I aquired my Ford Endeavour Thunder Plus after toilling a lot over so many SUV's.I being a doctor had opportunity to have driven manu SUV's in Europe all over and in USA too. After my comeback to India ther wasn't a single Motor company who had looked at this segment.Only conventional Jeep kind of vehicles were available and I personally doubt very much if any dedicated research is been put in to ensure passenger safety.
I evaluated very critically New Tata Safari( 2.2),Honda CRV ( new,2008),Mitsubishi Pajero. All these three vehicles as they kind of fit into each other price range wise and also specifications wise.I was also observing How Ford Company behaves in terms of offering more models to Indian Market.Ford Endevour, then new Endeavour 2.5 and now 3 litre Thunder plus.
I drove my first 125 kms in Thunder Plus and take my word for it ...its a powertrain, an absolute beast on & off road, tremendous driveability, very stable on turnings. Its the coming of Hummer to India.I highly recommend it to all enthusiasts and go for 4 wheel drive. You may use it sparingly but, its good to know you have 4 wheel drive in store with you.

Fantastic Macho looksPlastic is bad, more wooden touch will give a better feel

Ride the road in an Endeavour !! The Monmouth runs just smooth and silent, waiting to leap as you tap the accelerator. Feel the power unleashed as you sit calm in your driver’s seat, so comfortable and secure.

The steering wheel is a perfect feel, set it to the comfort position, where your fingers just rest on the lower octave for effortless handling. A well balanced and smooth gearbox, just a whistle blow is enough to shift !!

Claustrophobia is no where, as touch of the levers knock down all the seats behind, grab a good nap if you want, or carry stuff for a months holiday !!

Its night ride or a warm sunny day, the feel and comforts inside is upbeat and safe. Now the looks ..The Mafia look stark Black or the classy family look in satin white or you like the European cool burgundy or cherry ??  all is there to suit your senses. Finally, its all that of the Rovers, Cruiser, 3-star, or the beamers. But less the running costs and heavy emis !!   Endeavour, Ride the Road !!

      Extremely happy with this SUV.

Its Huge, Very Spacious and the performance is so great that I can't think of driving any other car now.

Every thing is so good that once you get used to, its difficult to settle for lesser comfort.

I can drive Endeavour for 10-12 hours on highways and bad roads as well easily with just a small tea break.

Although I own a 4X4, haven't really got opportunity to extensively use the 4X4 drive. Torque otherwise in 2 wheel drive is so good that heven't got a chance to engage 4X4 for more than 10-15 mins. Must do expeditions to get the pleasure of 4X4.

The massive tyre size makes the driving experience most wonderful.

Hats off to Ford for making this wonder SUV.

This vehicle surprises considering how simple the vehicle really is. It is very old in terms of styling and vehicle design. It has the underpinnings of Ford small trucks like ranger.

Drive- City conditions the vehicle exhibits good pickup, adequate manouverability, decent ride, decent level noise. I believe it should be capable offroad also because of its heritage.

Dynamics- lane changes are not so comfortable. Excessive body roll makes one a bit tentative and scared to push it to its limits. straight line driving and potholes etc. are good.Braking is very poor. Still selling drum brakes. For a vehicle this size, good disk brakes are a must. I almost hit the couple in front of me on a motorcycle while trying to get this beast to stop.

Suspension- Front torsion bar and rear leaf spring. As old as they get. However this is also a reliable setup. Truck frame is fully boxed and should be good for towing

Interiors- Decent and truck like. hand parking brake is wierd. third row seat did not look substantial.

4X4- did not engage it. However having to stop to change to this mode is rediculous at this price range. Ford has " shift on the fly" technology and should provide the same.

Not a bad vehicle overall. However in this price range there are a lot of options, if the use is for city driving. For other areas such as project sites or rural driving it might be worth considering. It can also be used to tow a trailer etc.

      GOOD OVER ALLSPACIOUS

Exterior The car is very well built, and is longest of all suvs'. proper cuts and edges gives it a very lean and masculine look. The body is made very precisely keeping aerodynamics in mind.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The interiors are plush. Nothing more that u can expect in a SUV. Much better than the interiors in Fortuner which gives you more of an innova look fron inside.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engine is very responsive. Its a powerful engine which gives the car go anywhere ability. The fuel economy is 12 km/l which is somehow good in a SUV. Talking about the gearbox, it is a proper one with appropriate gear ratios for individual gears.

Final Words I have all the three in its class SUVs' the Fortuner, the Pajero and the Endeavour but the best which i think is the Endeavour.

Areas of improvement Lighting. I think car's lighting needs to be improved.

      stylish looks,ride and handling quality,road presence,plush interiorsmileage

Exterior For old version the look was far gracefull than the new version.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior is at par not too good, space is definately more than enough ONLY REAR PASSENGER COMFORT IS BAD AS THE VEHICLE TOSS THE REAR PASSENGER.  HENCE I HAVE SHIFTED TO ARC COMPOSITE LEAF SUSPENSION WHICH OFFERS ME FEEL LIKE A AIRSUSPENSION CAR & NOW OLDER PEOPLE ARE READY TO SEAT AT BOTH REAR SEATS THANKS TO ARC COPOSITESUPENSION WHO ARE OFFERING SUCH A BEAUTIFULL SUSPENSION.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Initial Mazda Engine is littlebit sluggish but the new TDCI is fantastic gives a feel like as if you are drving a small car. New TDCI has better milage around 10. 5 to 11 km/lt & old has 9 to 10 km/ltt. No problem with gearBox since 2004, no maintainance  atall.

Ride Quality & Handling Get a feel of Racing car with new TDCI Beast Good handling on steering only problem with breaks sometimes you have to pump like old version trucks where FORD has to do improvement so that the driver can have better confidance.

Final Words OVERALL REAL VALUE FOR MONEY whenever compaired with other same cost varients.

Areas of improvement BREAKING. REAR SUSPENSION,LITTLE PART OF INTERIOR INPLASTICS.

Value for money ,good mileage, no maintainance on my both new & old versionsI don't like the Rear Passenger comfort feels like giving very hard jurks
