Exterior Sharp looks with good design. Attractive front grill and chrome handles.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Features introduced in the new vento is quite good with the inclusion of cruise controll & mandatory airbags accross all variants.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox A very silent refined engine with amazing gear box which is the heart of the car. Good stabily at high speeds. Excellent controll of the vehicle on tight curves on the highway.

Ride Quality & Handling Vento has really good pick up and superio handling at high speeds. Good Suspenions which makes the driving very pleasureful.

Final Words Vento is a car for the people who understand what drive quality is all about. I have been using VW Polo for past 5 year and there was no hesitation in opting for Vento. Other competitors cars in category were good but when it comes to drive quality Vento tops the list.

      Areas of improvement Service stations.

The car holds an edge over other cars of the same segment. The front panel needs an upgradation but overall the car is superb!!!!

The interiors are average but the exteriors are macho.

Overall ride perfomance is satisfactory with the engine noise to the minimal.

Finally would like to add that the car parts nowadays are freely available in the local market, but would advice you to get it serviced from an authorised dealer if you want the longevity of your car life.

This car is definitely the best one which would not dent your pocket.

The boot space is tremendous. I met with an accident last summer but trust me the impact of the accident was so violent that I assumed , the damage would be extensive but to my suprise I was unhurt  and the damage was minimal.

I would strongly recommend those people to use this car if they believe in performance and efficacy. The life of the machine is excellent with the battery life expectancy still going great😄. So would end by saying that this the best German Engineering till date.

First and foremost I would like to add that this machine has good torque speed and great suspension.Seats are not back supported.

This is the review of Vento after 6 years from Purchase

Exterior The paint starts to dry out and freckling is noticed, The brake pads needs replacement constantly, the wiper blades have been replaced twice a year. The ORVM mirror has fallen off.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Weekend cleaning and upkeep of the interiors during the weekend does ensure that Interiors stay as good as new. Space and comfort of driving and being driven is smooth and on good roads its on a cloud.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy an Gearbox Still remains Wow. The Long runs on the highway is still a pleasure in a Vento. The fuel Economy normally remains between 17 - 18 KMPL on a highway between speeds of 80 -90 KMPH however Average of 10 - 11 KMPL can be expected in city conditions with bumper to bumper traffic. Clutch and Gearbox are by far the ultimate USP of the Vento, However driver should not indulge in Clutch driving. The Vento gear system is very simple. Clutch can be released immediately once in drive. A foot rest next to the clutch would have been ideal though. Brake quality is poor and squeeks a lot after the 5th year, had to replace the Pads nearly twice in a single year.  The acceleration in the 2nd gear is a smooth flow and is not instant. (like a SWIFT) which is quite a good feature if you look at it - No Jerking during acceleration. Fail start requires driver to turn the ignition to zero and re-attempt.

Ride Quality & Handling Wow. My friends have vouched that they never feel exhuasted despite a 12 hour drive in the VEnto, they feel fresh as ever. The Shock absorbers are good and never required any replacement. However, the tyres require replacement on the 5 th year.

Final Words Although the second sale pricing is relatively low, a Brand new Vento is a VFM. If you are looking at the ultimate driving pleasure, then Vento it is.

Areas of improvement Exterior paint quality can improve, RHS Wiper blades cannot be directly popped up unless in "on" position. The window rubber buffering tends to dry up and hence cause cracks leading to water seepage through the window sils.

The Engine is powerful as ever, Steering, Interior Plastics, Dashboard, Maintenance costBrakes, Exterior paint, Rubber buffers

