Exterior The Endeavour Thunder plus is my prized possession and I have finished nearly 60000 kms without a hitch. The car holds its own in looks with the latter and wheel cover combined with an imposing or should I say intimidating front cloaking a huge carnivore under the hood!

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) So so but the 6 cd changer and dvd are of fine quality with excellent speakers.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Great fuel efficiency around 10 on highways and 8 in the city which for a 3 litre baby on the diesel diet, is quite cool.

Ride Quality & Handling Pretty good and very easy to handle. You will never drive a sedan once you taste the power of this 3 litre Endeavour.

Final Words I think all the suvs in this segment and upto the 28 lac mark are overprised and I challenge any of those guys to take me on in my Thunder any day any place. There will be only one winner!

The sheer power and grip.Plastic isn't great but more VFM overall

ExteriorThis is an attractive SUV. looks really macho from all angles   . I have a 4x2  black endeavour and the looks are really  killing.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)  The space inside is flattering, not the last row though. the last row is only suitable and comfortable for kids. i use it as boot only. Features are pretty regular if u compare it with what is being offered these days.  6 cd changer , no bluetooth( mine is 2010 ), no steering controls etc. dual ac which i would say is average in its performance.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox 140 bhp with 330 nm of torque. if ure on a highway its a bliss to have this car in ure hands. The real fun starts at about 1800rpm when u suddenly feel the push and there it goes. In the city being a huge car , almost 5100mm it gets difficult with slow , bumper to bumper traffic, however i must say that the turbo lag is well controlled and with a little bit of clutch management u can pull it up from the 3rd gear. An additional  mirror on the bonnet is advisable . it really is a big help and gives u the confidence to squeeze this monster in heavy traffic.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality id seriously hampered because of the leaf spring suspension. U actually feel it when u take it on a slightly bad road, not even talking about offroading.... this is a very big minus with this car. If any body is using the composite carbon  fibre leafsprings, which ive heard improve the suspension and ride quality, please share ure experience. Handling is fine , no body roll and cuts thru the corners well.

Final Words Don't regret buying this suv at all..... well , only when stuck in the Delhi traffic .. i feel otherwise.

Areas of improvement   Suspension , suspension and suspension

The exterior .. looks, space inside, precise steering, powersuspension, suspension and suspension.

There is no denying the Ford legacy in the Endeavour's overall architecture. The front end is distinctive with its high bonnet and behemoth size. The rather aggressive fascia out-front is decked up with a large, bold and sporty looking grille as well as multi-reflector headlamps. Aiding and abetting the new Endeavour, in its hardy off-road worthiness, are the mud flaps and wheel moldings along with fashionable roof rails. Silver side-steps run along the length of the vehicle and accentuate its brute quality. The Thunder+ variant offers a classier exterior compared to the XLT. It has larger mirrors that incorporate turn indicators and puddle lamps, a spare wheel cover, body cladding and many more attractive features.

The variants offers wide tyres (265/70 R16) that facilitate the most favourable combination of traction and stability on slippery ground.

It is also fitted with a highly toughened and modern bull bar, two-tone body cladding that gives it an even sportier look, alloy wheels, a fifth door mirror that comes in handy while parking or reversing, and a hard top cover for the extra tyre that can be locked to prevent its theft. Decals on the body of the vehicle enhance its looks.

The interior of the Ford Endeavour is roomy and elegant with world-class levels of comfort. Both the variants are endowed with luxurious leather upholstery and AC vents for all the three rows to make long and bumpy drives cushy. It comes with well-appointed amenities harboring little details, that both surprise and delight. For entertainment on-the-go, the vehicle has been endowed with an iPOD-compatible audio system. The Thunder+ is enhanced by Camel tone full leather interiors, six CD changer and MP3 player with six speakers. The entertainment is also loaded with an interior roof-mounted DVD player and dual air conditioning with controls mounted on the ceiling.

A standard cutting-edge theft protection feature, passive anti-theft system (PATS), prevents the engine from being started with an incorrectly coded key by automatically shutting off fuel to the fuel injection system after two seconds. A high visibility "command" driving position makes for better visibility while driving. Also included in the new Ford Endeavour are amenities such as a 4-wheel ABS with EBD and dual airbags, child-proof rear door locks, fuel tank shields, seat belts for all seven occupants, front passenger airbags, and more.

major issues with fortuner direct from owners

      http://www.consumercomplaints.in//complaints/toyota-fortuner-c274526.html

even i noticed these brake related issues while doing the test drive of fortuner

i think it will take toyota 1-2 years to fix all issues and then it will be worth a buy..and compared to the price fortuner is coming close to 21 L on road, i think i took a better decision of going with the endeavour which has been more or less perfected over the years and offers full value for money

      Exterior

       best

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

       best in its class

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

very good but fuel economy ok gearbox is good as far as automatic version is concerned no idea abt manual one.

