We have often wondered what these fun-to-drive people carriers would feel like on the track, and this year's CarWale Track Day seemed like the perfect opportunity to put them to the test. From popular compact SUVs like the Tata Nexon and the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza to hatchbacks like the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI and the Hyundai i20 Turbo-GDi and even a diesel, in the form of the Honda City - these are the everyday heroes driven hard at the MMRT, near Chennai. But that's not all, we even drove the mind-boggling BMW M340i xDrive to see if it remains as magical to drive on the track as it does on the road. Volkswagen threw in a surprise by letting us borrow the next-gen Race Polo and hoon it around its home playground.