It's been while now that VW had introduced Vento in India. Vento has seen many updates since its launch. I'm writing this review after driving this car for more than 16200 KM on various terrain and traffic conditions. I hope the one who is looking for or zeroing for new car would get some real insight from this review. 1. Buying experience: I would further divide this one in to two parts (a) Pre-booking experience and (b) post booking experience. While i was looking for sedans and flipping through the Hondas, Hyundais, fords...suddenly VW vento grabbed my attention when i got to see this beauty closely for the 1st time. The dealership in Surat (Navjeevan Auto) was good as far as describing the car and encouraging for test drive. I also got feeling of trustworthiness while interacting with them regarding the vehicle and their policies. So full marks on pre-booking experience to VW dealership. However, the post booking experience was equally bad as they forced me to take insurance from their own dealership and argued illogically for petty issues, so i would give Average rating there. 2. Looks and features: Vento gives feeling of classiness. As far as exterior is concerned VW could have done much better to match up with the likes of Verna, City or ciaz. Vento is missing on many features as compare to these well established cars e.g. Projected headlamps (2017 model), DRL, Splitting tail lamp, key less entry, Start/stop button, Navigation, sunroof, etc. However, it offers some of the very unique features which others are not yet introduced e.g. DSG gearbox, Tilt & Telescopic steering wheel, excellent built quality, etc. 3. Riding experience: This is the most amazing part of Vento. Driving Vento with DSG gearbox is thrill. The gearshifts are absolutely smooth that i would fail to know how it aptly changes the gear when needed to. The built quality is such that it feels like i'm seating in a bulletproof bunker. The interiors are so much classy and posh. There is no nonsense thing inside the cabin of the vento. I can adjust the seat both horizontally and vertically, adjust the steering wheel for rack and reach. The steering seemed slightly on a heavier side for slow speeds but it is awesomely amazing to grip it on the highways and on high speeds. The most annoying part for me (For others it could be a plus point) is the engine sound when the car is idling or on a relatively slower speeds. The control on the higher speed is very confidence inspiring. Also the suspensions of the Vento is perfectly designed for the Indian road conditions and one can glide over the pot holes and the rumble strips without any problems. 4. Servicing and Maintenance: When i was looking for the best cars, i used to hear from various people that the VW has high maintenance cost as the parts are imported from Germany. Also there are limited service stations across India unlike Maruti or Hyundai for that matter. However, after my detailed inquiry i found that all the parts are now being manufactured in their Chakan plant and i got to see the price list of parts and they are more or less at par with the other brands. Also in VW car the frequency of service is yearly unlike other brands which call for the service every six months. 5. Pros and Cons: Pros 1. Superior built quality 2. Posh interiors 3. Safety features 4. DSG gearbox 5. Riding quality 6. Stability and control 7. Comfortable seats 8. Fuel efficiency with Automatic transmission 9. Road presence 10. Serice Cons: 1. Slightly dated exterior 2. Less features offed compare to rivals 3. Engine noise when idling (Diesel variant) 4. Low ground clearance for Indian conditions 5. Cost 6. Resale value I hope i could give some practical details of VW Vento in my review which may help the buyer while flipping through the options.

VW is a proven cheater and they don't care about their customers one bit. VW has not learnt anything from the hefty fine on cheating in USA. When a company can cheat the most powerful government in the world, how will they care about us? VW sold a faulty car to me last year and I've been trying to put my point across the who's who in VW, both in India and even Germany for more than an year now, but to no avail. The problem is that they sold a faulty car to me. The paint on top corroded with 6 months of buying the car The welding from the joint cracked as well. Within 1 year, the battery had to be replaced and I had to pay for the same. After a few months, the coolant leaked while I was on tour 500 kms away from hometown. This happened within 5 days of getting the car serviced. How on earth can something like this happen within a week of servicing the vehicle. I'm 100% sure that they would have charged lakhs from me had the car not been under warranty. The customer care does not respond at all.

Exterior Good build quality. Small hits will not even make a dent. Even the 7 layer painiting is very good.

Good stability. Steering feedback is very good especially on highways and winding roads. Car doesnt loose control even when braking from 180 to 0.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good build quality. Basic varient is too basic and doent have much features.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox TDI 1.6 has very good torque and can be climb basement without even applying gas pedal. Similary Stop and go in pit holes and humbs is not hard. ~15kmpl in sick bangalore traffic.

Good to drvie especially  when the turbo switches on.  80 to 140 is very quick.

