      Exterior Classy rich and elegant.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Definitely comfortable than the verna fluidic. Limited but quality interior goodies. No cheap plastics. Money wisely used on quality.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbo The vento will definitely test your guts. Unlimited power limited by the roadS. For those who compare this car with fluidic,a short drag race will answer all your questions. Not just the speed or pickup, the handling and the suspension and the feel of being safe and secured. The verna wins on paper but the reality is totally the other way around.

Ride Quality & Handling Awesome. The handling is just superb.

Final Words Definitely verna is no match for this car. The build quality is incomparable. The ride quality and the engine performance is second to none. Truely a no nonsense car. I have driven both the cars as my friend owns a fluidic nd he regretts his decision after driving the vento. Final words all that shines is not gold.

Areas of improvement Definitely the seats not expected such substandard stuff from VW

Engine fuel economy and GermanSeats very very uncomfortable

      Exterior Nothiong specific.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Nothiong specific.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Very risky car. had multiple problems in engineering since purchase. a very erratic sudden breakdown of accelerator causing serious risk to life. a disconnected, badly aligned fuel piple leading to massive suden, leakage while driving, i survived a fire and accident.

      Ride Quality & Handling Ok.

Final Words A very risky car.  criminal negligence on part of WV, to sell cars that has not been tested properpy, with multipe engineering defects, all on serious aspects - fuel leakage, accelerator system. it a a bad decision, never purchase WV in India.

Areas of improvement I purchased the VW Vento Highline in Nov 2011. Orion Motors, unit of Volkswagen India, Hyderabad.

On the 2nd day of purchase, the fuel system was defective, leading to sudden likage of petrol and car stopped on road. It was towed to the service centre.

The WV did not acknoledge it as engineering / manufacturing / Quality problem, they have told me it is tampering case. The repair document they give does does not mention this, it is written "fuel leakage", the WV people never gave me the replaced parts (if they claim it was cut/tempered). they have tried to pass the buck on customer, instead of investigating or replacing a unsafe car.

The 2nd major safety issues happened few days back. the car's accelerator pedel behaves irratically. It does not pick up acceleration even after pressing the pedel, however, suddenly it makes engine noise and jumps ahead (jerks ahead). this could have lead to injury to me or fellow people on road. The WV team, as expected tell me that it is possibly related to driving too slowly, in big traffic situation, pressing the clutch too long. I have driven cars for more than 14 years in diffrent cities, this comes as a surprise, that i do not know to drive a car. The WV people have as expecetd tried to place the blame on customer instead of fining out details of this major safety issue or replacing the car.

I have no option but to file a case of criminal negligence on part of WV, an act that could lead to homicidal situation (due to car defects).

the incidences has also lead me to remain away from my job, trying to chase WV people for services and caused inconveinece and monetory cost of hiring car each day the car is in service station.

WV namemany facults in engineering. faulty accelerator system, very risky. overall very unreliable car

Exterior In the flesh, the Volkswagen Vento is a good-looking car. It doesn't look like a hatch with a boot added on. Its lines are crisp, making it a proper three-box car. Speaking of the boot, its very spacious, as it is quite deep. The chrome accents on the Highline version are subtle. You can see them on the grille as well as surrounds of the fog lamps. A discreet strip runs along the bottom of the boot.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The beige fabric all over the insides of the car make it a cheerful place all right. The biggest party trick in the Vento, again seen only in the Highline version, is a lever placed behind the front passenger seat called the Spacemax control. Operate it and you can push the front passenger seat effortlessly from the rear seat. Oh yes, the Vento has a longer wheelbase compared to the Polo - so the legroom, though not exceptional, is adequate.

Rear passengers can chill The Vento has AC vents for the rear, placed between the two front seats. And they get additional reading lamps as well. Overall quality of plastics and other materials plus all the controls and switchgear are quite good, so the premium feel is there on this car. And with its surprise price, you think you have got more than your money's worth.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and GearboxThe petrol motor is refined and power is adequate. The engine is relaxed even at 120 kph and shows that it has got the juice. The delivery of power is smooth and makes the car drivable.

Ride Quality & Handling The ride quality of the Vento is much better than that of the Polo's. The ride quality at the back is the best in its class - it keeps the rough stuff away from intruding inside and there is barely any rebound to make you uncomfortable. Net net, it is firm without being harsh. The handling prowess of the Polo platform is translated into that of the Vento. It is easily chuckable and doesn't get flustered by corners. Rapid direction changes don't affect is stability and it is very nimble. Dynamically, the Vento is brilliant.

Final Words:The Vento is a very good car. It looks nice, is built well, is spacious for passengers, has lots of room for luggage. The Highline version is well-appointed and should be the trim to opt for.

Areas of improvement: Music System and addition of Rear Disk Brakes.

The Vento is a very good car. It looks nice, is built well, is spacious for passengers.Music system Lacks in bluetooth,USB and Aux Port.

Exterior Good and stylish, In first looks, It gives the feeling that "thats the car".

