Maruti Suzuki Dzire vs Tata Tigor [2017-2018]

The Tigor AMT is Tata’s latest proposal to take a more substantial slice of the rapidly growing affordable automatic car segment. As the name suggests, it is the automatic version of the Tigor – a rather stylish sub-4 metre sedan that, until recently, was offered only with a 5-speed manual. There aren’t any cosmetic changes or interior upgrades and under the hood you get the same 1.2-litre petrol motor as always but with the added convenience of an automatic gearbox.

The Tata Tigor has been in the CarWale garage for three months now and in that time we have put the car through quite a few paces. This time around, we are giving you our experience out on the highway with the car. Firstly, though, the car went for a service to repair a choked airbox for climate control unit. In that time Tata also repaired a broken bonnet stand which had loosened up during usage. The AC is back to functioning completely though we feel that cooling is still not as good as when the car arrived into our garage three months ago.

It has been a month with the newest compact sedan in the Indian car market and here is something that pops first into my mind – space. The Tigor is small to start with. Unlike the competing compact sedans that are based on B-segment hatchbacks, this one is based on the Tata Tiago – a premium A-segment hatch of we can call it.