Ride Quality & Handling Suspension is setup for highspeed stability. So hard to manage in uneven roads and surprise humbs due to vertical movement of the car.

Final Words Overall the customer will be happy to drive.

Areas of improvement Suspension. Need to reduce vertical movement. 1st grear is very slow.

Build qualitySuspension setup for uneven roads, Ground clearance

Build Quality excellent in the segment.

      Clean and timeless styling.

      Very nice ride and handling.

Would be better if after sales service improves.

Beige and Black Interiors look very prime.

Rear seats comfort is also ok.

      Ample space for storage.

Should give an option for 16inch alloy wheels atleast

      in the higher end trims.

Can also give more airbags and other safety features in the

      higher end trims.

      The AC is quite effective.

I upgraded my old highline manual gearbox to AT. Wonderful experience. New 16 inches alloyes give more ground clearance . Please update your details because highline plus has 195/55/R16 tyres. Stability and power is the best features of this car. DSG gearbox works very efficiently. Proud to be a owner of Vento .

Exterior It has a timeless look, and though it is not a very fancy looking car like the Verna or City, it has a subtle styling to it that demands respect. The bold grille with generous amount of chrome lines has added a lot of class to the car and it looks more upmarket than the earlier version.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior plastic quality is very good, which shows that Germans are not ready to compromise on quality for cost. Though the interior is classy and all controls are within reach, it lacks the modern look of some of its competitors and hence may not be liked by everyone. Also the touchscreen is totally useless with just a basic phone connection, radio and music controls. It is supposed to have Mirrorlink but that also is not compatible with most of the phones. I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 which is Mirrorlink compatible but hardly any apps are supported. For navigation, we can only use Sygic or Bring Go both of which are useless apps, plus they are free only for a month. Music player also does not work properly on Mirrorlink so it is a feature which is of no use. Volkswagen has lot of technology on Android Auto and Mirrorlink, but they are not interested in launching any in India.

Also there is no stop/start button, you have to start this car the conventional way though I personally feel that we do not need the button feature as it hardly gives any convenience but adds a lot of compication in the car. Another missing feature is the sun roof which almost all cars in this segment provide. Though I really wonder why we need it in India when already there is so much of sun available for us.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Amazing is the only word!! Right from the word go.. The TSI engine is fun to drive and gives you power exactly when you need it. The combination of TSI engine and DSG gearbox is fabulous and it is almost as if it reads your mind and provides you the exact 'feel' that you need whether you are cruising lazily on a highway, or want to overtake a truck in a hurry, or need to crawl your way through stop start city traffic. The car handles all situations effortlessly. And once in a while when you feel the adrenaline rush, you have S or Sport mode, which instantly transforms the TSI engine into a race car!! You get absolute power with the sound of revs as if you are driving on a race track!! There is a manual mode too, but unless you are hell bent on controlling gears yourself it is not needed. Overall an amazing experience. Fuel economy is decent, gives about 12 kmpl in bad city traffic and goes upto 20 kmpl while cruising at highways. Given the weight and power output of the car, the above figures are quite good, though some 'kitna deti hai' fellows may not be convinced with it. My suggestion to them is if 'kitna deti hai' is your primary concern then don't even consider a sedan. Go for Nano or Maruti Alto instead or a diesel car.

Ride Quality & Handling Very good ride quality and handling. The steering is very responsive and it is a little hard at low speeds and becomes softer once the car starts moving. Suspension quality is very good and even at worst road conditions we do not feel much inside. Ground clearance though is a bit less and we need to be cautious of that especially while driving in potholed or unpaved roads in rural India. However having driven a Honda City ZX before, I can assure that I am much more relaxed at bad roads than what I was while driving the Honda city.

Final Words Very good car and a must buy if you love driving and want a car that gives control of manual with convenience of automatic.

Areas of improvement VW should work on improving the Mirrorlink and connectivity experience and enable the connected car feature for India. IN today's IOT world it feels like a dinosaur to drive a car which is lacking in connectivity and smart features.

Build quality, interiors, engine, gearbox, suspension, features, handlingLess spacious and lacking in gizmos