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good and simple, very comfortable, very spaceious even on back seats.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine Sound inside the cabin just like TATA NANO produce sound outside, more vibrations are there, Engine Technology is outdated i.e. TDI even TATA is giving CRDE technology which has less sound & vibrations, gearbox is very light and easy to use, stearing is very light.

Ride Quality & Handling Handling is good, Ride quality suffers due to engine noise & vibrations, otherwise good.

Final Words This is not a value for money buying this car because engine noise inside the cabin and vibrations are more other wise features wise it is a good car.

Areas of improvement Needs to improve on Engine Noise & Vibrations. Need to educate their sales team, who do not know which is the latest technology TDI & CRDI.

Good Driving Comfort, Good Style, Proper Saftey FeaturesEngine Sound inside the cabin just like TATA NANO produce sound outside

Once more my vento start showing the same problems which were occuring earlier, it's the worst car I have ever purchased, full of problems

Same problems like vibrations started comming in the morning, there is missing in the car and a bad diesel smell is comming from the exhaust pipe when I start my car in the morning, all this is happening 2 nd time after purchasing the car and my car is only 5 months old.

1ST TIME WHEN THIS PROBLEM CROP UP VOLKSWAGEN IGNORED IT for TWO WEEKS TILL I HAD POSTED IT IN FACEBOOK AFTER THAT THEY TOOK TWO WEEKS BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO UNDERSTAND THE PROBLEM, IT WAS THE WORST SERVICE EVER OFFERED TO ME BY ANY CAR MANUFACTURER.

I WAS NOT EXPECTING SUCH A BAD CAR AND BAD WORST ASS SERVICE EXPERIENCE FROM WORLD KNOWN COMPANY 'VOLKSWAGEN '

PEOPLE WHO ARE THINKING THAT THEIR BOFORE SALES SERVICE EXPERIENCE IS ONLY BAD, BE PREPARED FOR FACING AFTER SALES SERVICE EXPERIANCE WHICH WILL GOING TO BE FULL OF PROBLEMS.

NO DOUBT VOLKSWAGEN IS GOING SKODA WAY

good fuel economy , best qualitycar started showing vibration problem ,missing

      Exterior I like the exteriors.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) They are nice but the seats are a bit uncomfortable.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox 1.6 diesel engine... what can I say... just one thing... HAVE YOU GUYS EVER DRIVEN THE OPTRA MAGNUM???

Ride Quality & Handling VOLKSWAGEN guys are just promoting good pick up. The drive is noisy. suspension is hard.

Final Words The sales guys at the dealers are so so snobbish. I have visited 2 dealerships for test drives. First I went to Volkwagen South (Mumbai) the sales exec (young lady) took me for a test drive. Just as we were sitting in the car, she gets a phone call and I started the car and took it for a spin for almost 6-7 kms (15 mins approx) and she is on the phone all the time instead of explaining me the features of the car... I cancelled my plans to go ahead at the same moment. Then after 6 months I visited their Mumbai West showroom... again the same problem... I had to ask someone to show me the car... and first thing they say that min 5 weeks... Vento 5 months... I ask for a test drive and am informed that its not available but will surely get in touch with me the next day. I have now bought the Micra diesel extremely satified with the car (after 15 days for visiting the above showroom)... PS: I did receive a call from them after almost 20 days of visiting them.

Areas of improvement DO I NEED TO SAY ANYTHING MORE ABT THE DEALERSHIP EXECUTIVES??? Rather than they sitting around in proper business suits, why not be more humble.

Looks nice, simple and elegantSpace in the back seat, the dealers

Volkswagon is taking Inian customers for granted. As the vechile have some demand they think the company and the dealear can take the cusomers for granded. Their dealer Elite motors the customer service is very poor and I had real unpleasent experience through out the purchase and delivery. I only wanted remind them of story of old Bajaj Scooter, Where are they? Even the company shuld learn to support and resolve the customer greivences. This a germen car with indian attitude like garland in Monkey"s hand. idThe company in India has not responded to any of my mails but their office in Germaney replied two of my mails. This is the way professionals work!the volkswagon Idia should have some good learning one day the demand for your vehicle will come down and that day you will look for the customer that day is not very far!!!

good car with best features n value for moneyThe attitue of the dealer and the no response from the company itself.

Exterior Looks good inside and out. I particularly like the "classy" look which seperates it from jazzy looks of verna or honda city.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Inside too, the design is simple yet very premium looking. Recently I went with a friend to test drive Hyundai Fluidic Verna (diesel), found it very plain not at all premium.  There is plenty of leg space behind.  Interior quality fittings are top notch. The plastics definately feels better and contriute to preminum feel. Its been almost one year now and I still look forward to getting behind the wheel every day.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engine is powerful but more importantly very responsive. Although the max power (105 bhp) is not the higest, it comes at low RPM. Last year I felt its pickup and feel was better than Honda City which has max power of 118 bhp ( however that power comes at high RPM, which means you will have to rev up the engine ).