      Ride Quality & Handling

excellent on road and off road. but very bumpy for the rear passenger. should improve rear shockers for a smooth ride.

      Final Words

this is the best car available on road in this price if we compare to same other class cars like fortuner because fortuner does not give the facilities like endeavour. but the company should have given climate control a/c and audio controls on the steering which are very common faetures in every segment of car available on road today. compared to the price it should be there because fortuner gives these 2 things.

      Areas of improvement

dealer network not good and spare costs should be lower because they are too high.

best suv on road in the offered pricethere is nothing that one would not like abt this suv

      Exterior Very Good.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Atleast Much better than Fortuner.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Great.

      Ride Quality & Handling Great.

Final Words A very good SUV. If you are thinking about fortuner then I'd like to tell that its much better than fortuner. Though fortuner looks quiet better than Endeavour But don't go for look only endeavour is much better than fortuner in rest.

Endeavour has that hold on ground and ease of driving without any vibrations, while cruising there is no sound at all in the cabin.  at fast speeds on highways the steering and hold gives lot of confidence. Overall fun while driving this car. With fortuner there is lot of vibrations in the cabin and little loss of confidence in driving at high speeds. About endeavour not having a manual transmission in the 4 x 4 version i am very dissapointed. my points fortuner vs endeavour - 7/9.

      Areas of improvement None!

Exterior Excellent, it looks musculer and solid build as it is.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Fair enough for a SUV in this class, space and comfort is there, I have gone for long trip 8000+ KM within 20 days and it was really fun to drive this car. we covered 1000+ KM in 12-14hr we hardly feel uncomfortable. We take it till 175 KM/Hr speed and the handling and much more easy then what I though. A dream car for those who want to explore end-less possibility on road with safety.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is very responsive and quick if you want to zip it for quick speed on road, you feel bit noisy inside for a while but after few km the engine is smooth and salient. I never feel the Fuel consumption is more, even some time I get 12+ KM/L with normal diesel.

Ride Quality & Handling Smooth on rough road and very safe on high speed. The Breaking is too good, the grip on road is excellent, I drove this car in Gulmarg (Kashmir) in snow covered road and that time I was only the one who have a speed of 70 KM/hr in that type of road, obviously I was using 4x4.

Final Words A car you underestimate before driving and when you have this and drive for few KM then you fall in love with it! can't believe me try it, I am dam sure you will understand why I am saying this

Areas of improvement suspension, Music system, the cabin should be more silent.

Looks, power, easy handling, engin response, safebit noisy inside

      I drove a 4X4 3 litre engine

This vehicle surprises considering how simple the vehicle really is. It is very old in terms of styling and vehicle design. It has the underpinnings of Ford small trucks like ranger.

Drive- City conditions the vehicle exhibits good pickup, adequate manouverability, decent ride, decent level noise. I believe it should be capable offroad also because of its heritage.

Dynamics- lane changes are not so comfortable. Excessive body roll makes one a bit tentative and scared to push it to its limits. straight line driving and potholes etc. are good.Braking is very poor. Still selling drum brakes. For a vehicle this size, good disk brakes are a must. I almost hit the couple in front of me on a motorcycle while trying to get this beast to stop.

Suspension- Front torsion bar and rear leaf spring. As old as they get. However this is also a reliable setup. Truck frame is fully boxed and should be good for towing

Interiors- Decent and truck like. hand parking brake is wierd. third row seat did not look substantial.

4X4- did not engage it. However having to stop to change to this mode is rediculous at this price range. Ford has " shift on the fly" technology and should provide the same.

Not a bad vehicle overall. However in this price range there are a lot of options, if the use is for city driving. For other areas such as project sites or rural driving it might be worth considering. It can also be used to tow a trailer etc.

Biggest drawback- Price (rediculous) and possibility of roll over.

decent power, good ride, spacious, comfortable, good offroaderok interiors, old arcitecture frame and suspension, poor braking, body roll
