I was planning to buy a car for long then finally narrowed down my choices to Swift Vxi and Brio SMT, Below points made me opt Brio:

      1. Swift was costing me 5.95 say 6 (In Bangalore) on road  Brio costed me 5.10 (with reverse parking scensor, carpets and other goodies),

      2. Maruti guys were taking us for granted like if you want to buy on our terms then buy otherwise go away... In short "we dont care attitude",

      3. Same power as Swift (Actually more  Brio has 88PS@6000RPM Swift has 87, Power weight ratio is 94.57 for Brio and 89.58 for Swift ;)),

      4. Swift dosent even have an audio system, Brio has an intergrated high end audio system with FM,MP3, USB, AUX-in and more over Steering- mounted Audio control Switch... Turst me you wont even get this in many others :) and it feels gud when people say ohhh... u even have this as well in your car... my car sucks.. I could have bought Brio.. (I wish I have recorded this when I heard it from not one but many)

      5. Far better and quality interiors, I drove many cars, when you drive in Punto, Swift or Figo you feel like its actually congusted but in Brio you will actually feel space inside and better visibility. Honda havnt compromised quality, you can compare its interiors with high end Honda cars like Civic and Honda (Do keep Interior/Cost ratio is for sure highest in Brio).

      6. Brio looks small from outside but when you jump in you will feel in space, I really wonder how they got this hell lot of space with in.

      7. The fastest: Got below data from team bhp side:

      20-80kph timings in 3rd gear:
      Ford Figo: 16.84 sec
      Suzuki Swift: 16.28 sec
      Honda Jazz: 15.96 sec
      Honda Brio: 14.51 sec
      Hyundai i20: 16.57 sec
      Toyota Liva: 15.81 sec
      VW Polo: 16.83 sec
      Fiat Punto: 15.98 sec

      8. Finally we have to understand Honda has putted in all its expertise to get hold of market in small car segment  and as far as I can think they did justice, well done Honda.

      Now post buying experince:

I have drove more then 1000 Kms till date, I wanted to hold my horses for quite some time in order to give a fair enough review about the car now I guess I have the Expectation Vs Realtity rato:

      1. Milage: I am getting 14.2 with A/C in city and I went twice on a long drive on highway, once just to test the Milage (And the inbuit milage displayer) I got 17 and 17.3 with A/C, first service is still due, I hope/wish it will increase.

      2. Feels like its a luxury car, A head turner for sure, keeps you out of crowd.

      3. Driving its just effortless, Its Steering... Man thts freaking smooth! Better then most of the cars I have driven and trust me I have driven many.

      4. When going through the reviews earlier I have read that it has less boot space, I wonder why people say that Its 175 L, its less broad but its very deep, for me its perfect, its more then what I have expected. Swift has 210 L but ever mind. Do have a look at:

      https://picasaweb.google.com/107039472610097876200/BootSpace?authkey=Gv1sRgCOOPt5W6-96rjgE#5765755461385105330

      5. Everything promised was delivered, Honda didnt disappointed me in any way. And yes, It really loves you back!

      Cheers..!!!

Its Honda, Looks, Mileage, Amazing Interiors, Awesome Driving Experience,Owners of I10, Swift etc will envy you for buying this.

Exterior Not much good not much complaining. Back has a new design of full glass, a very different & attractive feature. Not much curves as u expect from HONDA.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Audio dosent support CD's looks  are very common to City, overall dash board looks good. Space is not so confined as looks fron exterior still leg room on rear seats is less.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox No points of complaining when it is HONDA engine is very refined and performs well even when AC is ON which is generally a problen in this segment of cars. V-Tec engine delivers great power and also good mileage. This is the day of launch I have made about 118 Kms in 6 liters.

Ride Quality & Handling Both are superb power steering gives feel of HONDA. Power is some thing to feel in the cabin.

Final Words Very good car for a small family and city driving plus class of HONDA.

      Areas of improvement NA.