Btw, just to make it clear I have Vento TDI (diesel). And it may be due to VW diesel engine characteristics. I had test driven Vento petrol as well and I did NOT like it. In petrol version, I think Honda city will have an edge.

Further, when I tested Verna Fluidic (diesel) with my friend, I realized how amazing VW engine is! The new verna just doesn't feel match for Vento even with 126 hp of power.  While the engine is good, the first difference you notice is pickup is not quick, or atlest like vento. Further, at little higher rpm, the power is not uniform and feels unregulated.  If one test drive the both car side by side, you will see what I mean.

With vento, you have very uniform power and acceleration. The gearox is another area. It feels easy and great to shift gears. We had to struggle in Verna little bit between one fo the gear shift.

Of my 14000 Km driving so far, the car is giving me 20-23 km/l on highway and aroudn 12 in the city (with stop and go driving).

Ride Quality & Handling Ride and Handling is excellent. I use it evryday and handles city potholes and uneven roads very well.

ut in long distances journeys I had so far ( 5 times, which more than 600+ km jounreys), you can really appreciate this car even more. You will not feel tired after 10-11 hours of driving..!

Final Words I always wanted a car that you can feel passionate about, feels unique and different than others and one that you can keep it for years. after almost a year I feel I have found that car in Vento.

Areas of improvement Interior features could be better. I liked to Hyundai fluidic interiror features like blue-tooth, rear-camera..etc.   But on the other hand I dont regret it.  Given a choice between better engine, better interior and quality, I could let go "feature rich" functionality.

Excellent looks, powerful engine, very good ride and handling, feel premiuminterior features could have been better, price

      Exterior

exterior is really good.....but not as good as verna or city.....but ut is ok

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

interior thought not as appeling as verna or city........it is made of good quality

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

i bought petrol highline version...and get fuel economy of 18.5kmpl and engine performance is briallint......far better than verna or city....

      Ride Quality & Handling

      excellent ride quality...like audi....

Final Words for persons who are looking for value of money or good costomer care aftersale service....my advicce is do not purchase it.......go for verna or city........especially government employes because VW service is not so cheep.......even they ccharge for the first service....

Areas of improvement  i have used many cars in my life from various brands....but the coustomer care service provided by the VW is the worst...........i never expecter this from VW....

may be the dealer is bad........i purchased the car from trivandrum....EVM passenger cars...kerala.....because of this dealer i lost nearly 48000 rupees....

their insurence which is bajaj allience is 34000 rupees....where as it would cost only 24000 for united genneral insurence...

and moreover they will charge 12000 rupees for the compulsary first service...

ride quallity, fuel economy, aftersale service is very bad,,,,and dealers coustomer service

      Exterior Same as Scode Rapid.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Nothing different from other competitive brands, have phone answer button on steering wheel but there is no bluetooth in car.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine bit noisy, Fuel economy is average 16KMPL, gear box is fine.

Ride Quality & Handling I have purchased vehicle in Feb'12, I have observed that there is left pulling problem in my vehicle and have been visiting Service dealer from Mar'12 till date. I have visited more than 8 times until now keeping my vehicle for more than 20-25 days all together.

1st visit - they have done wheel alignment and returned my vehicle - no change.

2nd Visit - they have again done alignment and steering adjustments - no change.

3rd Visit - they have changed left shock absorber and alignment - no change.

4th visit - they have changed right shock abosrber and then front two tyres which are worn out inside part in 5000Kms - no change.

5th Visit - Fly doctor visisted for inspecting the car and changed crossmember of the car - no change.

6th Visit: I have raised complaint to VW germany and was redirected to VW India team check the issue. VW service GM has inspected the vehilce on directions from VW India and kept a report on the left pulling problem and the impact of the pulling to VW team.

7th visit -  Fly doctor along with other engineers from plant visisted and changed knuckle joints of the car - no change.

Still there was no change observed and they have changed rear axel and all 4 tyres as the tyres are also 50% wornout inside part by 11000kms.

Now the vehicle is slightly pulling towards right. Since they have changed all major components of the car, i have been requesting for service history in detail or replace with new car. But VW team is not responding to any of my quieries.

Final Words Customer care and focus is very bad. they are concerned on sale of car but not safety of the customer. People prefer german brands mostly for the sake of safety and stability, but when they are not showing that interest towards customer after sale, there is no point in prefering this brand. Worst on VW Team for such neliglected and careless behaviour. We can clrealy understand that they are marketing this brand in India showcasing German brand and company but we need to understand that they selling in India and their policies and practices and standards are also as per Indian standards.

Areas of improvement Customer care, tracking of customer complaints, escallation matrix should be imporved a lot, complaint follow up to be implemented to check if the status of complaint and satisfaction level of customer. Transperency of reaching to next level of management is not there on complaints.

Average at fuel economyA/C blower makes more noise, defogger needs to be imporved
