This year, the Volkswagen Group will be introducing the Modular Transverse Matrix – the German acronym is MQB (Modularer Querbaukasten) – for the Volkswagen, Audi, ŠKODA and SEAT brands. The MQB strategy represents a turning point in the design and production of future automobiles with transverse-mounted engines. The Modular Transverse Matrix standardises many vehicle component parameters – across brands and vehicle classes. At the same time, it offers access to new technologies.

This beautifully executed art piece of the most iconic car globally, is going to be displayed at the Kala Ghoda festival from 4th- 12th February 2012

The new Volkswagen CC made its debut last November at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Now, the European market launch of the avant-garde four-door begins with the international driving presentation in Southern France. The new Volkswagen CC will be on the market at the beginning of February. In spring 2012, this Volkswagen will then launch globally, including in America, Russia and Asia.

The Volkswagen Group clocked a growth of 109.3% in sales from January to December 2011. The three brands – Audi, Škoda and Volkswagen together delivered a total of 1,11,623 vehicles to customers in 2011 as compared to 53,341 cars in 2010.

In line with the theme of Think Blue. Drive Blue. Volkswagen will focus on environment friendly, fuel efficient carlines at the 11th Auto Expo scheduled to be held in New Delhi early January next year.

Volkswagen sold 6722 vehicles in the month of November 2011, a growth of 46 percent over 4,612 vehicles sold in November 2010.  

Following its debut last year, the Scirocco R-Cup racer returns to the Race of Champions to be driven by some of the world’s leading drivers this weekend, 3-4 December.  Among them will be double Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel, who will be keen to get revenge for last year’s defeat to US motocross star Travis Pastrana in the 275bhp biogas-powered coupé.

The Volkswagen brand sold 7266 vehicles in the month of October 2011, a growth of 67 percent over 4343 vehicles sold in October 2010. 

Volkswagen Group India maintained its strong market performance in the first nine months of the year, as it registered a growth of 151.4%. The Group sold 81,360 cars from January to September 2011 as compared to 32,359 cars during the same time period last year. “Despite the slowdown of the Indian automobile market, Volkswagen Group brands were able to gain market share in the third quarter. This has been achieved by selling the best quality products, strengthening our position in existing markets and expanding our reach.” said Dr. John Chacko, Volkswagen Group Chief Representative India and President & Managing Director, Volkswagen India Private Limited.