HONDA class, refined engine, fuel economysooooo small car

Exterior I own my Black Honda Brio V MT since 24th October 2011 i.e I am writing this review after thoroughly testing my car for 10 days. The front of my black Brio looks macho and manly. Its not a soft looking cute car. Its a male species just like Pulsar among bikes. Large head lamps & broad chrome grille with stylish fog lamps & air intake makes it look like a big car when viewed from the front. I just love its front styling. Its very sporty & looks rugged. Its a HEAD TURNER.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The interiors of my Brio are BETTER THAN MY HONDA CITY iVTEC 2010 MODEL. The quality of plastics, design & layout of the dashboard & door mouldings are a step ahead of Honda City which is far costlier than Brio. I owned Honda City for over 18 months till I met with an unfortunate accident and my City was declared "Total Loss" by the insurance company. I loved it and wanted to buy it again but sources told me that a new City with major cosmetic changes is in pipeline. So I test driven Brio which I felt very similar to City in terms of driving pleasure. Seriously telling that Brio's suspension set-up is far better than the City. Its more comfortable on patchy, bumpy surfaces plus the body roll is very less at speeds above 140 KMPH, while turning on expressways at high speeds. City felt nervous and I felt out of control as the body roll was too much, but in Brio I am surprised ! It has magical suspension. Feauture wise I think my top V model is missing many useful features: Automatic climate control system, one touch window on driver side, illuminated switches on the driver door and the steering wheel, hight adjustable driver's seat, floor mats are also not supplied!!, chrome exhaust like City V, City like sterio antena... cos the Brio comes with most old fashioned and irritating pull-steel-rod type antena which looks very ugly and using it also makes me feel down-market. So I keep it closed as it looks outdated. Space is good for a car of such small dimentions. Its cos Honda has only shortened and the width of this car is similar to Swift from inside. Its really spacious at front. In rear also its spacious for ladies and short people, as I found the headroom very less at the back. The seats the very soft and comfy and the fabric fantastic.  The dashboard is very wide and solid, and it gives us a sense of space and solidity. The doors are solid and they close with a big car like "thud". The rear door is very special as its completely made up of toughned glass. The rear of Brio is outstanding and makes it look futuristic and it looks really special. From side it looks its ready to run!

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Great performance, the engine loves to be revved, there's no engine noise at idle. The throttle voice sounds sporty when revved hard, very smooth engine, slick gear box like knife in butter, fuel economy I can't guess right now but its giving me 12.2 KMPL in city traffic with AC on. The car has just run 550 KM.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is excellent. Handling is agile, commendable & accurate. The eleectronic steering feels and operates well.

Final Words Buy V MT if you love your life & your family. It comes with all safety features like: Dual SRS airbags (iSRS on driver's side), ABS, EBD, Pretentioner seat belts, engine immobiliser...... plus other goodies like: Sexy alloy wheels, fog lamps, electric mirrors, silver finish on door panels, height adjustable power steering, double vanity mirrors, nice beige seat covers + more....

      Areas of improvement

      Automatic climate control system.

One touch window on driver side.

Illuminated switches on the driver door and the steering wheel.

      Height adjustable driver's seat.

      Floor mats.

Chrome exhaust like Honda City V.

      Honda City like sterio antena.

      Distance-To-Empty meter.

Glove box panel gap very wide.

Driving dynamics, driving plesure, driving position, front seat comfort, futuristic stylingNo automatic climate control, no one touch up-down driver wiindow, steering buttons not illuminated

This is my first review so I hope whoever reads it finds it useful. I bought my car on the 30th of August. On road price of the car was 5,58,000 + 9000(RSA+extended warranty) = 5,67,000/-

Seat covers got put from outside, cost around 5k. Tints in the car cost 9k, llumar. 90% front and 60% sides and back heat reduction. My car has done only 700kms till now, hence you can relate the review accordingly. It took my 2 months to finally go ahead and finalize on a car, and the brio was the obvious choice.

BRIO is the BEST car in its price Segment.

      Swift - too expensive.

i10 - cost approx 30k more but the drive was not even comparable with the brio. (brio kicked ass).

