. For a small car like the i10 to give a mileage of 9-10km/litre in the city is quite sad as compared to any other small car. I have finished one servicing, the 2nd one being due in October. The boot space as well, could have been a little better. However, it really doesn't matter much if your using this car for city driving.

All in all, I think if you are ready to forgo the poor mileage, it's a car one can be proud to own. However, with the increasing fuel prices, im not so sure...!

I have bought an i10 car (my first) My expectations from the car: - Suitable for family of 3 (me, wife and infant kid) with parents visiting occassionally, so 4.5 people at most - Mostly for city driving with me and wife both being office going - Good looks & Contemporary technology - Decent Mileage / Low maintenance - Budget - 4.75L - 5 Lacs at most To start with diesel car was ruled out as my running would be fairly limited. (Diesel car becomes economic when you have around 20K kms run a year) Started by checking out Maruti cars at Sai service showroom at Andheri, Mumbai. A Star: (4.34 ex showroom for Lxi) Pro - Feature packed car Con - Hardly any boot space / rear seat cramped / low seated driving Ruled it out for lack of space Wagon R: (approx 4L ex showroom for mid version ) Pro - nice car, spacious, low price Con - Old engine / technology, Box design, taxi registration Ruled out for design & old technology Swift : (approx 4.7L ex showroom for base version) Pro: sporty looks, successful and established model, driving pleasure Con: Expensive !!, Low mileage ~10-11 kmpl (being 1300 CC car) Considered seriously though finally ruled out as both entry cost & running cost (coz of low mileage) were pretty high Ritz: Checked it out internet even before release (internationally its splash).. its a good car but was going beyond budget (5L plus on road in mumbai) Then went to A1 Hyundai Showroom at Saki naka, Andheri Mumbai Getz prime: (approx 4.4L ex showroom for base version) Pro: Super interiors (almost sedan like), very spacious and comfortable, Classic looks Con: Old technology, Production halted (as I was told by sales man), Low mileage Considered though Ruled out for outdated aspect i10 Magna: (4.14L ex showroom 4.48L on road price... on this got a deal for govt employees discount of 21K, booked in dad's name to avail the same... overall got it at 4.26L on road w/o accessories) Pro : fairly spacious, hip looks, kappa engine, 13-14 kmpl mileage despite of 1.2 L engine, got a good deal Con : hardly any Choose to go for it for a good deal, looks and decent mileage _______________ This website and forums helped me decide.. Thanks for that... I thought I owe a review _______________ NOTE ON DEALERS - Sai service (Andheri) is a good dealer, prompt response, upfront about price and any other information. Overall I would recommend that dealer A1 Hyundai - Pathetic ! Salesman are not trained. Irresponsible. Pre sales , they would call often. Post sales they just disappear. They did not even take my calls. Delayed the delivery by a good week (its still not delivered). I was promised certain prices & discount on accessories before buying which they turned back on later... and there are various other issues. A strong NO recommendation from my side for the dealer. ______________ Hope this helpsLooks, nice interiors & dashboard, fairly spaciousbody colors,

A car is a tool designed to take people from point A to B safely and in quiet comfort. i10 AT with airbags and ABS does exactly that. Personally, I am high on safety and i10 AT meets my requirements within its form factor (compact car). While driving, both hands should always be on the steering for safety and the automatic lets you exactly do that (although some idiots still use mobile phones even while driving a manual, putting other peoples lives at risk).

I have driven the car several times on the Pune-Mumbai expressway and got the mileage of about 16km/ltr driving at 100k/hr with aircon running at all times. It handled really well on the ghats. One is likely to get better mileage with the speed of about 80k/hr.

In the city, fuel economy is about 10-11k/ltr which is due to the road and traffic conditions rather than the car/engine itself.

Although, I wasn't looking for the sunroof, i10 AT with airbags comes with one. Kids love the sunroof during the monsoons and while driving on roads with high trees.

You can never have enough safety. And towards that, I would have liked to see knee level airbags at the front and airbags for the rear seats as well.

Overall, its a great car for its size and the features. Its not exactly a steal when it comes to the price. However, its a fair value for those who take safety seriously.

Fully loaded, quiet cabin, comfortable enough for the purpose, peppy, informative dashRetsricted leg room for adults in the rear seat. Good enough for kids though.

Exterior Sporty rear looks while the front is so cute!Turn indicators and parking sensors plus better and more bespoke fog lamps are better than the blander old i10.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The dark dashboard is steel gray but unlike a Tata dashboard is not awkward and stops reflecting in front of windshield and is more sporty.Excellent looking blue backlighting from i20 and Verna Transform.

Features Still no climate control but better equipped with parking sensors and Blue Tooth connectivity and also Aux/USB and iPod port.

Space The 225-litre boot is not changed and is decent for some needs.Rear seats are spacious.

Comfort   Front and rear seats are comfortable and legroom and headroom is good.

Gearshift and Fit and Finish Crisp gearshift and great interiors.

i-Relax front seats are good and comfortable.

i-Shift gearshift is easy to reach and crisp.

Steel gray dashboard is sporty and does not reflect in front of the windscreen.

