Audi TT vs Audi A3 Cabriolet

If the sight of a convertible ever tugged at your heart, then the Audi A3 Cabriolet is one that can easily lure you, especially in that lip-smacking shade Audi calls ‘Vegas Yellow’. And we can’t help but state that it was an attention grabber as long as it was in the hands of our testers. Regardless of age, everyone just dropped their jaws at the sight of this car, and it is this experience which makes up the A3 Cabriolet’s ultimate selling point.

A budget sports car with a luxury badge. The Audi TT coupe has become an iconic car in its relatively short life span with its chic looks and light on pocket price tag. The critics, however, haven’t been too kind to its all show no go approach. The TT packed all the troubles of a sports car with harsh ride, low ground clearance and lack of space, yet it didn’t offer the kind of performance one expects to compensate for the pain. In its third generation then, Audi aims at setting things right. Even in its most basic form, the new TT gets more power and better technology and that should ideally translate into more fun. So our day spent with the new one was to find out if Audi has succeeded.

It was roughly about seven years ago that I had a tryst with an Audi sports car which changed the course of my destiny. I had just completed my fifth semester of college and in that ‘make something out-of-myself- in- life’ mode I was interning with a publication. But it was not a newspaper or magazine and after two dull stints I had finally got the chance to train with an auto magazine (ironically called Automan) based out of Oman where my dad was working.