Figo - drive is shit, car is 20-30k cheaper. nothing compared to the brio

Ritz - not test driven it, but hate the looks of that car.

      Polo - too expensive.

Micra - I feel the car is too cramped up. It is smooth, but the brio has a way more cheerful engine.

Indica - last car was a indica, which was a petrol and was shit. hence didnt bother even considering a comparision.

Alto / Eon - lower segment

      Punto/jazz/pulse - too expensive

Toyoya Liva -didnt test drive, but It was more expensive than the Brio, and I had read bad reviews of it on carwale.com

Once you test drive the brio, you wont find a car better than it in this price.

(I have heard it has the same engine as the jazz, dont know if its true, but certainly feels very powerful).

Exterior The look of the car in my opinion is stunning, its been really long since a car has appealed to me as much. Front of the car looks awesome, even better than the city I can say, but ofcourse the glass back might not be likeable for a lot of people.

My model S(O)MT doesnt have alloy wheels and fog lamps. Alloy wheels would look much better, but I like the look of the car with the entire rim as well.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) There is no cd player, which is not really required. aux and usb port are more than enough. Steering mounted control for the music player is really cool to have in a car of this price.

According to me this car has more space in comparision to the i10, Swift, Micra, Ritz, Alto etc. Only car that has more leg room than this car at the back seat will be the Indica. Figo would be at par, but not more. Reason for this is the front seats are very thin, hence increasing the amount of space.

Everyone in my family is 6' feet tall, and we are happy with the space in this car.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engine hasnt freed up yet, hence it pulls a little. not planning to cross the 100lm/k mark till the first service which is at 1000kms. First tank gave me a mileage of 11km/l. Second tank I drove part city and part highway, gave me a mileage of 13. Part city means only 1st and 2nd gear.

Ride Quality & Handling Since the car is new, cant feel and bumps on the road. the handlin is just superb. Only time will tell how sturdy the suspension is.

Final Words Am in love with this car. Honda will never disappoint.

Areas of improvement I wish Honda has put in a back wiper, would have made this car just perfect.

Everything about the car is a proVery small boot, and no rear washer/defogger

      Exterior Lovely Xternal ones.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) First I was in dilemma due to space reviews on net. But Yesterday dated 14th dec 20011 after purchasing and actually driving found out tht there is no such thing as less space. Though I figured that there is less boot space but I also understand that I have purchased a small car andnot sedan. There is enough space for family. I had drove car with heavy body and tall  person too. It is very very clever on Honda part to have curve the back of front seat to rest knee properly. Very Very Comfortable CAr.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox One of my friend started car didnt realise that already it is started n again ihe gave ignition and it made small sound.  Lovely car no sound from engine, very very light Sterring and super smooth gears. I was able to change gears with my finger. Though knob ( Top of gear) seems small but very very effective. The fuel eco of car just coming out of dealer is 19.1 ( drove 70kms ). If we considere error of 3 km/l I stil get 16 kms/lit from a car tht has just come out of showroom. I have friends who purchased Polo, EON all complaint of not getting avg and dealer explained that they will definately get a god avg after first service. but my car is just giving now even b4 first service.

Ride Quality & Handling The super  smooth sterring is giving xcellent handling. lovely jumpers didnt bumps with mediate height.

Final Words Just buy it. Its value for money.

Exterior Unique and stylish, aerodynamic-low air drag, good paint quality, beautiful front bumper. sports car looks, right amount of curves, honda alloys look good and distinct, red color is better than other cars.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good quality plastics, good music system, on steerin controls, spacious for 5 people. boot space is good for city driving, nice hydraulic for rear boot door., great safety features, sports car intrument panel. enogh space on rear parcel tray, decent glove box. cd player is missing, that is futuristic vision.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Honda's ivtec, excellent performance, and mileage. gear shift is smooth, if hydraulic clutch is pressed fully. decemnt pick up. need to drive in ECO mode for best mileage.

Ride Quality & Handling Excellent view for driver and cotton soft steering. good headlights. Nice side view mirror.

Final Words Honda's one more Vlaue for Money car. true city hatchback car.