Rear seats are comfortable and better headrests.

The Next Gen Hyundai i10 has a great steering and dash looks good.

The blue backlighting is better looking and is first-class!

The 225-litre boot is not changed and is decent for holidays which are long.

Big boot but rear seats don't split. There is a parcel tray instead.

The chrome door handles are better looking are more shiny.

The new Next Gen Hyundai i10 has luxury car features like parking sensors, Airbags ,ABS and Audio and MiD Controls.

The new Hyundai i10 VTVT is with a good tachometer and steering and the gearshift.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Crisper engine.Great FE of 19.59 Kmpl and total FE is 20 kmpl.Gearbox is i-Shift gearbox and crisp.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride is a bit unsettled but good.Great handling.

Final Words The new i10 VTVT is a peppy and value for money car.It looks bespoke and cute and interiors are good. It is feature rich and swanky and is fun to drive.Rear seats are good and the Airbags and ABS are making the New i10 safe but the old i10 also had ABS and Airbags.Space is good but the tyres are puny and ride is a little unsettled. But i-Relax gearshift is good.Go for the cute New Next Gen i10 as it is the best and most VFM car in this class and Swift, though a class bigger,is more dated looking and the black interiors look awkward.i10 is the best car and has Parking sensors and Bluetooth(The bigger Toyota Innova has no USB/iPod connectivity and Bluetooth connectivity which are in i10).(New one)Hyundai has good aftersales and showroom network and is bespoke looking.

Areas of improvement Only tyre size like in new WagonR and Micra and Beat.

Good interiors,Cute looks,Feature Rich and FETyres not upgraded to beat Chevy Beat and Nissan Micra

Ride Quality & Handling I am going on 150 speed with put shaking and its a good car.and it is the good car and it is superb.

Final Words Its superb than compared to wagnor. wagnor is the waste car and it is the car which u dont get best milage.

Areas of improvement Gear should be little bit back and should increase the height and have to give some more features to magna model vehicles.

Trust me I'm a Car freak and per day I sit in Car websites browing for hours even now after buying one :p anyways this is our third car and also now I drive a maruthi 800std 1999 model still I visited many other showrooms without fixing my mind with any particular brand like maruthi, and almost an year before I have started looking for a new car from Ritz,Swift,Punto till Etios liva. finally we decided to buy WagonR Vxi (ABS) as we got some Financial Crunch inspite we have not even seen the features of the car and taken a test drive so while travelling towards the maruthi showroom on the way we passed via KUN Hyundai where I suddenly took a 'U'Turn and just stepped in to look at Hyundai products which we really missed to check out in the past 1 year, It was a Garnet Red i10 at the entrance pulled my parents eyes but my thirst was against i20 Asta CRDI but it was twice the time over my actual money balance in my account :D hence I got to move along with my parents on to i10 magna 1.2 and got the demo and enquired about the cost and discount finally WagonR and i10 were having a difference of 30-40K max so my dad suggested me to take the powerful and a rigid one out of these two so we landed up at i10 sports which has ORVM indicators integrated music sys with USB, spoilers, kappa2 engine, defogger, rear wipes along with some descent discount of around 49k worth , so these were the few catchy points that made us to switch on to Hyundai i10 Sports Garnet Red.

Exterior Comparing with other cars i felt the exterior is very good with some premium shine for the cost that we pay , as said above I have purchased 1.2 Sports at 5,16000 after discount where as no other car with 1.2 litre engine with loads of feature fall in this segment at this price bracket.

      compare it with these below

      Figo Exi

      wagon R Vxi / Astar / Alto K10 /Zen estilo

      Ritz Lxi/Swift Lxi

      Etios liva

      EON/Santro GL

defenitely the obove would not give you a premium look and feel atleast with looks.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) A very much descent interiors with this segment with good dash board and rear adjustable head rests added some more interior asthetics to my car is what I felt , rear space is much descent almost similar to the bench mark car ( maruthi 800 ) obviously a descent amount of boot space as well 3 in the rear would be comfortable provided the occupants are not too tough to be placed in :P

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Here is the problem I drove the car in Hills for some 3 kms which really made me feel why i bought this one as I wasnt able to drive changing the gear out of 2nd with three passengers.

But also to highlight its the fastest in the segment and yes in highways it was easily crossing 100 without any strain but in hills it was horrible compared with my Maruthi 800 or my Old Fiat they were outperforming this i10 but not sure if this would get solved after running some kms and done with 2 services as its 20 days old and 400 kms done

Fuel Economy : i got only 10-11 Kmpl city+highway with full AC i check it 2wice but again this might improve after 2-3 services is what i heard

Ride Quality & Handling Brakes are too good , drive is too good , power steering is bit hard and would resemble like a Hydraulic power but actually its a electric power still it gave us a comfortable journey of 140 kms at a stretch

Final Words You can buy i10 only if your monthy drive is less than 500kms and defenitely opt a Ford Figo Titanium trim TDCI (DIESEL) if you are a daily driver and monthly 1000kms is your drive limit

Areas of improvement Mileage, Mileage ,Mileage kappa2 is good to see with its technology but it should return a good mileage of atleast 16-18 kmpl which I would not expect more for petrol cars but yes fords ecoboost petrol would give 20+ in future i.e. after launched in india so hyundai might also come up with such designs but defenitely they will not till 2015 after then they might look onto mechanical upgrades on petrol as the market is fluctuating with confused buyers either to go for diesel or a Petrol (along with CNG kit).

