Hi I own a midnight black VXi 2007 model.Done 5500kms.
Its a good car for the money u can
buy.Before buying this I tested Getz1.3, Palio1.6,Ikon 1.3.I was looking for a
car with
best performance and the price under
5lakh.The ikon's engine was responsive but it crossed my budget.Palio is
powerful but the after sales service and spares made me to think of Swift.I
tested both petrol and diesel.Since I love the 6k free rev engine of petrol and
my running kms is less than 10k/year, so I opted VXi.The engine is so silent and
from the tacho only we will be knowing that its idling.Accidentally I had
cranked the running engine many times :).
The stock tyres on LXi,VXi,LDi and VDi
165/80/14 seems to be inadequate for Swift. While cornering at speeds above
90km/hr , the tyre looses its grip. If we brake at this speed there is a chance
for a skid .So I recommend Suzuki to put the 185/7-/R14 footwear on all models
with slight increase in price.Mine I changed to 205/60/R14 Bridge stones with
alloys. The rattling are common on all swifts and this also should be taken cared
by Suzuki.
The AC is very powerful for Indian climate
and it doesn't loads the engine as on small cars. The cabin plastics are of good
quality and the door trims, Dash etc on LXi/LDi seems to be odd with black/grey
colour without the silver trims.
Performance is its trump card and I had
reached 100 in 2nd gear:).The front bumper is little bit low as it will hit on
huge bumps and other things. On latest 2008 models with clear lens tail lamps
they had rectified this problem.
The EPS is so responsive and gives better
feedback to driver at all speeds. The fabics used on seat and doors seems to be
less sporty and colorful. There are frequent gear changes required in city
driving due to the lack of torque at low rpm.But on highways this car really
swifts like an aeroplane and there is amble power to overtake due to free rev
engine. Just down shift , zip away......
Fun to drive above 3k rpm,Stability, Good Braking, High rev EngineLess passenger space, Cabin Rattles Early, Lack of low end Torque
