Final Words
I purchased my Toyota Liva GD on 31 Mar 2012. I have driven a little over 1200kms, including a trip from Chennai to Bangalore and back. The fuel economy from tank up auto fuel cut off to tank up auto fuel cut off was 18.9 kms on the highway.
A very serious manufacturing defect with Toyota Liva GD is the front suspensions. While riding over a speed breaker even at low speeds, an unusual and loud thud noise is heard from the front suspensions. I have reported this complaint to Harsha Toyota Poomamallee, Chennai. The technical expert on the subject was not surprised at my complaint. He mentioned that it is defect/ problem with all Toyota Liva cars. He even gave me a Toyota Liva GD Demo car to drive. I drove and he also drove it over a speedbreaker in the premises. The loud and unusual “thud” noise was there while riding over the speed breaker.
The tilt steering. I am 5ft 6ins. I can only drive with the tilt steerjing fully up. There should be more maneuverability in the Up Position.
Areas of improvement
Toyota should modify the front suspensions. Improve on the dashboard and tilt steering limitations.
Good: Good handling characteristics. Spacious, good and comfortable leg room in the rear. Nice looksBad: Suspensions very noisy. Tilt steering limitations. Gaudy dashboard. Noisy engine, especially wi
