      Exterior

      Good looks

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Very spacious. Excellent leg room in the rear

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

Noisy engine, especially with AC working.

      Ride Quality & Handling

      Excellent handling characteristics.

      Final Words

I purchased my Toyota Liva GD on 31 Mar 2012. I have driven a little over 1200kms, including a trip from Chennai to Bangalore and back. The fuel economy from tank up auto fuel cut off to tank up auto fuel cut off was 18.9 kms on the highway.

A very serious manufacturing defect with Toyota Liva GD is the front suspensions. While riding over a speed breaker even at low speeds, an unusual and loud thud noise is heard from the front suspensions. I have reported this complaint to Harsha Toyota Poomamallee, Chennai. The technical expert on the subject was not surprised at my complaint. He mentioned that it is defect/ problem with all Toyota Liva cars. He even gave me a Toyota Liva GD Demo car to drive. I drove and he also drove it over a speedbreaker in the premises. The loud and unusual “thud” noise was there while riding over the speed breaker.

The tilt steering. I am 5ft 6ins. I can only drive with the tilt steerjing fully up. There should be more maneuverability in the Up Position.

      Areas of improvement

Toyota should modify the front suspensions. Improve on the dashboard and tilt steering limitations.

Good: Good handling characteristics. Spacious, good and comfortable leg room in the rear. Nice looksBad: Suspensions very noisy. Tilt steering limitations. Gaudy dashboard. Noisy engine, especially wi

Exterior Exteriors are average looking and it cannot be said as one of the besst looking cars in its class. Overall design looks more functional rather than the aesthtics

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Best thing about the car is the leg space it provides in both rear and front. Very spacious and comfortable for long journeys. It suits well for tall people as they fit comfortable in both front and rear seats.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox One of the best performing and reliable engines I have seen in this class. Have been driving this car for 1.6 years and has completed 30,000+ Kms. Has taken the car through some of the roughest and best roads across the country in some of the worst weather. Has always given the best reliability and performance. Smooth easy to handle.

Ride Quality & Handling Driving is very smooth, gear and clutch smooth and works like a charm. Has been stuck in huge traffic jams and seen cars being overheated and stuck and all. Liva just sails through nicely.

Final Words If looking for a good hatchback which is suited for all Indian road conditions and for the price it offers, this is the best choice.

Areas of improvement Interiors could have been better. Its just plain and lots of plastic. Also the intrior plastic components becomes loose and make noise over a time and has to be tightened and all.

Excellent engine performance, Reliable, Suited for both city and highway drivingInteriors are not good, Not much additional features

Exterior : Good outlook. the Etios Liva Diesel has sharp styling with a smiling grill. Liva looks more stylish compared to sedan.

The body is not so strong. just by leaning on body, dent occurs.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) : Interior is comparetively poor than Swift and i10/20.

Spacious. comfortably can travel 3 people along with a 10-12 year child in back seat.

Very poor seats, looks like RTC bus seats.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox : Cool Engine. Can speed upt o100-120 without any hassel. Milage around 17-19 km/lt. Easy ro shift gears, good pick up.

Ride Quality & Handling : very comfortable riding. Easy to handle. Power stearing is so smooth. to be very careful who drove older vehicles.

      Final Words :

major complaints : 1) Poor or weak suspension. Accoridng to dealer service personnel, it is not weak. but very sharp return which returns with in 9 seconds !!! (no idea what exactly it is.) But heard  complaints from most of the customers. Gives a THUD noice even when it passes in a small  hump or pathole. No matter how slow you are.

      2) there is no beedings provided for doors. (ofcourse it is provided to the inside the car body). Hence gives a wide gap between door and body. When travelling on dusty road, huge dust gets stored. While cleaning, we should wipe by slighly opening the inner beedings. Gradually beedings will get weaker.

UNFORTUNATE, AFTER SALES , SERVICE CENTRES DONOT MIND ON CUSTOMERS GREVIENCE SINCE TOYOTA HAVE HUGE CUSTOMER BASE.

OCCASSIONALLY FEELS SORRY FOR LEAVING HUYNDAI FAMILY AFTER 12 YEARS OF COMFORTABLE DRIVING.

Good style, moderate fuel economypoor Interiors, weak suspension

Exterior Good styling, quality of paint is good.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Limited interior features. Lack of Tachometer is my foremost grouse; however it has not affected my driving. Though interior cost cutting is glaring at times, they have provided all four power windows & ABS with EBD in both diesel models. The centre mounted console appears to be better suited for driving since you do not have to take your eyes off the road. Drivers seating position is low; should have provided a seat height adjuster. Interior space is awesome. Best in class.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performamce is excellent. Gear ratios optimised for city driving. Though 68 bhp appears to be low; however after having driven the car in Calcutta's traffic I have not found any negative points about its performance. In fact the way it pulls up from 2nd/3rd gear it is not in any way inferior to a good petrol engine. I have driven the 82 bhp Versa for so many years. this engine is as good if not better. Gear box is slick and gear ratios are ideal for city driving.