Exterior Everything new about it. I could'nt find anything which is not good.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Inside space is very very good. I find v good space inside on the front side as I know as a driver and for the co passenger. Rear space I have to check. But I think that's better than any other car in this segment.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is real good, pick up is real good, fuel economy I have still to check. Gearbox as smooth as silk as in honda city.

Ride Quality & Handling I am a proud owner of honda city and now a all new honda Brio. I booked the smt model but due to shortage at honda. I opted for the top model and i have no regrets spending a few more for a quality product like honda;s brio. Now i m proud I own both honda cars. Honda guys does a v good job in making petrol cars, its wonderful. I love it.

Final Words Today was the first day i drove this beauty, and the streets i passed not a single person missed to turn his head to see the beauty.

Areas of improvement If I will find area of improvement. I will write to honda guys.

good styling, good interiors and pick up....still cant find one

Exterior Excellent Eye Catching Ext. While driving eveybodys eyes on my car. I have just got it yesterday dated 14th Dec 2011.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Earlier b4 purchasing this car I was in 2 minds whether it has more space. but after I have it I feel the space is huge & very very clever on honda part to give curve on back of front seat to have more knee/leg space. Though boot space is adequate not too large not too small. Here I have undestood that  I have not purchased a SEdan but an small car with luxury features.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine Very very smooth. One of my friend started car didnt realise that already it is started n again ihe gave ignition and it made small sound.  Lovely car no sound from engine, very very light Sterring and super smooth gears. I was able to change gears with my finger. Though knob ( Top of gear) seems small but very very effective. The super  smooth sterring is giving xcellent handling. lovely jumpers didnt bumps with mediate height. First on highway of ride 70kms (2 ways) gave me avg of 19.1 km/lit. Image a car coming out if showroom with avg as this is very nice. Many of my friends purchased other cars like Polo, Eon etc but they all spoke to dealer for their avg n dealer told them that it will increase or get better after first service but in my case it gave me on my first ride. lastly lovely car.

Ride Quality & Handling One of my friend started car didnt realise that already it is started n again ihe gave ignition and it made small sound. Exterior Looks good, but you may feel it's very small car before you enter inside.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Being a small hatch, I do not expect more space. However, I'm amazed the space available for driver seat and co-passenger and also rear space is not bad. This is due to intelegently shaped front side seats.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox No other car in this size can reach 0 - 100 in 13 (approx) seconds. I'm able to pull the car from short signal at 2 gear.

I've not really tested the fuel efficiency, but drove the car 100 km with 7 liters (I filled only for 500 rupees of petrol) and still I can make around 20 - 30 KM.

Gearbox is very precise and also short throw so you can tackel the city traffic without any problem. The most important thing is you no need to change the gears very frequently, because car can move from 2 nd gear itself and you can apply 5 gear at 40 KMPH itself.

Ride Quality & Handling No noise on the cabin, engine refinement is top notch, excelent stablity@high speed, stearing is very accurate and smooth, shorter turning radius and easy to read speedo meter

Final Words Honda proved once again they are the best in class and this car is for the small family and also who wish to enjoy the Honda Quality at low cost. Honda Badge means Pride and re-sale value.

Areas of improvement Rear seat head room needs to be more for tall guys like me (6 feet plus).

Refinement and HandlingBoot space, it's just 175 liters too small if you wish to pick up your friend from Airport

Exterior Brio’s body design and exterior looks are attractive

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Adequate space for driver and front passenger, but rear seat and window could be better.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Surprisingly no zip and poor pickup at start for a Honda 1200 cc engine with 88 bhp power, claimed 18.4 kmpl and lamp indicator for fuel economy, smooth gear shift.

Ride Quality & Handling Smooth and reasonable, steering and brakes satisfactory.

Final Words On a traffic-free Sunday morning, test drive provided for barely 2 km by Honda dealer in Mumbai.

      Areas of improvement

      1. Increase boot space to meet its class of hatchbacks

      2. Improve hatch cover (although of 5 mm tempered glass) to meets its class of cars

      3. Provide tray to hide contents in boot