Final Verdict : If CNG is widely started using I would really fit that KIT onto my i10 purchasing from hyundai and hopefully it shouldnt be harming my engine life and also give out a good mileage of 20 to 25 kmpl then i dont mind spending 50K for that kit so better Petrol cars are safe than opting a diesel ones as the cost is often fluctuating rather raising even in some point both might cost us more only CNG should be the next alternative which can be adopted only by petrol running cars.

I10 is a best car provided you earn 40K+ per month else go for Ford Figo Diesel which would give you 20kmpl mileage

Give a Premium look and feel cute and descent for city traffic drivePoor Mileage !! so far done just 400kms and give only 11kmpl

I purchased i10 Magna 1.2 Kappa 2. Things Needs to be Improved, Very Poor Mileage 10 Kmpl, I have 5 i10 Magna 1.2 Kappa 2 in my friend circle all have bad mileage, but in other reviews I have seens that after four months, it is giving a mileage of 12-13 kmpl on an average with 50% of time A/C on.

Mileage Meter should be provided, Vipper dosnt has only normal and High Speed, it should have slow speed also, No protection for side bupper to safe gaurd from scratch, Cup holders are small.

      Things that I liked

Nice Features, Space & Comfort As compared to other cars in this segment

Ride Quality is good and handling it even for a beginner is very easy. However, as I mentioned, driver's seat is slightly facing towards the right edge which may give your body unusual discomfort on the long drive (6-8 hrs continuous drive).

      2 Charging Points.

      3 Cup holders.

      2-Din CD player is Awsome.

The Gear Stick is at un-usual place but it feels really good.

Final Words I actually expected lot out of this car and to some extent I got what they promised. However, Fuel economy is hurting me badly and more so because of ever increasing petrol prices.

Final Words about Imporvement Mileage, Mileage and Mileage. If that is improved, only then they should focus on Driver's seat alignment.

      StylePoor Mileage 10 Kmpl

Got my i10 (Asta with sunroof) just 2 days back and am already in love with this beauty. Though initially I felt the 6lac price was a tad too much, once inside the vehicle I forgot about it.

The console integrated gear box makes the vehicle looks cooler, though it'll take time to get used to. Certainly a first in Indian cars I guess. The 1.2 Ltr. Kappa revs as smoothly as scotch. Even at night I failed to realise whether the engine is on.

Hyundai sticks to it's trademark, small on the outside, big on the inside. It's as spacious as the Getz. Only engine and boot space have been reduced to give it the compact look. However small the car looks, it's no tortoise by any means. Thought not as perky as the Getz, the pickup and driving experience is quite good at 79 BHP.

Though the boot is small they've still added a lamp. Wonder whether that was necessary. Also, The i10 being a city car, the dual airbags & ABS seems like a fancy addition rather and a practical one as it would hardly be used in our stop and go city traffic. Others may differ here. They should have rather included alloy wheels which is beneficial in all driving conditions.

Also, the tinted windows are a waste as they are too light and you still need to put a sun control film anyway. They could have easily knocked off upto 30k without the above features or at least should have made them optional.

      PROS:
An ergonomically designed dashboard, Leather covered steering wheel, keyless entry, tubeless tyres, beige interiors all add class to this car. The integrated stereo is nice but the speakers leave much to be desired. But that's the case in all cars which come with integrated systems, so you can always change the speakers to suit your tastes.

The seat belt warning is a neat addition, it'll save me some money (bribes) as the laws are strict these days. Besides this there's a whole bunch of warnings and indicators, very useful.

Finally the sunroof. Very smooth operation. Love the way it slides back and forth. The build quality looks excellent. Though, not much of use in our country, still a neat addition at just 15k extra. The slide and the tilt function add a sophisticated feeling. It's a great feature to boast to your friends. Though I hope Hyundai has taken care about quality else I'll have to buy another umbrella.

The expected mileage is 12-15 in city but it's too soon for me to comment. Overall I feel it's more of a youngsters car rather than a family car. Those interested in something bigger can wait for the i20 to be launched in Diwali. It'll feature a kappa engine as well.Excellent styling(inside-out), console integrated gearbox, ABS, tubeless tyres & sunroofNone at the moment

I bought Magna 1.2 MT  by last oct('08) and it's a pleasure for me to write about this cool stuff. I love it's power and response it's giving to me even in the worst roads and conditions. Thanks Hyundai !!!!!!!

After driving this car more than 7400  Kms, I still feel happy to drive it more. The only noticable thing against this small Hatch is with the sales and especially with the dealers. They played some dirty games to sell IRDE even after launching KAPPA. The KAPPA is extrmely good. It gives me milage around 16-17 Kmpl with respect to the usage of AC.

Now the cutie is pretty close to it's second free service. I hope things will be more better after this.

      Cheers !