Ride Quality & Handling Very good ride quality. Soaks up Calcutta's pot-holed roads with aplomb.

      Final Words Over excellent package.

Areas of improvement Interior plastics, lack of Tacho & Music System.

      Exterior Its looks ok.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) No boot space, rear seat not good, very cheap interiors, cost cutting evident. No rear folding seats. i fail to understand j variant does not even have a power steering. What segment toyota is putting its Q class hatch in.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Tad underpowered, i test drove the i20 1.4 D and 1.2 petrol. Just could not compare it to this piece of junk.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride was just OK. there are better vehicles in the, market.

Final Words These companies take India for granted. What crap are they selling Q class my foot. This is time to wake up and look beyond brand image and blindly go for it. Cost cutting very evident in the car. No quality feel at all. I was really very disspaointed. Had gone with a lot of expactations. I am happy totyota is getting compition at all segments.

Areas of improvement Stop taking Indians for granted and give them cars which really are quality cars.

      Just OKCheap quality, power,

Exterior Very nice, excellent looking from front and rear.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Comfort for lond drive, very good safety feature with ABS & EBD.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Excellent performance of best in class D4D engine, Optimum BHP to Weight Ratio, Very smooth gear shifting. No noise.

Ride Quality & Handling Very drivability, Safe to drive with ABS and EBD, very smooth handling, Value for money, Toyota brand name.

Final Words Excellent after sale service, Best performance, I have drove about 1100 Km, It is giving fuel economy above 24 KMPL. It is so safe during need harsh braking that it can be controlled from 110 KMPH to Zero within 5mtr with ABS & EBD. Really ABS is a excellent feature for safety point of view.  I strongly understand that nothing is bad with 6.5L on road price for such famous brand. More spacious, very good look from front as well as rear.

Areas of improvement Door fitting mechanism needs to improve.

Excellent fuel economy, Value for Money, Reliable Brand Name, Excellent looking & DesignLight body, More chances to touch on Speed breaker.

Overall quality of the car is very poor, particularly the clutch, looks like we have to change the clutch plates every 2 years (with around 20000 km drive), my latest issue is sudden clutch failure without any symptoms in the middle of the road. Overall very bad clutch. interiors are very poor. I talked to few of my friends who owns liva, they also had the similar issues. Even service center guys are also saying the same thing. I have been driving cars from 1996 in different countries and I have never seen such a bad car particularly from Toyota. Very cheap quality interiors ex: steering wheel cover plate , door interiors fading (color changes), trunk cover is very very very cheap. Biggest problem is clutch , I am not sure why Toyota is not doing anything about it. I WOULD NEVER BUY TOYOTA again .

      Exterior

Elligent look. Really i got fascinated with the look it provides. On road, it is comparable with SUVs.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Lot of headroom, legroom and shoulder room, accomodates seat 6 people without any difficulty. Smooth suspension, Amazing steering,  Super cooling AC with filters, Good riding comfort, driver seat height adjustment allows to adjust our seating position

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

Low end torque is good. On the highway it can beat the rest of the pack like a long race champion. Good fuel efficiency. It keeps increasing after a few 1000 kms. Super smooth engine and really a pain free clutch which is suited best for our country conditions at current scenario. Sturdy and easy gear shifting.

      Ride Quality & Handling

Superb ride and handling. Suspension is much softer. Back seat riders enjoy a stress free ride in this vehicle.

      Final Words

       Worth for money.

      Areas of improvement

       1. Wiper coverage in driver end.

      2. Reverse back light

      3. Rear door window full open

Good interior spacing, good steering, pain free clutching,Single wiper, single back light, rear door windows

I have a toyota etios liva . When i was going on highway, driving speed was on 130 km/hr to 140 km/hr, suddenly front tyre come into damage road and wheel get punchered due to safty feathers i controlled it very well but it strike from left side rock from front side It got damaged from front side so i give it on service center at my native place for repairing under insurance. They passes insurance claim but its damage parts are not available at service center from last 25 days.In starting they don't give me delivery date. They says as parts will arrange will call you. Days passes now Service centre employee says that parts will come after one month till we have to wait for it. Car is good, its perfomence is too good but its service is so poor. So please think about it that its perfomance is good but in service end its goes down.
