The 2015 Honda Fit has made its Chinese debut at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show. The third generation of the popular hatchback starts at Yuan 73,800 (Rs 7.18 lakh), which is cheaper than the previous car, and will be built in the country by Guangzhou-Honda. The Honda Fit is christened as ‘Jazz’ for the Indian market and is expected to be launched here by the end of this year.

Hyundai officially unveiled its ix25 compact SUV concept at the Beijing Auto Show 2014. This compact SUV is strategically developed for the Chinese market and the company hasn’t announced plans to take this model international yet. Hyundai announced the ix25 will go on sale, in China, later this year.
Renault India has inaugurated a new sales outlet in Jaipur, Renault Jaipur West, at Gopalpura Bye Pass in partnership with Nirmal Cars Private Limited. The outlet was inaugurated by Mr. Sumit Sawhney, Country CEO and Managing Director, Renault India. Spread on two levels over an area of 10,600 sq. ft., the Renault Jaipur West has a capacity to display upto eight cars.
Mr. Berndt Buchmann has been appointed as the Director of Group Service, Volkswagen Group Sales India Private Limited, replacing Dietmar Hildebrandt, with effect from May 1, 2014. An Austrian national with a Diploma in Master of Business Administration, Mr Buchmann has over 20 years of experience in the auto industry.
British luxury carmaker Bentley has taken the covers off its Mulsanne-based Hybrid Concept at the ongoing Beijing Auto Show. Joining the fray of ever-growing carmakers who are taking the green route, Bentley says it has envisioned a more powerful and even more efficient future for its model line-up with the Hybrid Concept.
Mahindra and Mahindra have finally confirmed that their new manufacturing facility in Cheyyar, Tamil Nadu, will be operational from 2015-16. The upcoming compact SUV codenamed S101 is expected to be manufactured from this plant.

The Audi A3 sedan has been launched at the ongoing auto show, ahead of its official production at the new Foshan plant. Branded ‘A3 Limousine’, it comes in two variants, priced at 279,800 yuan (Rs 27.08 lakh) and 334,300 yuan (Rs 32.36 lakh).
Skoda is picking up the pace in China as it continues with its aggressive model campaign which mainly focuses on expanding locally produced models. The brand, which already produces the Rapid, the Fabia and the Superb in China, has revealed that it is set to double the range to six locally produced models. It will do so by introducing the Rapid Spaceback, a new version of the Yeti and the all-important Octavia.
