Honda Civic 1.8V MT road test : Civic Affair

The new Civic on the left can be distinguished by the oval fog lamps and thicker chrome strip on the grille.

The eighth generation of the Honda Civic entered the Indian car market in July 2006. The Civic has been a popular car due to its sporty looks and the Civic Type R, the high performance version of the Civic, has always been a tuners’ favourite. It is the second-longest selling Japanese car brand in North America after its worldwide rival the Toyota Corolla.

The Civic’s futuristic interiors, Honda quality and sporty looks have been the main reasons for attracting customers. Honda now has made some cosmetic changes to its Civic to give it a mid-life facelift.

Refined, frugal engine; resale value

Tendency to scrape belly with four or five occupants, price

Thanks for the review, 2nd gear touches 98kmph, if only it crossed the ton and the car would have posted a much better 0-100 time!

The only thing wrong with styling of the Civic is the the curve of the bumber that extends way low. Maybe it's a little addictive to be in my car (old city) but I wanted to get out of the civic as soon as I started driving it. I couldn't take its inner 'aesthetics' - nothing against the power, which is comparable to the old city vtec (1999-2003), so was not a recommended upgrade performance-wise when it was launched

the car is fun to turn...has a slightly longer turn radius than original city but good nevertheless.

Hi Charles

Nice review

But what do think about the cruze diesel price (shocking 10.99 lakh and 12.45 lakh)against the civic pricing(Rs 12.41- 14.13 lakh).Which would u choose

The petrol cruze will take on the city

GGm single shot for two birds

Expecting a reveiw on the Cruze soon and comparision between civic vs cruze

I know i benig a bit nosy about Honda but there is some serious heat on there expensive pricing
